I had dreaded getting the deck replaced because I just didn't want to deal with going thru the work and aggravation. I called a few construction contractors and while 2 never responded, others just gave me a quote to remove the old deck, but never took the time to actually talk or listen to me. Then Alex Halliday, owner of Liberty Remodeling LLC. actually called me after receiving the pic thru Yelp, and set up a time to visit and see all that needed to be done and also what I wanted to do. Alex came when scheduled and listened to what I wanted to do (remove old deck & replace with two covered patios on each side of the existing patio). He was great at making suggestions and asking questions, and showing me pictures to be sure of want I wanted done. His estimates were given and were exactly what was charged. He never changed the amounts and he wrote up detailed contracts for the work. It was 2 1/2 weeks to build the two new patios, lay down the pavers, and I ended up painting the entire house, instead of just the new covered patios (pics attached ). The work was so great, it looks like the patios were part of the original house and not additions. I can't say enough good things about Alex, John (his brother), and the construction crew (Julian and Amador), the pavers, and the painters. Alex did all the scheduling for each crew to come in once each part was completed. He updated me daily on when each crew would be at my house, and at what time. Alex was there as each crew arrived to go over exactly what was going to be done. He or John were there to make sure everything was done as agreed. Then at the end, a final inspection was done with plenty of attention on every detail. My home looks beautiful and the job was completed with no stress. Alex and John Halliday are truly great people to work with, I wouldn't call anyone else!

Within days to months of the original repair, I experienced continued leaks and had to request multiple return visits. During one of those attempts, a new leak was actually created in an adjoining room, causing additional damage to my home and furniture. I was in direct contact with the owner, Kirk, who personally came out to inspect not only the leak itself but the damage that resulted from it. He apologized and assured me the issues would be taken care of. Unfortunately, after that, communication stopped completely and all accountability disappeared. To this day, the problems were never properly resolved. I still have the correspondence, photos, and documentation to support everything stated here. Mistakes can happen with any company. What matters is how they handle them. In my experience, the lack of follow-through, integrity, and accountability is what should make potential customers think twice before hiring this company.

We also installed new cabinets and a wine cooler while demolishing a built-in entertainment center. The bulk of the project was done in eight weeks, including two significant change requests made by us: 1. The concrete floor was cracked and very uneven. My foreman identified this issue, told us how he would repair and level it, and then spent a few days pouring a new floor and leveling it. If he didn't address this floor issue our new to be installed engineered floors would have cracked over time. 2. We decided to paint almost the entire place well into the project, so work was delayed while the painters did this new work. What was great about the project: 1. The sales process was easy and reactive. Paul visited with us a number of times and helped with all of the planning. 2. We were assigned two interior designers. I worked closely with one, and she helped me pick out new appliances that had to fit into very tight places. She even told me that the appliance sales people I'd ultimately work with would try to correct me. Her recommendations were made with surgical precision, a centimeter in some cases. It was really impressive. 3. Their demolition crew was unbelievably efficient. They took this whole place apart in about nine total hours. The cleanup was impeccable. 4. The project manager engineered the entire thing. The workers knew what needed to be done, especially when he wasn't on site. 5. I met various workers and contractors. I was shocked by how good their work product was. The flooring person was excellent and extremely prescient. All of the workers really enjoyed working together, which was reflected in their work. I think this is also a reflection on how they liked working with Holtzman. 6. After the project was complete we met with a post-project coordinator afterwards, and told us what to do if we were at all unsatisfied. 7. When Holtzman contacted us with questions we provided immediate answers. There were a lot of decision points on material items, which I was happy to answer so the project stayed on course and details weren't skipped over. Every detail was addressed, and it shows. We have more projects in the works, and we expect to be working with Holtzman.

I've had quite a few roofers knock on my door over the last several storm seasons and I had been…read morewaiting for some storm to make a new roof covered by my insurance.  Albert simplified the nuances of how the claim system works, answered all of my questions, and made me feel comfortable by walking me through all the processes. Not only did the insurance company reimburse my entire roof less the deductible, but Albert upgraded it into a more modern long-lasting shingle at no additional cost to me.   Albert also coordinated with solar panels removal, cleaning and replacement. And coordinated with Solatube (which I love) installing 3, and his roofer installing 1 Velux sun tunnel skylight (which I definitely don't love because it probably gives 20% of the Solatube light.) I could not recommend them less. ----‐---------------- We started this process on good footing, we spent time getting to know their team, talking through the project and setting expectations. We read their positive reviews and they put on a good face. But soon after construction started we realized that this team is completely out of their depth. As a whole they are destructively uncommunicative and are outright deceitful, Cesar their GC, and Katherine one of the business owners, particularly so. When problems were encountered, instead of working through solutions together, their strategy was to stall for as long as possible and to ignore our attempts to keep the project moving forward. Their behavior cost us months of delays which resulted in thousands of dollars lost, needless worry and lasting issues with our home and property. If you decide to move forward with this team, please keep record of every interaction, be extremely specific in your contract, and keep your attorney on hand. After our move in, and after clear explicit instructions from me on numerous occasions, business owner Katherine illegally and covertly recorded the exterior and interior of our property on multiple occasions, including video recording me inside of my home while I was unaware. Katherine and the rest of the team do not care about legality, your privacy, or the basic respect of their clients. During the build they tried their best to get more money out of us while delivering substandard work. The only way we were able to move into the home after many months past our projected move in date and many weeks spent in extended stays was by going around them to schedule our final inspection with the county, by communicating with our title company & lender, by filing complaints with the BBB and ROC. Stay on top of your project. If you are providing custom architectural plans, please know that the time, money and planning that went into your build documents mean nothing to them, they will do as they please without your intervention. Consent is not a word in their vocabulary. They changed our home and design, damaged our newly installed materials and appliances, illegally dumped their waste on our property & refused to properly clean up, refused to do work explicitly outlined in our contract, and attempted to cut corners at every turn. They're unwilling to learn, improve or accept responsibility. Through my interactions with this team I have come to learn what the term "gaslighting" means. They continued to smile in my face, offering pleasantries and small talk, expecting me to quickly move past their damaging behavior while their actions and words remained persistently harmful. Save yourself the trouble.
