I am SO HAPPY I risked going to Yelp to find my contractor and found Cody and his team! For the readers who like reviews to get to the point...I have hired him twice to fix an addition to our residence and plan on hiring him a third time. Now for the readers who want to hear the details... First, I had a horrific contractor who was recommended to me by a neighbor and for those wondering...the contactor is licensed, bonded and insurered. We ended up firing him after the 6th leak in the home (a part of the home he was NOT supposed to touch), among many other things. So, I went onto Yelp and took a gamble. Cody came out not just once, but multiple times because I wanted to go over everything that needed to be completed and discuss potential concerns over the previous contractor's work. Second, because of the previous contractor's inability to do the work properly, I had to pick and choose what needed to be completed. So, A-1 had a huge list to work through...uneven cement poured, dings on the wall, walls not property even, etc. A-1 came out the next week and not only did they do a great job, I decided to hire them AGAIN to complete another portion of the incomplete job from our previous contractor. Third, I cannot go without speaking about Faye (Cody's right-hand)...she is communicative and has great customer service skills. Lastly, when Cody was hired the second time, concrete was poured around the existing pool. When we went to use the pool, we noticed all the pool water began to travel to the home, so we called Cody. A-1 came out and determined that the concrete needed to be taken out and re-poured. Based on my previous contractor trying to be "budget-conscious", I was surprised that A-1 wanted to do the right thing first. My previous contractor would have said they could apply some pool-dec or some type of sealant to raise the concrete to stop the water from pooling by the home. Lastly, I cannot say enough good things about A-1 because I have a home with a working 4th bedroom with walk-in closet, a beautiful laundry room and closet. We had Cody's crews redo the floors in our upstairs bathrooms. The job turned out to be more complicated than any of us expected, so we knew there would be extra charges--rightfully. But rather than try to gouge us now that things were in process (and our bathroom torn up), Cody made sure the additional charges were more than fair, and that in the end, we would be taken care of and the job done right. Had a water leak from the outside in a room addition to a manufactured home. The addition was badly done to begin with, but with Cody and his wonderful crew he solved the problem, and now it looks wonderful. We were dealing with mold (yes mold in Arizona!!) on the bottom portion of the wall, sheetrock replacement, and trying to match old vinyl wood flooring, and replacing wood on the outside under the vinyl paneling. Wow! GREAT experience with A1 Home Repair as they completed an extensive home remodeling project. Our initial meeting with Cody, the owner, was impressive. He knew how to ask questions, listen and offer suggestions. We replaced all the flooring, installed new baseboards, gutted the master bathroom, installed light fixtures (some from two story height), interior painting as well as repair of ceiling/painting from DYI light fixture change. We lived with the crew for several weeks. They were always respectful, worked together well, very precise/excellent at what they were doing and exceptional attention to detail. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves! Work was supervised by the project superintendent daily and he was always responsive to our questions. They had come out and given me an estimate. Then I asked for a revised estimate with additional items. For 2 months I would email them and they would respond that I should have it by the end of the week. I never received an estimate and after not hearing from them for two weeks I asked about the estimate and they said they were going to decline working on my home. It is fine if they were too busy, I just wished they could been more responsive and let me know sooner instead of having me wait an unnecessarily long time to just say they cannot do the work. read more

They were the first company I called and when I spoke to Fay to schedule an estimate - she was amazing to talk to. I felt so comfortable with this company even before they started the job. They don't waste any time either cuz they started it the next day which was shocking. I sent in pics of what needs to get fixed and there was no need for an estimate. These guys did an AMAZING JOB! My husband had them come give us a quote on our kitchen remodel. At first they were very responsive, scheduled an evaluation quickly, came out and talked to us, measured, etc. We sent them the appliances we had already picked out. Then we didn't hear from them, had to ask for the quote, finally got it weeks after they had come to our house and the drawing wasn't at all what we bad discussed. It was very basic and simple like they had forgotten our entire discussion. All appliances were wrong, some missing, disappointing. We then reached out again and resent the appliances and asked for an updated design with the correct appliances. We never heard back from anyone. For this reason we decided not to pursue their services and can't recommend them. If they were too busy for our project, we would have preferred they be honest and upfront about it rather than just ignoring us. read more

We had a walk in shower that was leaking for quite some time. I first thought is was a plumbing issue but later determined the shower pan had holes which caused the damage. Called A-1 Home Repair and Cody came out and gave me an initial estimate. After tearing out part of the shower, it was determined the glass block was was causing most of the leaking problem. After discussing our options with Cody, we decided to just have a solid wall. Cody's team did an excellent job. They were very mindful of our house putting down paper over the floors and always cleaning up at the end of the day. They were courteous and punctual. We were very pleased with the final result.
