Extremely Disappointing Experience I do not normally leave negative reviews, but our experience at Race City Amusement Park in Panama City Beach was disappointing enough that I feel others should know. Our group of approximately 25 people, including 16 children, traveled from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Panama City Beach. Before arriving, we called Race City and were told we qualified for a group discount as long as at least 20 people rode. We were given the total cost over the phone. Once we arrived at the park, everyone in our group put their money together to pay for admission. We handed the employees nearly $1,000 in cash. The first employee counted the money and told us we were $17 short. We immediately gave her an additional $20, expecting to receive change. Then another employee came over, recounted the money, and said we were $57 short. We questioned how that could be possible since the first employee had just told us we were only $17 short. The employees then turned away from us and counted the money where we could not see what they were doing. When they turned back around, they gave us yet another amount, saying we were $37 short. Being given three different amounts--$17 short, then $57 short, then $37 short--completely undermined our confidence in the accuracy of the count. We simply wanted the money recounted in front of us so everyone could see exactly what was being counted. Instead, the counting continued out of our view, leaving us uncomfortable with completing the transaction. The General Manager, Matt, came over, but unfortunately he did not make us feel like he wanted to resolve the situation, all while sucking on a drink with a straw . As the manager, I expected him to take control, calmly recount the money in front of everyone, acknowledge our concerns, and work toward a solution. Instead, we felt our concerns were dismissed, and no real effort was made to de-escalate the situation. As a result, our entire group chose to leave. Race City lost nearly a $1,000 admission sale, along with concessions, games, and other purchases that would have easily brought the total to around $1,500. The most heartbreaking part was watching 16 children leave disappointed after they had been excited to spend the day at the park. We had driven more than 300 miles from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, expecting a fun family experience, but instead we left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. I hope Race City reviews its cash-handling procedures, ensures that any disputed cash count is performed in full view of the customer, and provides additional customer service training for its staff and management. Transparency and professionalism go a long way in building trust. Also when I called, they told me Matt was the only one I can talk to and not the owner. I sure hope the owner sees this and respond. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Race City Amusement Park. read more

Paid over $100 for an armband. Waited TWO HOURS in line for the tall go kart track. While next in line at two minutes until 10 (park closes at 11), we were told we couldn't go because armbands expire at 10. They still had time to let us through. Race cars and track were AWESOME!! Fast cars and multi-level track. Bought 4 tickets for my son and I. I unknowingly dropped ticket for our 2nd race out of my pocket when I pulled my phone out. Someone lied when it was found and said it was theirs before I realized it was mine. Explained situation to the manager who was very understanding and didn't make us buy another ticket. Thank u!! Claw game with unicorns w/large heads are not strong enough. Spent $5 on five tries. Grabbed an animal every time, but the claw dropped it every time. read more

The Unlimited Band was a great value for the kids and they rode their favorite rides multiple times Rock and Roll coaster ride was pretty fast and the bumper ride was fun for the younger kids. plan 2-3 hours at the park and you will get great value from the Bands! read more

But anywho this place is not where you want to be in the day time( WAY TO HOT, No shade if so very limited)! The only good thing is there's no Waite for the go karts! lol speaking of don't come here thinking your getting the really large race track next door at Cobras(don't even ask for a refund because there's none)! Granted this place has them too but likely not the track you thought you were coming there to get! Staff was rather rude and acted like us being there was an inconvenience. Seemed like they'd rather be socializing than helping anyone. Witnessed a heated argument between two employees at the racecar track (over a car that wasn't working... Big surprise). When I say that I felt like I might die on one of these rides, I am NOT exaggerating. These rides are old. They are not safe. The guy running the Spider was joking around with us saying that the rides were very old and that we should be worried about our safety blah blah blah as he's getting us into one of the carts... He keeps this little bit going for a few minutes and then comes back around and gets us off the ride and proceeds to tell us that he need to work on the ride and make sure it's safe and runs without anyone on it. We stood around for a while and when we saw him opening up one of the mechanical hatches and peering inside it, we dipped. Also, these rides are not made for tall people (I cover this later). We decided to try another ride. The roller coaster... BIG MISTAKE. This thing didn't even feel sturdy or like it should be running. The half spins make you feel like the cart will legit come off the tracks. It definitely is not made for tall people. My boyfriend is 6'5. His legs would barely fit in the cart and he said he was pretty sure if he hadn't ducked down at several points during the ride then he would have smacked his head on the railing flying by above us. NOW FOR THE GOOD PART! The only part of this entire establishment that is worth a damn is the arcade. All of the games we played were in proper working order. Everything was clean, new, colorful, and brightly lit. Such a welcoming and fun environment. We had a blast. Love the system they have here. Instead of using traditional quarters or tokens you buy a swipe card at a kiosk and load it with points (we got $20 of points for 2 adults and it was enough for us) which you then swipe to play the games. The card keeps up with your points and the tickets you win. At the end of the night we gave our card to a family with small kids so they could use our tickets. read more

I have two teenagers and we were just looking for something else fun to do. Initially we didn't think it would be a good idea, but it turned out not to be too bad. You will want to dress comfortably because there is a water ride that my kids enjoyed. There was a haunted place as well that was fun. Not worth buying the wrist bands what so ever. Sign says someone at least 36" can ride with accompanying adult, but not really. One of the go kart rides, you can't ride it unless you have two people, which doesn't make sense if everywhere else, you can have one person drive in a two seater kart. The other ones are singular and they don't specify that when purchasing the wrist bands, so if you have a little one that wants to ride with a parent, forget about it. $100 went down the drain. I had so much fun here on vacation! Ok so some of the rides are old and rusty, but it adds character in my opinion. Wrist bands were $50 each and my partner and I love amusement parks, so we gave it a shot. All the lines were short, so we rode everything at least once, drove all the go kart tracks, did the fun house, mini golf, and the arcade. The service was awesome, everyone was so friendly and polite. The games and rides were fun, and the fun house and mini golf course were done exceptionally well for a little amusement park. I even managed to hit the jackpot on a game and won a pretty cool prize. There's room for improvement, but this place was well worth the price and I enjoyed myself. They even let you leave and come back later, which not a lot of places do. It was all a really great deal! read more

This was so much fun. $50 a person to have unlimited rides on 3 different go kart tracks, bumper boats, bumper cars, amusement rides, mini golf and a fun house. There's also an arcade. RaceCity is easily the most underrated place in Panama City beach. This place will let you get wrist band for around $50 and you can ride the go karts however long you want, and you can also leave the park with them on and still come back. The tracks there are really fun and never get old. I give this place a 10/10 anyway of the week. read more

When I first went to reviews to see if we'd partake( husband, self, 11 yr old girl and 4 yr old girl) made me nervous. We went anyways. We got all day armbands near $50/ per person and the staff working the rides were so sweet my 4 yr old was scared of a ride so we had to get off but he said come and she rode completely by herself at a much slower pace. She absolutely loved it! Staff is Very very patient and polite. Lots to do indoors and outside. So you get a chance to cool down. Didn't have to wait long for rides either. read more

I think this is a fun place and if you get the unlimited arm band, you can have a lot of fun. My kids enjoyed there time and thought most of the rides were fun. The negatives were the staff. The were drab, felt very down and didn't make the day feel fun. Typically, you would expect local teens or your adults working this place, but this was more like defeated adults that looked tired. My friends and I had a fun night here when we were visiting PCB! I'm surprised by how low of a rating it has here on Yelp. We purchased the unlimited armbands for $42.26+tax per person. That price may sound like a lot, but I think this place offers a lot! You go inside the building that houses the arcade games to purchase either the unlimited armband or an armband specific to what ride you choose. They have 4 different go-kart tracks, 3 suitable for adults and kids and 1 that looked like it's more for just smaller kids. Race City is the place that has the "Golden Gate" go-kart track that's pretty big and noticeable from the street when driving by. We had a lot of fun doing the go-kart tracks! They have an air-conditioned building which includes the Blacklight Mini Golf upstairs and the Sea Maze downstairs. The mini golf consists of 9 holes. We played mini golf earlier in the week for more than ¼ of the price of our unlimited armbands here. The other mini golf place had more holes to play, but you were also outside in the heat and I thought the blacklight concept (and the ac) here at Race City was pretty neat. I wasn't sure what the Sea Maze would consist of when we went in, but it ended up being fun. You walk through and there's parts where you have to figure out what doors you need to push or pull to get through, a mirror maze part, and more. They also had bumper boats, a roller coaster (that I was too scared to ride lol), and more amusement/thrill rides like a big swinging ship, and ferris wheel. This was my first time doing bumper boats. It was a little slower and harder to control than I expected, but it was still fun! They have one hand control for steering and the other one for shooting water at people! I really enjoyed the view when we rode ferris wheel! The only things not included in the unlimited armband are the skycoaster, which is the big, tall bungy thing that you jump from (but you do get a discount on it with the purchase of the unlimited armband), and the arcade games which you have to load money to a card. Overall this place wasn't the nicest or best quality, but I would come back next time I'm in PCB and want to indulge in a fun touristy activity! :) read more

Arcade was okay. Prizes take a lot of tickets to earn even the smallest item. Left with a very upset kiddo as she worked so hard to get a stuffed toy from the machine. The claws on all the machines opened halfway from bringing up the items and then dropped them. We went just to play the mini-golf, and it was way too expensive by itself for a 9 hole course. They did have go-cart "drag racing", which I don't think I've seen before. We didn't try it. Rude customer service! Manager lost business because my 7 year old was on the line of the height requirement and said she couldn't ride. 48 inches is 48 inches. The attendant roughed her up when I asked for a second opinion. Never going back. Oh and don't be fooled, the big go cart track is at the other park. If I could give zero stars I would. Came at 8:30 pm to ride some rides. Noticed their wristbands are only good from 12-8. So we had to spend $50 a person for four go cart races. We are still standing in line for the FIRST RACE!!!! AND ITS 10:30 and the park closes in 30 min. Also at the bottom of the tickets it says same day only. No advice from the cashiers or workers that there would be no way to ride more than once. Basically took $37.50 from me and $37.50 from my daughter for three races each at $12.50. Absolutely the worst place I've been to in PCB. read more

My friends and I went here after putt putt to drive some go karts. It was $9 per single go cart for the Golden Gate race track. It was fun, just a typical go kart arcade area. I haven't gone to a go kart place in awhile so I can't say how prices are but for a couple laps for ten bucks... meh. No line when we went through. We went later at night so we just went for the karts and didn't really check out the other rides and food. They had those bungee swing things as well as a grand prix race area. Our last day in PCB and the kids wanted to come here. Wish 10000 times we could have chosen a different activity for the $175 we spent on our 4 wrist bands. The rides are terribly maintained, everything we rode sounded like it was about to fall apart and the majority of the workers had an attitude, with the exception of a few who were nice and friendly. Several rides had no attendants in sight which made having paid for an "unlimited" wristband seem pointless! If the bands weren't as expensive as they were maybe it would be okay I could see spending $20-25 on something like this. It's comparable to a bad small town carnival with go carts. With all the other activities to choose from at PCB- I would highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. read more

This is the first of my Yelp reviews for my week-long stay at PCB! And, unfortunately, it is not a good one! This place is a RIP. OFF. If you buy Tide pods to do your laundry and your toilet seat is made of gold, you'll probably be fine, because even though it is EXPENSIVE... there is at least a variety of things to do. There were also a ton of preteens and kids there, so I'm guessing it's a fine spot for families. Just take my advice - don't convert points to dollars when you are playing the arcade games.
