The car is the W211 chassis which I've always liked since it first came out. A generally very reliable car. I've been driving BMWs and Mercedes since the 80's and wanted to get her a safe, reliable and low maintenance car. That said owning these cars can be inexpensive but only if you don't let things go too far maintenance wise. You also do need a knowledgeable mechanic and he can save you a LOT of money and lower your Total Cost of Ownership. Before delivering it to her I had my mechanic of 20 years service the car and also had him perform all the minor repairs and work it needed using only new Mercedes parts. Unfortunately a few weeks after being delivered to her the car's alarm decided to fail and began running down her battery silently 3 nights in a row. One of the guys with the service and towing guys suggested Harlan Automotive. I ended up talking to Mike at Harlan Automotive and was very pleased with his technical knowledge and dedication to customer service. He even arranged rides for my mom to get to and from the shop. He fixed the problem the first time for the price agreed, and delivered her repaired vehicle within the promised time window including the ordering and delivery of the new alarm module. I also want to take a moment to address a theme I saw on a couple of other Yelp comments. My sense of things is that Harlan Automotive is an honest shop providing top shelf garage services to drivers who are interested in a fair price to maintain their vehicles. It's not going to be the absolute cheapest place but they're fair, honest, reliable and quality focused. They also stand behind their work and went out of their way to help my elderly mother.

Also, whereas some places would try to convince me that I needed new tires on the rear, they recognized the value of the tires that it had. Finally, while I was there for the repair, I asked if they did the kind of work required to reconnect part of a body panel. They do, and it was repaired by the end of that visit. Plus!!! They did not charge me for that extra repair even though I said that surely I owed them something for the extra work!!! My old car repair people retired, and I was looking for a new home. I've found it.

They had no other vehicles in the shop, so I have no idea why it took so long. The fact that they charge a $15 shop fee on a service they already offer, plus a 3% convenience fee for using a debit card, is beyond ridiculous. It would have been nice to know these fees were going to be charged up front, before making the appointment. An extra, unexpected $30.00 charge on top of the quoted price, is just insane.

Took my rv in to fix motor ac which was blowing air but not cool. They replaced compressor and various other parts. Picked up rv on short ride home seemed to be working. A couple weeks later took rv trip and ac not working. Called cunningham and took back for repair. They said compressor was leaky and replaced it again. They said it was ready for pickup but when i tried it was not blowing any air. I had to wait until Larry got back from lunch then i told him didn't appear to be fixed. Was blowing cold air through defrost but not through front vents. He said i would have to take it to rv place. Wtf? He said he told my husband that from beginning which is bs. Unfortunately my husband want with me. How could he have told him when that wasnt even a problem in the beginning!!! This symptom started only after they worked on rv. So rather than argue i left and of course i was pissed and disappointed. I don't appreciate lying, partially fixing ac, and not to mention treating me like the dumb wife when i am the principle for this rv! Hours of research and youtube videos later... i found vacuum line abraded and replaced. Vacuum line to reservoir hanging down and not reattached. Dumb. Thankfully i was able to fix but have lost all confidence in these supposed ac experts just quitting midstride and leaving me in a lurch! A holes, will not do business with cunningham in murray ky again.
