You buy a property, gut it, and less than a month later (without renos mind you) you put it up for sale $250k more than your purchase price. Make it make sense. The most you should ask for is the purchase price you paid plus demo price. Whoever your agent is in charge of that property is also difficult to work with. While I understand the laws have changed around buyers commission and sellers commission fee, the percentage requested up front is more than the average commission received by sellers today... usually it's 6% total (buyer/seller) and 1% goes to the sellers company, and selling realtor gets 2.5% to 3.0% and buying realtor gets 2.0% to 2.5%. Even then everything should be negotiable between the buyer/seller which is what the law was changed to mean.. Would not recommend anyone deal with Amanda from John greene Realtor.
