Rachel Reiman is incredible! My husband and I got married this past weekend and she did the make up for all my bridesmaids, the moms, grandmas and myself. EVERYONE loved their make up even my bridesmaids who are picky and usually do their own make up. My mom who NEVER wears make up was reluctant to get it done in the first place. When I showed her the pictures of my make up that Rachel had done for our engagement shoot, she was right on board with getting it done. Rachel is kind and patient and she listens to what type of look each girl wants before she starts. She makes you look natural - like yourself but better! When I thought about what I wanted to look like on my wedding day the first thought that came to mind was still looking like myself. I don't wear tons of make up on a regular basis so I didn't want to start on my wedding day. Rachel was the perfect person for the job! Rachel is amazing. I'm not a make-up-y kind of person - I'm typically happy with a coat of mascara and some blush - so the idea of finding a make-up artist that I loved, that my bridesmaids loved, and that my future mother-in-law loved was incredibly daunting. I tried a couple of other artists prior to discovering Rachel and was unimpressed - I wanted to look like me, not some dressed up, glam-rock version of me. Rachel is AMAZING! She is truly a talented make up artist. I was looking for someone who could create a natural yet enhanced look and Rachel did just that. Not only did she do a phenomenal job with my make up but also my 8 bridesmaids and 4 other family member's make up as well! Turned our great day into a nightmare. She ruined my sisters wedding!! Rachel was so rude and inconsiderate. She showed up late and acted like she was doing was doing us a favor by having her do our makeup. When she walked in she complained about the traffic and parking. She didn't even apologize for being late...she had a snotty attitude towards a few of the girls. Her and I got along well, but I didn't care for her attitude. Rachel acted as if she was a celebrity and we were bothering her. Some of the girls had to finish each others makeup. Very average work. Would never hire again. I'm very sorry I hired Rachel Reiman. Rachel literally saved my wedding, but I will get to that later. First I will discuss her immense talent, wonderful ease, and genuine sweetness. Rachel had done the makeup for a few of my friend's weddings last year and I remember thinking at each one, "wow, these girls never looked more beautiful." Needless to say, pretty much the first person I called when I got engaged and set a date was Rachel. As a person who basically booked every vendor for their wedding based on "good vibes" Rachel could not have been a better fit. She is a kind, warm person who could not have made me feel more comfortable. The added bonus to all of that? She's hands down the most talented make-up artist I have ever met. My only instructions to her at my trial were, "I just want to look like me." Well, she hit the nail on the head and I never thought about it again. She is fantastic. Now, the day of the wedding. Everything was going great. My bridesmaids all looked gorgeous and we were running right on time. And then it happened. I had the hair nightmare every bride-to-be has fears. I got up from the hair chair and looked in the mirror and it took everything in my power not to burst into tears. I looked awful and had no time to do anything about it. So as I walked to Rachel's makeup chair in my bridal suite, I sat down and Rachel somehow became my best friend, my sister, and my fairy godmother all rolled into one. She started working on my makeup while calmly talking to me. She told me my hair was awful (fact) and we needed to do something about it (fact). She was the only person with me in that room who was honest and took initiative to help. As I sat in the chair, Rachel was simultaneously doing my makeup for the most important day of my life and texting her hairdresser to get her butt to the Drake to fix my hair. She calmed me down, she made me laugh, and she made my makeup perfect. Before she was even finished with me, Ashley Young (hairdresser/gift from god) had walked into the room. Rachel walked me into a private room away from everyone and sat me down with Ashley. From that point on everything was perfect. Ashley made my hair gorgeous and combined with Rachel's incredible talent, I can honestly say I've never felt more beautiful in my life. If Rachel had not have been there, I do not know what I would have done. I would recommend Rachel to ANYONE and EVERYONE. There are so many little things to worry about for your wedding, and she just isn't one of them. She is the no-brainer of the century people. I am not surprised that all that each review previous to mine are 5 stars. If I could, I would give Rachel 7 stars. She is a true ARTIST and so very TALENTED. I knew for my wedding day that if my makeup and hair went wrong, I would be very upset. (I've gone through far too many disasters to let it happen again). Rachel was super kind, and so warm, and was patient enough to do a trial to ensure I would be completely happy with my look on the big day. I felt like a princess. Rachel absolutely nailed EXACTLY what I wanted and if I re-did my day, I would ONLY go with Rachel & her team. Rachel is THE best! She did my make-up for my wedding this past May as well as a bunch of my bridesmaids, and everyone looked stunning. Rachel is the best...both as a person and as a makeup artist. I'd had a bad makeup trial before finding her that had left me a bit wary. That makeup artist managed to make me look like a completely different person...and not in a good way. More in a woman of the night kind of way. Rachel and I had a good laugh about it later and her horrified reaction to the photo almost made it worth it. But her reaction gave me confidence that she was not going to make me look like that. She took one look at the makeup I was wearing, which is pretty minimal, and suggested a glam'd up version of my everyday look, which was exactly what I wanted. Because I still wanted to look like me on my wedding day...you know, just better. And that's exactly what she did. I couldn't have been happier. And she gave me the info for the lip gloss she used so that I could run out and purchase it to use for touch-ups on the wedding day. On the day of the wedding Rachel did the makeup for myself, my mother, and my maid of honor. Her work was so impressive, though, that the groom's mother decided she wanted Rachel to do her makeup as well. Rachel was so flexible and cool about it and didn't mind at all, which I couldn't have appreciated more. When she was done, we all looked fabulous. Prior to the wedding, Rachel reached out to me and asked if I would like her assistant to stop in after the First Look and portrait photos to do a touch-up. She knew we were going to be taking photos outside and Chicago in August is unkind to even airbrushed makeup. My original plan had been to arm myself with a crap ton of blotting tissue and hope for the best, but her plan seemed way more solid. Her assistant, who was actually Rachel's sister (!), was super nice and touched up both my and my maid of honor's makeup. We really needed it too; the shine from my nose alone would've blinded my groom at the altar. I'm so thankful to Rachel for the amazing suggestion and to her sister for doing such a great job. And it was even better because they're both so sweet and easygoing; it really was a pleasure having them around. They were the best and they really made me feel my best, which is really one of the top wedding goals. I called several local make-up artists to inquire about make-up and hair for my August 21, 2010 wedding...as soon as I spoke with Rachel I knew that she would be wonderful to work with and I booked a trial right away. After meeting with Rachel and Ashley, I knew they were the best! During my consultation trial, Rachel knew exactly the look I was going for and also gave me some great tips and suggestions for color that would work best for me on the big day. She used only the best products and took her time to apply everything flawlessly! She also did make-up for my bridesmaids, Mom and Mother-in-law to be on the big day and did an amazing job - she arrived early and we were all ready by exactly the time we planned for. Ashley was also a joy to work with - I did two hair trials since I changed my mind on the style I wanted. I met Rachel through my sister who had her makeup touched up by Rachel during a video project at the hospital she works at. I was so frustrated and hopeless about finding a makeup artist for my wedding. I had had three trials by that point, and they were all terrible. Rachel uses high quality makeup (Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, etc.), unlike many makeup artists who use drugstore brands and will charge upwards of $180 for bridal makeup. Ridiculous. Rachel immediately understood that I wanted to go for a warm, smoked out eye, soft lip, and flawless base and I was thrilled with both our makeup trial and her work on the day of my wedding. She made my mother and sisters look beautiful as well, and their makeup was done in a similar style to mine, which is what I wanted. I think Renee could be a little more responsive over email and phone and I think she could use more dramatic and high quality lashes than individual Ardell ones (I had her use my own lashes and foundation), but other than that, she is great and I will definitely recommend her to friends! read more

I just had a make up trial with Rachel a few weeks ago at her place and it was the best make up trial I had out of three different local make up artists. I'm extremely picky on make up since I am always interested in make up myself and I have developed my own way of make up to cater the structure of my face. Rachel was very patient and talented that she was able to create the look I wanted after showing a couple pics. She never put a product on my face without asking me. We had fun choosing colors together and discuss about the look. The products she uses are MAC, Double Face, all the top notch ones. She also put some sheer mica in the air brush foundation since I requested to have a more luminous look. Very good precision on the eye liner. It lasted all night. My make up looked fresh, sexy, not over done. It is the first time after a make up trial that I feel like I can walk on the street without feeling like a clown. Had a trial run with Rachel for a benefit event because I was looking for an artist for my son's wedding. I LOVED HER! So she did make up for me (62), Grandmother of Groom (85) and the Bride and her mother, and several friends! She knew the perfect look for each one of us. It is so nice to meet such a wonderful combination of talent and great personality. Having her here was like a slumber party! She did a fabulous job on all of us with a great range in ages, AND it lasted all day. Before the actual wedding day, I did a trial run for the event, then liked her SO MUCH that I had her give me a make up lesson and tell me which products to use.
