After going to a…read moredealership and the locksmith we decide to take advantage of the Ace hardware auto key replacement that they were advertising. Seems like a pretty good value so we tried the Dublin Virginia store first. My daughter went in alone she is 18 year old and the employee working the kiosk totally dismissed her to the point where she got frustrated and left the store. The Blacksburg Virginia store being about equal distance I decided that I would try this store and initially the service was good they did say they would have to order the key for the Volkswagen Jetta and it'll be in 7 to 10 days. After 2 weeks I started calling with varying degrees of customer service but all saying it hasn't came in yet will call you. Finally after nearly a month I called and after a while they said that the key had come in I didn't ask what day I was just glad to get some traction on this issue. After the manager started grinding the key he said that they shipped the wrong one and they were not able to help me he did Apologize gave me a refund but offered no solution for this problem. I understand one employee at one store having a bad day so this has been two separate locations 30 miles apart this may just be a systemic problem with Ace hardware or the automotive key replacement program may not be where it needs to be. In an event I will not be patronizing Ace hardware anytime soon."

We have used them for all of our paint needs for the house, and have been happy with the quality of the products. If they don't have something on hand, they are generally happy to order it. They have basically everything you expect from a small town hardware store and then some. It also operates a little as a museum of natural history --the mom, Gemma, collects minerals and meteorites, as well as historical artifacts. It's worth a gander for that alone.

Seems as if this employee has an attitude towards everyone including peers. Sent wife after a certain item. Sales associate told her that that don't carry that brand and never have. And this ACE Hardware Store on 2303 Williamson Rd NE, in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. ACE ultimate goal is "to be the most helpful hardware store for customers, offering quality products and convenient shopping experiences with expert advice." Through personal experience I have found out that their employees go the extra mile for its customers. And they have such a variety of products, that throughout the Seasons I like visiting the store because you never know what you'll find there. Anything from pumpkins to local honey during this time of the year. As a matter of fact, the other day I had to make a gift of local honey, and here is precisely where I found it. As soon as I walked in a friendly young lady greeted me, welcomed me to their store, and made herself available to help me find anything I needed or was looking for. I could see why their slogan "ACE is the place with the helpful hardware folks," was very true indeed. As I walked through the store I was amazed at all the different products they had in such a limited amount of space compared to places like Home Depot and Lowe's. And their prices if you add the excellent service you get are not bad at all. The service they provide is extraordinary. I read in one of their ads that if you purchase one of their large barbeque grills they will go out to your house and put it together. I waited 2 days for the only person that has the ability to re-key a dead bolt lock to show up at the store. After calling, confirming and driving to the store I was told that he has no idea if and when he can get to it. No apology or anything. Went to Home Depot and found the item at half the price and people happy to help. Aside from being convenient Brambleton Northwest Hardware is a rip off. Save money go to Home Depot.
