My husband is staying overnight. What is the policy on visitors staying with the patient? I live far and do not want to make the drive twice. In addition, he's getting spinal surgery, so I definitely want to stay.

Please call our facility. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you. 818-783-5000

LOL Their service is efficient and courteous. They are respectful to the patient. My daughter went here for leg pain and they were so nice to her. I am extremely disappointed with the care my 3-year-old daughter received at Sherman Oaks Hospital…read more I brought her in because she was clearly not feeling well, and at her age she cannot fully explain what hurts, which makes proper evaluation even more important. During our visit, no doctor ever came in to speak with me--only a nurse. No testing was done at all. They simply checked her blood pressure and heart rate, assumed it was constipation based on my concern, and sent us home with a laxative. Two days later, I took her to her pediatrician, where they immediately did a simple throat swab and diagnosed her with Strep throat. This is something that could have and should have been caught during our hospital visit. It is incredibly frustrating and upsetting to feel like my child's symptoms were dismissed and not properly evaluated. When it comes to young children--especially those who cannot clearly communicate their symptoms--more thorough care and attention is critical. I would not recommend this hospital based on our experience.

The emergency room experience was interesting. Not bad. Not amazing. More like "we're renovating…read moreand everyone is doing their best with the group project." The place looks like it's getting a facelift, so I'll give them that. Fresh walls may be coming. New energy may be loading. But right now the organization still feels like it's buffering. The doctor was cool. That helped a lot. Calm energy. Normal conversation. Didn't make the visit feel heavier than it already was. In an emergency room, that matters because nobody pulls up there for fun. Nobody is saying, "Let's see what the ER is doing tonight." You want people who can make a stressful situation feel a little less chaotic. The security setup was the confusing part. You can walk in with the patient without being registered as a guest, but once you step out, now it's a whole process. Badge. Registration. Security check. Side quest unlocked. Why not just do that at the beginning? It felt like airport TSA designed a scavenger hunt inside a hospital. Some of the machines weren't working when we got there, so getting vitals checked took a while. That was weird. It's an emergency room. The machines should be awake before we are. A hospital with machines not working is like Starbucks saying the coffee machine is down. Technically possible. Emotionally unacceptable. The receptionist was definitely having a day. I get it. We all have those. But at a hospital front desk, the vibe matters. People are stressed. Worried. Confused. Already thinking WebMD gave them three hours to live. A little warmth would go a long way. You don't need Disney cast member energy. Just maybe less "you interrupted my villain origin story." The atmosphere felt like a hospital mid-glow-up. Construction energy. Moving parts. A few systems that need tightening. Not terrible. Just noticeably not smooth. Overall, the experience was still good because the doctor and staff helped keep things steady. But the ER flow could use better organization, working equipment, and a front desk vibe that says "we got you" instead of "why are you bleeding near my paperwork?" it's giving... Grey's Anatomy if the hospital admin team had one group chat and nobody checked it.

Our experience, almost from start to finish, was amazing! We went to the ER and were taken in almost immediately. Testing and diagnosis happened rapidly, and my wife was treated quickly. We have been to ERs where we thought "is anyone paying attention?" It was not like that at all. The nurses were friendly, professional, and attentive. Most impressive of all was our doctor, Dr. Cynthia Pfieffer, whose genuine compassion and warm demeanor has us both considering establishing this hospital as our primary care facility.

Instead of human kindness, it was heal thy self with an insincere smile. Not everyone graduates at the head of their class! And this guy is proof of that.. This guy was pompous and full of himself. My wife went in with 183/104 blood pressure, not critical, but 3 days before she was admitted with 104 temp and high BP, and ended up with an angiogram. We needed advice on how to balance all her new medications...NOT His advice was to NOT take her blood pressure at home, only at the Doctors office or hospital. That BP is only a number and she should rely on how she feels not the number!!! Said if she feels flush take a xanax and if headache tylenol then make an appointment with doctor. Really???? Yet 1st thing they do is take BP, go figure. So, if my wife strokes out this weekend guess we read her feeling wrong, I did not go to medical school, but I think blood pressure can give you a better understanding of what is going on with you body...guess we should stop taking temperature also...it's only a number. I hate to rate so low, but Henry Mayo is looking pretty good right about now. We know better than to take his bad advice, but I feel for the people that trust the white coat and end up with a stroke or worse. This guy never treated her blood pressure, and sent her home with a BP of 170/104. Not critical, but 5 days ago she spiked over 230/129.. we were trying not to repeat that.. but he only saw her when he released her, once in total for about 5 minutes (and that was mostly a lecture on do not take your own blood pressure) Moral.. be cautious, trust but verify. Sometimes even Doctors are just idiots on parade.

The Kaiser process breaks down when the patient is in the middle of care and sent home after surgery. Getting in touch with our surgeon was impossible. We had to start with the call center and explain everything each time to a new person what we needed. This makes it very difficult for families doing home care. My wife's surgeon did a wonderful job until he didn't. He sent her home without much follow-up and a terrible pain management plan. She should have been kept as an inpatient due to the amount of pain for her type of surgery. Dr. Stephen James Torres has poor bedside manner due to his absence.. He barely met with my wife post-op. Then the recovery nurse called and he prescribed another stronger medication while we were talking. However, this was another opiate. This would have had her on 2 opiates in rotation. The Pharmacist even had concerns for this pain management at home. We had to call "get care now " and that nurse recommended we don't rotate meds. She also said we should go back to ER. My wife toughed through this ordeal, but she shouldn't have had to deal with this at home. Demand another Dr and inpatient care for the safety of the patient. Oh! The cafeteria was decent.

I came in person on the 29th and had the privilege of meeting Charles. He had been my uncle's nurse from the very beginning, and from our first interaction it was clear how dedicated he is. He was communicative, informative, patient, and attentive, taking the time to explain things clearly and making sure all our concerns were addressed. When I left that day, I felt a deep sense of peace and confidence knowing my uncle was truly in good hands. On the 30th, we were blessed to have Charles again. When I called the nurse's station, he went above and beyond by asking the nurse to give me his work phone number so I could communicate directly with him. That level of compassion, accessibility, and commitment is rare and meant so much to our family during a stressful time. Mission Community Hospital is truly blessed to have Charles Robinson on their team. He exemplifies what it means to provide above-and-beyond nursing care, and he absolutely deserves recognition for his professionalism, kindness, and dedication to his patients and their families.

I recently visited this hospital which from what I could tell mostly catering to the indigent population. This hospital is right in my own back yard and I never even knew it was there. Wait times were excessively long for what seemed like no reason. I was there for two days and most of the staff seemed to be goofing off instead of tending to patients. My regular hospital is Cedar Sinai. There I get bombarded with a request for my birthday every 15 minutes. It is considered a secondary form ID, which is required by law. I was never asked once for mine here even though blood was drawn, X-rays were taken, I was asked to pee in a cup and I was given medication. I i'm showing this wristband with little worry because the information is so far from being correct that it doesn't matter. No one ever noticed. I guess there, close enough is good enough. Employees kept asking me questions without identifying who they were and then got mad when I asked. My name is not correct, Neither is my birthday. By law those are the two major identifiers which must be confirmed before any action can be taken. I know because I am a licensed phlebotomist. It is a low key medical facility masquerading as a hospital with low key staff that don't give a crap! The only correct information on this ID bracelet is my last name.
