My husband is staying overnight. What is the policy on visitors staying with the patient? I live far and do not want to make the drive twice. In addition, he's getting spinal surgery, so I definitely want to stay.

I asked the valet guy, I have a handicapp placard, do I still have to pay for parking $10 he replied yes. Not happy about that. 2 issue - Bathroom at front entrance nasty! The cold water did not work, seat covers all over the floor. Under sink the floor looked nasty. The latch to flush toilet was nasty. The whole bathroom looks outdated and dirty. 3rd - Issue went to waiting room (2nd floor same day surgery). There were 2 large trash bins on wheels blocking 1/2 the entrance, walked in to see worker sitting in waiting room eating lunch or something, she didn't get up to move those bins. That's a first to walk in a waiting room and worker sitting and eating all while blocking entrance. 4th issue for now - Brought husband for same day procedure/surgery. They said be here by 1pm, surgery scheduled between 2pm-3pm. What's with the between! Just found out 1/2 ago. They are behind schedule, they haven't even done the patient scheduled for 12pm. I'm concerned about lack of responsibility to have a schedule. If it were me, I'd walk out now and tell my Doctor to schedule my surgery at another hospital!! I'll be back with an update.

The staff were extremely kind and pleasant, very caring, very good bedside manner from all doctors and nurses I encountered. They listened to all my concerns, addressed them, treated me and sent me on my way. I realize they're not as big a hospital as others in the area, but for what I needed to go in for, it was the perfect place to go. Facility itself is a little older, but I'm so glad I came here instead of Valley Presbyterian, whom I've had horrible experiences with. It was the complete opposite of the treatment I got at Sherman Oaks. Keep up the caring, great work SOH! I'd definitely recommend this hospital to others. Thank you for caring

I am extremely disappointed with the care my 3-year-old daughter received at Sherman Oaks Hospital…read more I brought her in because she was clearly not feeling well, and at her age she cannot fully explain what hurts, which makes proper evaluation even more important. During our visit, no doctor ever came in to speak with me--only a nurse. No testing was done at all. They simply checked her blood pressure and heart rate, assumed it was constipation based on my concern, and sent us home with a laxative. Two days later, I took her to her pediatrician, where they immediately did a simple throat swab and diagnosed her with Strep throat. This is something that could have and should have been caught during our hospital visit. It is incredibly frustrating and upsetting to feel like my child's symptoms were dismissed and not properly evaluated. When it comes to young children--especially those who cannot clearly communicate their symptoms--more thorough care and attention is critical. I would not recommend this hospital based on our experience.

Instead of human kindness, it was heal thy self with an insincere smile. Not everyone graduates at the head of their class! And this guy is proof of that.. This guy was pompous and full of himself. My wife went in with 183/104 blood pressure, not critical, but 3 days before she was admitted with 104 temp and high BP, and ended up with an angiogram. We needed advice on how to balance all her new medications...NOT His advice was to NOT take her blood pressure at home, only at the Doctors office or hospital. That BP is only a number and she should rely on how she feels not the number!!! Said if she feels flush take a xanax and if headache tylenol then make an appointment with doctor. Really???? Yet 1st thing they do is take BP, go figure. So, if my wife strokes out this weekend guess we read her feeling wrong, I did not go to medical school, but I think blood pressure can give you a better understanding of what is going on with you body...guess we should stop taking temperature also...it's only a number. I hate to rate so low, but Henry Mayo is looking pretty good right about now. We know better than to take his bad advice, but I feel for the people that trust the white coat and end up with a stroke or worse. This guy never treated her blood pressure, and sent her home with a BP of 170/104. Not critical, but 5 days ago she spiked over 230/129.. we were trying not to repeat that.. but he only saw her when he released her, once in total for about 5 minutes (and that was mostly a lecture on do not take your own blood pressure) Moral.. be cautious, trust but verify. Sometimes even Doctors are just idiots on parade.

1 star -- Horrible and traumatizing experience…read more Dr. Harri H. Ahn was the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I came in after experiencing a traumatic situation where i had been drugged and sexually assaulted. I was trying to explain what happened and ask for testing and medical help, but instead of feeling supported, I felt like I was being questioned and treated as if I was not telling the truth. At one point, the doctor said, "At this point it sounds like you're lying. I don't believe you because you keep changing your story." Hearing that as someone trying to seek help after a traumatic experience was devastating. This type of response is exactly why many survivors are afraid to come forward. When a nurse came in to draw my blood, I asked what the blood work was for because nobody had explained anything to me. Instead of calmly explaining, I felt like I was spoken to as if I should already know. Communication and informed consent are extremely important, especially in a situation like mine. The doctor also asked me, "So what do you want me to do? What type of exam?" I was shocked because I came to a medical professional for guidance and care -- I did not know what exams or tests I needed. I requested a female doctor, but I was told none were available. Because I no longer felt comfortable or safe continuing care there, I decided to leave. Before leaving, I asked about the pregnancy test they said they would do, and I was told it would not be done because I was leaving. I was then asked to sign paperwork stating that if i d*e after leaving, it would not be their responsibility. After this experience, I went to the UCLA Rape Treatment Center, I was treated with kindness, patience, and respect. They listened to me and helped me through the process. I hope this review encourages medical professionals to remember that patients coming in after trauma need compassion, not judgment.

He never lost his cool even though it required multiple calls to my doctor's office. He was helpful, efficient, and thorough. And everyone who works here that I've encountered has been friendly. One of the ladies at the front desk of radiology was wonderfully proactive in checking when a technician could come and see me. Much appreciated. Biggest down side is if you park in the lot to the right of the hospital (near Renaissance Imaging), you have to walk a ways to get to the hospital entrance. And if you want validation, you may get a bit of a run around. To get my ticket validated, security referred me to Admin's front desk. While I'm grateful for the medical treatment itself, the way I was treated by portions of the nursing staff was unacceptable. Throughout my stay, I felt ignored, talked down to, and treated with a complete lack of compassion and respect. Instead of feeling cared for during a vulnerable moment, I felt like I was an inconvenience. I also personally observed a member of the nursing staff asleep at the nurses' station while I was still a patient, which raised concerns about attentiveness and patient care. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, professionalism, and empathy. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I have filed or am filing formal complaints with the appropriate hospital departments and regulatory agencies so these concerns can be investigated. I sincerely hope the hospital takes these concerns seriously and works to improve how patients are treated.

THIS REVIEW IS A DUPLICATE TAKEN MADE ON A DUP ACCOUNT BY MISTAKE…read more Mission Community Hospital Probably the worst medical experience I have ever had. I recently visited this hospital which from what I could tell mostly catering to the indigent population. This hospital is right in my own back yard and I never even knew it was there. Wait times were excessively long for what seemed like no reason. I was there for two days and most of the staff seemed to be goofing off instead of tending to patients. My regular hospital is Cedar Sinai. There I get bombarded with a request for my birthday every 15 minutes. It is considered a secondary form ID, which is required by law. I was never asked once for mine here even though blood was drawn, X-rays were taken, I was asked to pee in a cup and I was given medication. I i'm showing this wristband with little worry because the information is so far from being correct that it doesn't matter. No one ever noticed. I guess there, close enough is good enough. Employees kept asking me questions without identifying who they were and then got mad when I asked. My name is not correct, Neither is my birthday. By law those are the two major identifiers which must be confirmed before any action can be taken. I know because I am a licensed phlebotomist. It is a low key medical facility masquerading as a hospital with low key staff that don't give a crap! The only correct information on this ID bracelet is my last name.
