Updates: based on the great RAK food we had at the MOAD, we asked Chef Aseged to cater a party for us. It was a joy to have him in our home and the food was phenomenal. Everything was prepared perfectly, professionally done, and everyone raved about the food. Thank you Chef and staff!

Great tasting food! A neighborhood gem! The fresh prawns were divine and excellent flavor profile.

Prawns with harissa sauce, spinach & couscous. Soup and Beets salad! Soo GOOD.

Ahhhh, now THIS is SOULFOOD. My taste buds were tantalized by the delicious dishes! I had the prawns, spinach and couscous dish with the beets side salad. Absolute perfection. The chef (owner) was warm and welcoming. I came for the 1st Tuesdays Spoken Word event. It was cozy and warm inspiring. I'll be back.

I had a great experience at Radio Africa Kitchen! I came in today for lunch with my coworkers (~12 people). We were a bit worried since only the owner was working and we had so many people, but he was able to to take our orders and serve us in a swift time frame . I was really impressed! The food came out with great presentation and all the ingredients smelled and tasted really fresh. The chicken jambalaya had a little bit of spice, but even I was able to handle it without much issue even though I'm pretty sensitive to spicy. I also tried the hibiscus lemonade which was not too sweet and really refreshing. The ambiance of the place is very mellow and I enjoyed all the plants inside. Overall great experience and a gem in the Bayview district, would definitely come back again!

Stumbled in here with a hungry friend looking for food. It is a lovely African restaurant with a menu that has options for everyone (vegan, vegetarian, meat lover) and I encourage everyone to go try it if you're in the area! Our server was very kind and friendly and since he knew we were staaarving, he brought us some samples of their soup to hold us off while our meals were being prepared (a true hero!). I had the Chicken Jambalaya and NO it's not the jambalaya you ate with your cousins in Houston but it also won't give you indigestion and high blood pressure. It's a very refreshing, healthy, and light (but filling) version of the dish with African/Ethiopian twists and (gasp) kale! Do try it, you won't be disappointed and they also include a hearty amount of chicken and shrimp! Can't wait to be back soon!

This place is a hidden gem! I've had two of their vegan lentil dishes and they were both great. Lots of fresh vegetables and excellent flavours. This hibiscus tea is also amazing! Prices are pretty decent too. This place is a hidden gem and definitely one of my favourite places in the city!

We had a meal catered by Radio Africa Kitchen, and boy was it Y-U-M-M-Y! I ate... - Pomegranate chicken - Vegetable tagine - Couscous This is a quick and easy review. In one line: the food was really great! I can't say what the actual restaurant is like, but my mouth and stomach were happy - as was everyone else's. The flavours were wonderful, meat was good quality, and everything played together nicely. It reminded me of all the delicious meals I had in Marrakesh!

Free bread I think gotta ask for it!

We tried out Radio Africa & Kitchen in the Bayview area of SF. We took the T-Muni line which can be crowded during a game night, if there's a game go earlier or later then people trying to reach AT&T Park. Otherwise, just drive over, looks like there's street parking nearby. They have a Happy Hr menu from 5:30-7pm every day, gotta mention it to the wait staff because it's not listed on their menu, but it's on their website. It's $25pp & everyone in the table needs to get it. We passed because we didn't want 2 of the same desserts. Music is played Loud here - maybe you can ask them to turn it down. Ask for FREE bread & olive oil. They don't offer to you, gotta ask for it. It was fine. We got 2 Mezze, 2 Main. 1 side: white corn soup w/ yellow chives & serrano chiles $6 - small bowl, a bit spicy with the chile, I wish they put more in the bowl because it wasn't filled up! Saffroned prawns w/ green beans & almonds $8- you get a bunch of shrimp, pretty tasty, beans w/ almonds fine. Grilled leg of lamb $15- it was pretty tasty, some greens on top. Chicken jambalaya w/ prawns - $14 - B. B. really liked this dish, said best dish he's had in a long time & we eat out tons. Cauliflower gratin $8 - some cauliflower w/ black lentils on top. Fine, nothing special. Total before tip $55.46. It was nice to try, not in any hurry to return.

Entree tasting plate! Left to right: eggplant with pearled Israeli couscous, lentil samosa, wild barramundi, and lamb. Tasty!

TIP: They usually have a livingsocial for a tasting menu for 2. Where else can you find a Michilin recommended restaurant that does that?! I want to love this place. I really, really do. But I don't think it's going to happen. Let me just say right off the bat: this place is great. The tasting was definitely worth it - 5 courses comprised of: (1) 2 soups, a mild cauliflower and a slightly spicy butternut squash, (2) sauteed prawns with a crab-smoked trout spread served with bread and beet salad, (3) a standard green salad to share with 4 crimini mushroom crostinis with baked parmesan, (4) an extremely generously portioned entree tasting plate, and finally (5) flourless chocolate cake a la mode with pear. We liked everything except the black lentil samosa, which could just be a cultural thing, but it had a funky aftertaste and didn't really mesh with the other entrees. The Wild barramundi looked fantastic, but needed a little salt, as it was kind of flavorless beneath the skin. We loved the lamb shoulder with couscous, and the eggplant with pearled couscous was tasty as well. The lamb was perfectly tender, and the eggplant was seasoned extremely well and blended perfectly with the couscous. Unfortunately, nothing really "popped" for me. Admittedly, I am no connoisseur of African cuisine, but in general I wasn't SUPER impressed with the service or the food, which came out to ~$110 for two. That being said, the livingsocial brought it down to ~$60, and I really can't complain about that. 5/5 with a coupon, 4/5 without.

When I didn't hear anything via email or a call I called the office and spoke to Ben who apologized for the lack of communication and he would respond via email, which he did a few hours later. After several emails from Ben we were able to settle on a menu in just a few days! We were looking for a Hawaiian fusion themed menu and Ben & his staffto came up with a great menu. W Some of our many items that was a huge hit with our guests were Vietnamese vegan rolls, miso glazed black code, a toss green salad with Edamame and Asian dressing, crab deviled eggs, scallops spoon, chimichuri steak crostini, short ribs skewers, Asian style lamb meatballs, and dessert of fruit cups and mini cupcakes were perfect. There was a few dishes that wasn't as successful but overall everyone enjoyed the food. We had pre arranged to have someone to meet the catering staff early for setup but due to unknown delays they did show up until an hour before the service started which also ment they were rushed to setup the food but they did a good job to get the hot and cold foods setup before the end of the service. Overall they did a good job and the food excellent but arriving late to the event and poor timing to replenish empty dishes was disappointing also dessert wasn't served until most guest departed. We enjoyed working with Ben and appreciated the communication once it was established.

The food is still as good as before. I ordered extra Spam and egg onigiri, but some only came with Spam and no egg; still good, but not *quite* as good!! She also substituted a couple of onigiri for the eggrolls that we don't usually eat, so that's a plus! The tray's presentation was, again, excellent. Garlic noodles were delicious, beef and chicken skewers tender and delectable, cha trung (?) very flavorful, and empanadas yummy!
