Wow when I walked in they do lots of meals more than just pizza and I talked to Juan and he took my order and it came out perfect but I didn't know I got the second one free. The pizza was delicious and the service was awesome and talking to some customers telling me more things about the restaurant and the people who worked here and the food they loved . Have been hesitant on trying a new pizza place for awhile now and finally gave Rafael's a try regardless of the 3 star review. I ordered a 14" pepperoni pizza and got one free delivered. They are not shy on the ingredients and use real cheese along with real sliced pepperoni. The crust was the perfect amount and don't get over filled on the crust. Visited this restaurant for the first time ever last Sunday. It's in a strip mall next to Walmart, and just can't tell much from the outside. Well, glad we gave it a go. Now you have to place your order at the counter. I would have preferred a server, however all things considered, it was fine. The menu has a lot on it. Hard to decide, however with a Buy 1 Get 1 pizza deal we decided on that. One Margarita, and one regular. Who can pass up home made dough?! Then because my mom loves onion rings, we added in an order for good measure. Honestly, I would have given 5 stars, (for the type of restaurant it is), however the margarita pizza did not have fresh basil on it. In fact, I'm not sure I tasted any at all‍. That being said, the flavors on all of it were great, and they don't skimp on their cheese. Onion rings were real, not processed either. I'm looking forward to trying some other dishes. Only odd thing is that the pasta dishes I saw, were served on paper plates. This is an affordable, yummy, local restaurant that deserves to be noticed! read more

I haven't anything but the Greek chicken salad and boy howdy it is BIG. For about $11 you get a full salad and at least 2 chicken breast marinated in Greek marinade. For a big guy like me, I rarely can eat it all. It is always fresh and prepared quickly. It may me of the beaten path but stop here.......it is delicious and hearty. Clean and tastie! I come here about once a month before a club meeting on Tuesday nights. It is however not a go-to place for the family. Upon entering each time the place is always clean and typically crowded. The crowd isn't always a bad thing. Restaurants that aren't busy tend to worry me. I was immediately greeted and placed my order at the walk up counter. Although this isn't a keto restaurant, I was able to order a steak and cheese sandwich without a bun and it was amazing. The portions are large and the flavor has always been great for the value. I've had their pizza as well and it too is just as good. If you're at Walmart or a nearby store and want some good Italian food, stop in, you won't be disappointed. read more

We absolutely love going to Rafael's because no matter what you are hungry for you will probably find it on the menu! My favorite is the Gyro which comes with fries. The meat they use is seasoned just right and you can't find better fries that are crispy yet soft in the middle. Rafael's is that place you always say you might try someday, next to the big Walmart. Well you should try it. It looks to be a simple strip mall pizzeria and by all rights it is, but if you want more than just pizza, they offer a huge menu of pasta, sandwiches, salads and calzones. From Greek gyros to Chicken Piccata, you can choose from a long list of Italian and Greek standards. The food is very good, very very good, served hot and fresh from the oven. A strange but important side point: BEST FRIES EVER. The menu prices are super affordable, especially when you see and taste the food. Cheap food? You get what you pay for. Your meal comes on a paper plate with plastic utensils. It's difficult to eat chicken parm with a plastic fork. The chicken parm comes with meat sauce? I've never seen that before. I swear they use the Hunts tomato sauce that comes in a can. Worst tasting sauce I've ever had. The bread that came with the meal was good and the chicken was ok. My wife and I live in Cohutta and were actually headed to Zaxby's when we saw that it was PACKED. We drove towards Walmart to turn around and I saw the sign, and it reminded me of hearing about the place from some coworkers. I took the risk since we had never eaten it before, and we were both glad! We walked in and saw the variations of the menu and then both decided on the Gyro Plate with a drink. We didn't have to wait but around 5 to 7 minutes before they called for our order to be picked up. Two full trays, one with Greek salads complete with black olives, pepperonci peppers, a wedge of feta cheese and beautiful red onions on a bed of of mixed lettuce. The other tray with a open faced gyro sandwich and a massive helping of French fries, and both of those items were piping hot!! I forgot to mention that our order total was less than $20 for both plates with drinks! Great food, great prices!!! The value was really exceptional as long as you're not into thinking about decor and such. Very nice staff and great eating experience will make us a repeat customer. I love this place, eat here a lot, but I think I'm done...ordered food, they were busy on phones as usual...what I suspect is my food came up, when they got off of the phones, Tiny woman with very long hair, started chatting and continued to tell the man a story...finally got my order sat it on the desert cooler and continued to talk, but now she is running her hands thru her hair, over and over, then makes a ponytail. I know! Don't go to Rafael's if your looking for good food. But wow, I ordered the special spaghetti with meat sauce, veggies, etc. I got noodles and tomato flavored water. The whole mess was covered with gloppy cheese to hide the scam. The owner knows the meat sauce is his most expensive ingredient, so he doesn't give you any. Funny. I got the manicotti and asked for it with Alfredo instead of marinara. Had I known that the manicotti was pre frozen with marinara on it already and all they were going to do was just scrape it off, I definitely would have ordered something else. Everyone in my party had a subpar experience. We have been to another location of this chain before, in Ringgold GA, and it was only mildly better. Disgrace to "Italian Food" I went on my lunch break to get a order of just the basic spaghetti and when I returned to work and got the bag out I noticed the bottom of the bag was full with red water, I guess known as their sauce, which also caused to bread to become soggy and had to wipe everything off as I pulled it from the bag. I moved passed that thinking the food surely would taste good oh no WRONG AGAIN a full box of over cooked noodles with very little sauce and the most bland meatballs known to man. AWFUL!! Don't forget the salad that I paid for that come with one baby sliver of carrot, one slice of cucumber and one end slice of tomato but I guess the lettuce in the salad give this the one star. Have been going here for years. As stated in a couple of other reviews, the food and service has drastically declined over the past year or so. The people working there will sometimes be ok and sometimes be rude. Just depends on the kind of day they are having. The food is cheaply priced, but cheaply made. A couple of years back this place rocked! Past 6 months or so have been disappointing. About the only thing that is really good is the pizza. I have not been disappointed with the pizzas; just the sandwiches and pasta. Take it or leave it, but do not take it expecting a wonderful meal, as you will be disappointed. read more

The food and service has declined drastically. I hadn't eaten there in over a year. A few days ago I decided I would grab a steak and cheese (my favorite) , at this time I witnessed a man blow his nose on a napkin at the food prep counter and not wash his hands. My food was already waiting in the window, I still paid but I wouldn't dare eat it. Cleanliness is a MUST, and I was beyond disappointed to say the least.
