My hair was in serious need of some major professional TLC -- alas, I had not established a new stylist since the last shop closed up. So what's a girl to do? Well, I went looking and found Hair Nation on Tiverton in Lexington, KY. From my initial phone call with Courtney, until I walked out the door well coiffed, the service was phenomenal. Many of what might be termed "upscale" salons can be pretentious. Many of the friendliest places tend to not be cutting edge. Hair Nation is a perfect blend of the two - which is exactly what you want. High end hair care and styles with personable folks staff who listen to you. The ease of making an appointment and the welcoming way you are greeted by Courtney, makes a diva feel pampered, as she should be. Little chocolate covered grapes are yours for the indulging and you are immediately offered complimentary coffee, tea, or water. Social distancing and cleaning are in place and soon you are whisked away for your private consult with your stylist. I was fortunate enough to get Stephanie's chair for this, my first visit. How glad I did. Stephanie asked questions, listened, and provided exactly what my quarantine hair needed. The products she suggested were the ones I were going to ask about myself. She suggested but was never pushy about products She gave me a stellar haircut and took time to style it meticulously. There are lots of good reasons to go to Hair Nation, but Stephanie and Courtney , might just be the best two reasons for making an appointment. Heavy metal rocks the front of the house while you wait for your stylist, while zen-like tranquility is yours at the wash station. Prices were very reasonable and service was extraordinary. And in just a while I walked out of the salon feeling like a million bucks while spending nowhere near that. I highly recommend you give them a try. I don't think you'll be sorry you did. Viktoriya was my stylist & although we weren't able to get the red out of my hair she did a great job at making me feel comfortable with how I left & barely charged me for anything she did today. I will be back in a couple days to try to get the rest of the red out. I highly recommend hair nation & viktoriya as a stylist. Update: I went back today to finish getting rid of my red hair & it went fantastic! I am in love with my new hair!

I didn't love the cut and the salon experience wasn't enough to bring me back. When I arrived, I was intrigued by the setup. Several individual service providers, in the space. I found Chrissy and her little spot. I liked that we could talk, without interruption of other people. Her area is comfortable and clean. We chatted about my expectations and I showed her pictures of the look I wanted to achieve. She started the process with a wonderful message. The cut and style were done while we chatted. She asked me questions and adjusted her approach with my input. I left with the style I had asked for. It's a great cut! I am beyond pleased with my decision!

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter and specifically called the salon in advance to explain that she has very thick hair and would likely need additional appointment time. Despite that conversation, the appointment was not scheduled for enough time to complete the requested services. As a result, the stylist ran out of time, my daughter did not receive the haircut that was scheduled, and we left with highlights that were not completed to the standard we expected. What has been most frustrating has been the effort required to get the issue addressed. I contacted the salon hoping to simply have the services corrected. Instead, I spent several hours over multiple conversations trying to resolve the situation. While I understand the need to gather information, the process felt unnecessarily difficult and was met with repeated explanations rather than clear solutions. I never requested a refund--only an opportunity to have the haircut completed and the highlighting corrected. Unfortunately, after investing significant time trying to work through the issue, I still do not feel that a reasonable resolution has been reached. Based on my experience, Cha Cha's provides excellent service when everything goes as planned. However, if a problem does arise, my experience suggests that resolving it may be far more challenging than it should be. Update: To be clear, I was coordinating the conversation because McKenna was placed under my account by your staff. I was not refusing to let you speak with her. The current process of calling in, then waiting for texts or return calls later in the day, does not work well with her schedule and has made it very difficult to get this resolved in a straightforward way. Based on the photos, I am not sure what additional information is needed. The service was not completed as expected, and the highlights were not well done. Yes, McKenna would like the issue corrected. At this point, I would appreciate a direct call so we can discuss the next step and get this resolved.

When she was done, she looked like an extra from the 80s show Dallas. Big hair... all she needed were shoulder pads. Lashes coming off, eyeshadow unblended, winged liner was horrible, it was uneven and going downward. (I had her fix it and it looked even worse so I asked her to remove it) foundation didn't match me at all. it looked like a 5 year old did my makeup. I wouldn't be surprised if the girl had never done makeup before in her life. It was shameful to do that to someone and let them walk out looking that bad. To think that you would be okay letting someone look like that on their wedding day is extremely upsetting. I ran home and wiped it all off as fast as I could. The hair was fine.
