What my wife and I were drawn to about Emma's photos when we were shopping around, and what we saw reflected in our own photos, is her ability to capture little moments. She has a great sense for when something subtle but meaningful is happening, like a family member starting to tear up, or a speechgiver's friend in the crowd laughing at their joke. That's what is really valuable about the photos to us, and something I am not sure every photographer can get you. She is also a consummate professional. She is efficient and purposeful-she makes sure she captures all the important moments without consuming your whole day with photos. She provides clear instructions, which is helpful as the wedding couple, but is even more helpful when you are taking family photos with several different combinations of people. Emma is also so kind and lovely to be around. I normally do not like having photos taken of me, and it can be uncomfortable to be in that many photos, making serious faces, and allowing someone in during a highly emotional day. Emma makes that whole process comfortable and enjoyable. You can tell she has a real passion for doing this and truly enjoys getting to know the couples. Her friendliness and confidence put you at ease. This is a really important point-you spend as much time with the photographer on your wedding day as anyone else! Emma is a great person to spend that time with. I also want to note that all of the above is also true of Emma's assistant. Again, I am so sorry I am forgetting her name. But she was in charge of getting most of the groom and groomsmen photos at the beginning of the ceremony, and was such a pleasure to work with. They gave us plenty of time to settle and feed the baby, and even when she spit up all over their couch, they were nothing but kind and reassuring.
