Great place to see a primary care physician. NP Iskarous is very caring and attentive to my concerns

Not my Dr yet. I called to inquire about their services, etc to see if I would be a match for Dr becoming my new PCP. Front Desk was friendly but didn't put in much effort to answer questions about hospital and urgent care affiliations. For me personally that may be the level of service i will get if I switch to this office so I'll continue to search for a fit, hopefully find another Dr with more engaged front desk. Never answers the phone. Is nasty inside. The medical assistant tried to sit me in a room that was just used and dirty.

On June 2, I had an ultrasound done. I was told that they would be ready at 7 to 10 days. I called 20 days after to Dr Ragaa Office, I left a message.. two days later I called again cause I got no call back. Someone answered and said I will have the doctor review this. They haven't reviewed. It will call you back. Nobody ever called me back. I called back three days later and left a message in the morning and then I left another message in the afternoon an hour before they close they called me back and said that they didn't call me back because I was fine which really upset me because I haven't been feeling well and I wanted to know what the results were which left me in limbo. The person giving me the results told me that if I wasn't happy with the services I could go to another provider that there was that they could do. I explained to her that I am also a business owner and that I will not be OK with somebody talking to a client not much less talking to a patient that way I am not asking for anything free I paid for my services my deductible my doctor visit so I am not asking for anything free, and I told her that instead of being so rude that they could work on being more professional and getting things done in a timely manner they do not care about the patients they do not care about being professional from the doctor to their office extremely rude. She basically just said if you don't like it go somewhere else they are not concerned about your health or well-being. They only want the money. God only knows what they're charging the insurance company. read more

I went to Ragaa Z. Iskarous' office and was seen by Dr. Jeffrey Reiss. During the visit, I felt he was extremely disrespectful and in a noticeably bad mood. He also spoke to his staff in a way that seemed unprofessional. I had surgery only a few days ago, yet he did not physically examine my surgical wound. Instead, he asked to see a photo and did not conduct any in-person inspection. When he asked when my surgery took place, I replied that it was sometime this month. Since it is only February 2, I momentarily confused the month and thought we were still in January. In a condescending tone, he responded, "Do you mean January?" I also explained that the reason for this surgery was the same as my previous one in October, assuming he had reviewed my prior notes. He responded, "How am I supposed to know if I wasn't there?" Overall, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. I will be seeking care from a different physician moving forward. read more

This is the worst doctor's office I've ever ever encountered. It is unacceptable to wait over an hour with an appointment to see the doctor. Most of the doctors are rude, have no bedside manner, and always seem in a rush to just push you out the door. No professionalism!!! Every single time I have to wait over an hour and that's with an appt. I hate coming here and I will be changing doctor's office. If I could give them a zero, I would. For a doctors office, they lack people skills, no professionalism at all. Particularly Jasmine, she has NO PEOPLE SKILLS what so ever. I was having an asthma episode right before my appointment so I called to let them know I was going to be a few minutes late because I have to use my nebulizer. She had the nerve to tell me I had to reschedule for another 2 weeks. Takes forever and the girls behind the counter have quite the attitude. I heard them talking about the patients in the back room while I was waiting in the front. I believe it was the medical assistant who was complaining to the receptionist saying, "The fuck? Her daughter or whatever is asking me all these questions being rude". I had to call their office multiple times throughout the day to finally get my call answered, it usually always went to their voicemail, even during business hours. I have been a patient of Dr. Iskarous for several years. I am so happy to have her as my PCP. She listens and unlike many practices today, takes the time to offer insight, sound advise and great bedside manners going over and above the standard of care. I am also happy to include Jazmin who on a busy day offers options and accomodates patients that often flood the waiting room. They come here for the same reasons that I do. Dr. Iskarous, thank you for caring for me the way that you and your staff do. This office is located on the 2nd floor of a corner lot that backs into Downey High School field. First visit to my Primary Care physician today. Everything went very well. I filled out my paperwork, and was seen by the doctor relatively quickly thereafter. The OFFICE was not overly full of patients and things rolled along at a reasonable pace. The FRONT DESK was friendly and attentive. The NURSING STAFF was kind and very nice. Dr. Reiss was very chill and experienced. He was extremely patient while listening to my long list of ailments (I am a sick man, lol). I got my long list of diabetes supplies and prescriptions written up, and there is a pharmacy conveniently situated downstairs, although you may fill your Rx' anywhere you like. The Dr. also made several referrals to specialists, which I desperately need, so I am happy. The BUILDING is decent, with parking in the rear, but it was full when I arrived. I saw 2 handicap spots available. There is an ELEVATOR, which you can use to get to the 2nd floor, where their office is located. Now, I am sure that I could find something to complain about, if I really wanted to, but all things considered, my needs were met and nothing huge stood out. One thing that I will mention is that the "sanitary" paper that covers the exam table looked wrinkled, as if a patient had already laid down on it. But really, if someone has an infectious disease, how much is that tissue paper really going to protect? All in all, I am a happy camper. And this experience was MUCH BETTER than some of the other local offerings. read more

Dr. Iskarous has been my PCP for over 10 years now. Yes, you'll be waiting a lot in her office. But in my experience, the wait is worth it. She has always been very thorough and very patient with me. Her bedside manner is very professional and her religious beliefs are very comforting. I've only appreciated the care of one her PA's, but she is no longer with the practice (Priti was the name???). I've learned to be very specific when making my appointments, to only choose dates where I'll be seen by only Dr. Iskarous. I had to take my son to her Urgent Care one evening because there were broken water lines at his Urgent Care. We were seen pretty much right away, and my son received the same care as I would have. She has a new upgraded office building located out of Stonewood Mall. The parking is is small, but it is only shared with the pharmacy downstairs, and I've never had a problem parking there. read more

If you value your health, please go literally anywhere other than here. The entire office (lobby, administrative office, and examination rooms) is dirty and unkempt, the staff are unhelpful and rude, and all of the current doctors on staff are dismissive and uncaring. Dr Reiss needs to retire or take some continuing education on bedside manner because he truly was the worst part of the experience. He should be ashamed of the "care" he provides because his inaction resulted in my health conditions worsening. These clowns deserve zero stars and the Medical Board of CA should revoke their license. read more

They take too long and sometimes it seems like they can't even hear you out, many people that come in seem to complain as well.

I waited 3 hours for a physical. I had to close these blinds (and every time I come in, doesn't matter which room I get, the blinds are always open), They hardly ever knock before entering a room (even as they quickly step out during the examination) My advice, keep your clothes on for as long as possible if you don't want to give a show I've had only one good doctor here and unfortunately she left and they won't let her patients know where she is. The wait is ridiculous! I had a 10am appointment and as of 11:35am I am still waiting to be seen. I don't recommend this place at all!!

If I can place a ZERO star I would.. 1 star is not even worth giving to this place. came to this place to take my daughter for urgent care. Only 2 other people waiting so I thought that was great. did my check in and everything. Come to find out they don't accept card onku cash on copays.. so that's fine.. but sitting there for an hour with 2 other patients made me ask the front desk how long will it take for the wait.. and they said they don't know.. I then asked some of patient waiting and they said they take really long time there with no other patients.. WHY ADVERTISE for urgent care and emergency if service is this slow. She is very professional dr. and has good communication skills. She could totally listen to my many questions and took care of me. She is very decent and nice person. The receptionist is cold and doesn't even look at you...they take patients on a first come basis and not according to urgency (this was an urgent care visit). My dad had vertigo and was shaking... waited for the people ahead of him to be called before he was called. When I voiced the urgency I was told that I could call 911 if he needed it?! I never comment on PCP offices and everyone's health issues are different. Not to get into PHI issues... I work for the healthcare industry. I chose this PCP as it was close to my house and convenient. Worst office ever! I received a bill for one of my office visits. I tried to call in the phone # on the bill to pay my copay. I was advised that i had to call the specific office in Downey, not the phone #on the bill. I called the office directly, I was told I could not pay over the phone and had to go in office. I went In office, the receptionist (which was so rude) told me i needed a hard copy of the bill which I forgot to take. When I told her I had a picture of the bill on my phone, she declined and said they needed the hard paper copy and could not take my Payment as she needed a hard copy. I went again a week later to pay the bill, cash , bill and all. Same receptionist tried to tell me the billing dept was gone for the day (about 3:30PM) and wanted me to come back. I was livid and told her that I could not keep coming back to try and pay this bill. I had the bill and cash Payment at hand and advised they needed to take my payment! Ugh!!!! Safe to say, after all that, I made a PCP change out of that office ASAP! Worst system ever. Sad because the doctors I saw I had no bad experience with. STAFF IS RUDE!!!!! Just rude. You can tell they hate their jobs, not friendly at all. The Doctor has been very pleasant on my visits; But calling and dealing with the staff is different, After being in hell through Kaiser for a year I finally got out of the network and called Friday to make an appointment. My appointment was at 9am on a Monday and there was only one other patient in the lobby with me. After signing in, I realized all the taped papers on the windows with all the rules. It would have been nice if the person who I spoke to that they only accept CASH or CHECK! I had to leave the place to take money out. Even after telling the person on the phone it was my first time. Not to mention there is a $20 FEE if you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or if you miss your appointment. The receptionist at the desk was not friendly at all, and she informed me that I never made an appointment, even though I called and made one days before. I hear other people having issues with the staff as well. Service is extremely important and I don't think this place has it. I didn't get to see the main doctor but was very pleased. With all he issues that I had she seemed pretty determined to figure out what was going on. Let's see how long the process will be due the fact that I'm new and new X-rays and MRI s off the bat. If I could give this office zero stars I 100% would. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF YOUR MEDICAL NEEDS. 1) Once I called for an appointment 15 minutes before closing and the rude office assistant told me to call back 2) Another time I called to make an appointment and they couldn't find me in their system because they input my information incorrectly. 3) After all was said and done, the rescheduled my appointment without confirming with me, then refused to see me because I missed said appointment. Horrible experience! I called and was told to come in. I showed up, filled out the paperwork and was then told it would be $90 cash, and they would not accept credit card or debit card. Quite upset, I left. I called Blue Shield of California who informed me that this is highly unusual. This issue has been escalated since they have an active contract at Blue Shield of California. I hope this issue is address by the escalation team and that their contract is reviewed and they are held to account. Horrible! Stay away........ read more

We are new pts for this office my husband called to schedule an appts due to having headache, dizziness and chest pain, the receptionist then said ok next avail. appt is next week 4/17/13 @ 10am who does that ? I don't understand all the bad reviews!? I just switched over to this office and I couldn't be happier! Honestly they are terrific! They have been so far very courteous to me on the phone and work with me in making my appointments and according to my work schedule. I really don't see any negatives there! They I feel completely care about me and my quality of life and health and I think all they people on here who have been slandering them should just take a moment and think were you really that mad at the office and your Dr. or were you just not feeling to good and having a bad day and I only say that because I really really like this place and im thankful to have them.. I honestly think VeraChris might be related to or a friend of this doctor from the comments he/she posted. I chose this doctor because of location. I have been to this office twice and both times were very disappointing experience. The wait is horrible and the doctor was not very nice. Being a patient, I have questions for the doctor regarding my symptoms and he wasn't very responsive and gave answers that didn't make sense. I can get better answers doing google search. My husband went there over a month ago to get a regular check up blood work done. I called 2/13/15 to see if lab results came in, check status and a gentleman answered the phone only to tell me that staff had left at 2:00 p.m. and that the lab work had NOT arrived as yet... (REALLY?) he asked that WE call back Monday 2/16/15. I called back today (2/16/15)I'am left on hold and even though i had told the first person that answered the phone that i was the wife, gave them my name, the receptionist yelled at me, she became irritated because I related that she should ask the person that answered the phone, the one i was just speaking too. This female got on the phone only to try to further cover up they forgot, instead of just telling us the truth, they tell us another lie about how they hadn't called because the test were'nt faxed in 2/13/15!! All lies and poor work ethics! DO NOT go there! Unless you want to be lied too, treated with such disregard,shown no empathy whatsoever and get offended by their staff! First time coming here i must say everyone was very nice and polite. The front desk was very polite and attentive . The nurse who took my vitals was very nice as well and inform me of information i needed. My appt was at 10:45a.m i got there about 10:20a.m since i was a new patient, i got called in around 11:00am i thought i was going to see Dr. ragaa but instead i seen juventina youn NP. im so glad i seen her She was very nice and answer all my questions. Explained to me everything and had well bed manners i will deff schedule a follow up appointment with "tina" i was done with my appt by 11:50 a.m did not wait long i was very impressed and very satisfied with the service i received GREAT JOB !!! They don't deserve any stars at all but to write a review we must. This is the worst doctors office I have been to!!! They are unprofessional and the doctors seem about as dumb as the receptionist. I have gone about 4 times in about 4 years and every time is an unbelievable disappointment. First time, there were important results I should have been contacted about and they never called me!! I didn't find out until I went back for something else almost a year later! Then at another time they made me come in, miss work and pay a co-pay of course, to tell me that there was nothing to report! WTF! They are money hungry and you can tell they are only there for one thing which is money and not to help people get better. Sad part is they do this to other people that really don't have $20 dollars to waste or the work hours to burn. These people suck and karma does come around. The lady doctor, not sure of her name, is lazy and you can tell is just trying to get you in as much as possible to bill. Dr. Reese, seems like a nice man but should retire because he isn't a good doctor anymore, didn't answer my questions but was willing to write me a prescriptions when he couldn't even tell me what my symptoms might be! lol Too funny! Oh and that old man that manages the office or whatever, probably the ladies father so they both have the same objective, money hoooee!!!lol(that's from jerry Mcguire the movie lol) What a joke! Front desk staff is rude. Good luck calling and trying to schedule an appointment. They hardly ever answer the phone. When you need them to call a specialist on your behalf, they don't. They say they will, but they don't. It really is unfortunate because the doctors there are great but the front desk needs some customer service training. read more
