My dentist referred this dr. for a tooth extraction. First, I had trouble with the lengthy online…read morehealth history that wouldn't let me submit. I had to finish filling it out when I got there. Waited about a half an hour before they called my name. I was very nervous and warned them I'm very sensitive to pain, with zero pain tolerance due to fibromyalgia. I don't remember any acknowledgement of that. I don't do well with anesthesia, so I chose just to have the novocaine. The assistant quickly swabbed the area once, and without waiting, the dentist moved right in with three numbing shots, including the roof of my mouth which was the worst pain. There was hardly time to numb it; he didn't wait long enough for it to take effect. It was excruciating pain, pure torture, and I cried. It finally numbed up enough for the tooth extraction. I still have nightmares remembering that pain. No excuse for not letting the area get sufficiently numb; it was terribly traumatic, which threw my fibromyalgia into a flair for a couple of weeks feeling sick and fatigued. My sinuses were affected and still sore, including a headache. The procedure took only minutes, and I got a big bill that my dental insurance doesn't cover. Very unhappy and angry about the horrible experience. I didn't feel the place was very friendly; had bad vibes. They didn't do much to make me feel comfortable. I felt like just another patient. In and out.

**Above and beyond during an emergency visit**…read more My son was sent to AOMS for an unexpected emergency visit after his regular dentist accidentally punctured the roof of his mouth while unsuccessfully trying to remove a back molar. From the moment we arrived, every person we interacted with was fast, efficient, and incredibly professional. They got us in quickly, examined the puncture, and clearly explained what they were seeing and what needed to be done next. They not only successfully removed the back molar, but also found and removed small shard fragments left behind in another extraction site from the earlier appointment. Throughout the whole process they were patient, kind, and very reassuring with both me and my son, checking in on his comfort level and walking us through each step so there were no surprises. What impressed me most was how they made a stressful, last‑minute emergency visit feel smooth and organized, almost as if it had been planned in advance. Their calm, confident approach put us both at ease, and I left feeling genuinely grateful that my son's care was in their hands. I would highly recommend AOMS to anyone needing oral surgery, especially in an urgent or unexpected situation. Thank you, Dr. Huss & amazing staff

After they visit my bill was carefully explained to me which I appreciated. In the chair I was treated like a long term patient (this was my first visit) as they prepared for the surgery. I had opted for Novocain and what amazed me was I barely felt the shots as they went in to my gums, and I hate needles. The surgeon then proceeded to extract the teeth and did so with care, always checking in with me to see how I was doing. Thee was even a moment when we had to stop so I could be numbed a bit more. I appreciated being told what was going to be done and the explaining what was happening as we went on. In my opinion, this is definitely a quality practice.
