Boger Dental - Cleaning time! - Cosmetic Dentists Near Me - Plymouth, Minnesota

I was a patient here around 2009-2011 and even at the time I was unhappy with the work that was done. They tried to convince me that I needed ALL my fillings redone and thank god I did not allow them to do them. 15 years on and all of my 25 years plus work from my former dentist is still doing great. The one filling Dr. Boger did for me never felt secure. It wasn't filled enough and I could feel that it was too deep. It seems to be starting to fail and again, all my other 25 year old work from my amazing lifelong dentist before I moved to Minnesota did is holding up so it has nothing to do with my current dental care. I am only having problems with the work done at Boger dental. I can only hope that having this poorly done filling isn't causing even more damage. I guess with all their bells and whistles they have to try to extort their patients to pay for their overhead. I regret ever being dazzled by the TVs and the paraffin treatment because it was my teeth that mattered. And now it is going to cost me even more money. I agree that they are unethical like other reviews have said. Even the good reviews, they may be fine now but just wait 10 years. Dental work is supposed to last more than 10-15 years as evidenced by all the rest of my dental work that's still fine. A repair on my front tooth that admittedly can fail by accident more than just a regular filling chipped and I just had to have a costly repair by a trusted family dentist and the quality of my family dentist's work is miles above what Boger had done. I could immediately feel that the quality of the repair was better and more secure and invisible. You could see the edges of Boger's repair and I could feel where it was attached if I ran my fingernail down the tooth. My family dentist's repair is perfectly smooth. The same issue with my filling I can feel all the edges of the filling when my trusted dentist's fillings are all smooth. It's also entirely possible that I didn't even need this filling replaced in the first place and he did unnecessary work to bring me in and try to convince me to do more. It seems I'm not the only one that thinks this is common for Boger. Do not go to this dentist. I am sure there are far better dentists in the area. ALL my fillings! He wanted to take out perfectly fine dental work and give me new fillings as crappy as the one filling I had him do. Terrible place. Do not trust them. read more

I never thought I would say this, publically, but I love my dentist. Specifically, I love Boger Dental. I found Boger Dental when I was searching for "dentists who can sedate you, even for a cleaning." I was that terrified of dentists thanks to several horrific experiences. I had delayed going for more years than I wanted to admit. Since finding Boger, I am excited to say I don't need to be sedated, for anything. The office is clean and standard of dentists offices. There are tvs above each chair for distraction. The staff are all extremely friendly, which was one of the first things that attracted me. The kindness even when scheduling eased a lot of my PTSD. Today's the second cavity I had filled, the procedure went so smoothly. I was seated on time and out of the chair in 30 minutes. I have what you might call "dental trauma". Going to the dentist is a very challenging thing for me, but I'm delighted to declare that Boger has been an absolutely phenomenal experience. I worked with Dr. Trapp, who took all my concerns seriously and made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be. During my procedure, he'd occasionally pause to make sure I was doing well. It's those little details that take the cold calculation of dental work, and turn it into outright hospitality. It's a tall order, and Dr. Trapp and team fulfill it well. But it's not just the doctor that took such great care of me. Loni and Gabby were fantastic assistants (pardon me if there's a better term- dental hygienists?). Masterful application of topical anesthetic and again, very caring, attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable. Even the front desk staff were super nice and radiated positive energy. I love that there was so much personality and individuality, despite the 'industry standards' that often make medical establishments sterile and boring. The balance was perfect. Finally, the billing department was CRYSTAL clear about how all the charges broke down etc. truly 10/10. American healthcare is a nightmare, and somehow they managed to help me navigate with ease. just now I spent $35.000 dollars on veneers from Dr Bogar To date 7 of them have fallen off - Doctor Bogar insisted I must be grinding my teeth - 2 of them that fell off were the tooth next to my front tooth - when I put my teeth together that tooth doesn't even touch the bottom tooth This has cost me thousands of extra dollars having the teeth glued back on - if it doesn't crack apart when they fall off - then it needs to be completely remade - cost $2000 per tooth... My husband had his teeth capped 30 years ago - none have fallen off Dr Bogar talked me into veneers instead of capping Now the back of the tooth next to my front tooth has cracked and fallen off. I wouldn't recommend Dr Bogar Instead of fixing defective work - he blames the patient. Not too impressed. read more

I had six veneers done by Boger Dental (Chad) to correct misalignment as an alternative to traditional braces and I couldn't be happier with the results! My smile looks great, my bite feels more natural, and even my speech comes across as more clear. My only regret is that I didn't do this 10 years earlier. I had braces as a kid and as a working-mom I wasn't looking forward to repeating the 2-3 years of constant pain and headaches, monthly visits, and tightening procedures. I also faced the potential of having to remove/reinstall them in the event of cavities or worse - there was a possibility that crown treated teeth would chip or break and require emergency visits to my dental clinic before I could resume Ortho treatment. Invisalign was a no-go for me as it would require too many lifestyle changes to commit to for such a long time. I'm so grateful I came across Boger Dental and was able to get a perfect smile within less than a month and about 6 hours spread across a few appointments. The process started with an initial consultation, then a mock-up to visualize the placement of veneers and ensure that we were on the same page. I also grabbed a ten day whitening kit from them and this helped me achieve the color I had in mind. Once I committed to the changes, my teeth were prepped and temporaries were placed while the lab prepared my veneers. Dr. Boger was incredibly detailed and focused on making my temporaries look as real as possible. I truly appreciated that and received a ton of compliments on just the temporaries. Katie walked me through the entire process and gave me tons of options on the aesthetics of my veneers. I could choose the color, ridges, and whether I wanted the corners to be round or blunt. Ultimately I pointed at a picture and said "I like hers!" and we went with that but it was nice to know I had control over those options. I came back after two weeks and had the final veneers installed. They were literally perfect. When I looked in the mirror at the final reveal, I was amazed at how much they looked like 'my' teeth and how everything blended together. It was an emotional, life changing experience. I wanted to cry but instead I couldn't stop smiling! A few more things to add about my experience: Dr. Boger and his assistants work very well together as a team. They're agile, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. I never experienced any pressure and was presented with options and provided support. All my appointments started on time and there were never any communication errors among the staff. As others have pointed out, their clinic is well maintained and uses the latest tech for imaging. Switched to this dentist after having a rough time at "Gentle" Dentistry across the street. It is well worth your money to pay more to have way better service. I have gone here multiple times for cleanings and a few times for fillings. Very happy with my results. Michelle is my hygienist and I highly recommend her if you can get on her busy schedule. She is super nice, thorough and very professional. In the winter she offers hand waxing which is a great little extra service. Highly recommend! read more

My personal experience with Boger Dental happened back in 2011 and was so bad that I reported them to the BBB and left multiple reviews. Being in the insurance industry now, I was curious to see what type of reviews they have these days and sad to see that a lot of people are experiencing the SAME treatment and dishonesty that I did. What they are doing sounds like health care fraud and It seems pretty likely their google reviews aren't all legit. You can see from yelp that they are still performing medically unnecessary services for obvious reasons and falsifying their patients diagnosis to justify procedures that aren't necessary. When all these complaints are saying they went to other providers only to be told they didn't have cavities to begin with, I wonder how come no one has been able to stop this from happening to future patients. Giving patients estimates and then performing procedures not discussed or quoted but charging for them anyway and also the complaints regarding PHI confidentiality violations. People have the right to be aware of these very series issues so they can be treated by an honest provider who is going to give them the right services. read more

They recommended I get fluoride and I am an adult. I do not remember ever paying for anything at my previous dental office but I thought I should do it because it was recommended and thought maybe it was due to change in insurance which is why I agreed to treatment. I spoke to husband and several friends, fluoride was never recommended to them at any appointments after they became an adult. Unfortunately I don't trust dentists due to recommendations made in the past by other dentists. Now I will place Boger dental on this list. The cleaning experience was good but results were satisfactory. Furthermore, they had also recommended I have a deep cleaning due to health of my gums and want me to come in 3 times a year for cleaning. Now I am not so sure if they are recommending 3 cleanings to maintain health of my gums or if there is an ulterior motive since the 3rd cleaning will be $176 out of my own pocket on top of the fluoride treatment. read more

I came in for a little chip filling and they were fast, efficient, and friendly. However, both before and after the procedure the dentist kept trying to convince me to come back and get a mouthguard because "my jaw was tight so I must be clenching a lot during the day". Not true at all, this was actually based off me clenching my teeth when I was asked to bite down! This practice definitely tries to extort and rip off patients and insurance companies. So hard to find an honest dentist. Only consider going here for routine cleanings, any elective treatments will definitely have you paying way more than you should. read more

Ask for Dr Madden - they have some other good ones there but Madden is excellent. I had some mixed experiences here a few years back, but was very impressed with Madden's handling of re-doing the crown for an old root canal with a cracked crown and some deterioration underneath. I know this was a tricky process because a dentist relative in Boston told me it sounded like it had a 50/50 shot to fail and to get someone good. Madden followed up with a personal call and two years later the tooth is still with me. Do NOT miss or even cancel in a timely manner on an appointment here, it can get weird and very expensive. Worthwhile place though if you need some special attention for dental phobias. The posh atmosphere is very comforting. The dental assistants are sweethearts, nicest ones I have met. read more

Our entire family has been going to Boger for several years now after leaving another dentist in Plymouth. Their hygienists are absolutely amazing and so patient with kids and nervous nelly adults like myself. My 6YO has had some issues with her teeth that have required a few extensive appointments and she still is comfortable going back. Dr Schmidt in particular is great if you have kiddos. I totally disagree with any negative feedback of this amazing dental clinic. I battle high anxiety and multiple sensitivities and allergies and fears-they listened every time I had a question and accomodated me with all that I asked. ( wow thanks for not getting annoyed and acknowledging my concerns) ( also the TV on the ceiling really helps to distract you) I think it's only smart to do your own double checking with insurance and estimates as (my husband did for me) and they even let me put off some of the work till next year so insurance would cover it. (but you do need to ask) I did have an estimate that was off but we checked and talked to them about it and got it worked out easily, just by going over it and then made plans to save the most money. I found them easy and pleasant to work with. especially Katie and Megan and Dr Chad, love those guys. read more

Dentists. I have severe anxiety when booking my twice a year cleaning, and I will make up every excuse in the book the day before to cancel. I've had some pretty bad dentists. Boger Dental is the exception to the rule. I would drive 50 miles to get to this place. Reasons why: 1. Comfortable waiting area with wireless, laptops for use, fridge full of H20, soda, tea, etc... 2. When you book an appt they send you a confirmation email and you can confirm your appt online instead of them calling you (always awkward). They also will send you a text the day of your appt reminding you of your time. 3. Best hygienists. They have a flat screen monitor of your chart in front of you so you can see everything going on. They also apply chapstick to your lips while the cleaning is going on. 4. PARAFFIN WAX for your hands (COMPLIMENTARY) while you get your choppers cleaned. 5. Dr. Madden. You will have to go here to know why. 6. Happy gas without questions. P.S. they really care about your experience. Once they screwed up my bill and they gave me a $5 Caribou gift card to make up for it. They do everything right here. read more

I would highly recommend getting a second opinion if you go here (or just not going here at all!). At a minimum call a few other dental practices to get price estimates before proceeding with any dental work at Boger Dental. The estimate they gave me to fill 3 cavities was grossly off from the final bill I received (hundreds of dollars in fact). Their prices are also significantly higher than other dental offices I have called since my visit there - I should have done this research prior to my appointment there. The only reason I gave them more than one star is that the dentist and other staff there were pleasant... but not pleasant enough to off-set the bill. read more

Great Dentist. I've recommended my brother and his wife and they both loved it and made it their primary dentist. As good of an dental experience as you are going to get. Everybody is genuinely nice and they use high tech equipment and the staff will make you feel totally comfortable. Also very clean and TV's on the ceiling. Guests are offered an assortment of coffee flavors and h20 and cookies/bars) Unfortunatly they do not take my insurance so I have to go elsewhere. But If I could I would go there in a heartbeat. UNETHICAL Beware. When my son had his checkup, I was given a treatment plan. I spoke with Dr. Kristi on the spot and told her that I agreed with part of it, but not all, and asked her to revise the treatment plan. When my husband took my son for his appointment the following week, she showed him the treatment plan and had him sign it for approval, then went ahead with her original plan, not telling him that I only agreed with part of it. When I found out about the duplicity upon receipt of the bill, I called to find out what happened. I was told that was "between you and your husband" and nothing to do with the doctor. I beg to differ. She knowingly played us, like a child who asks daddy for candy when mommy already said NO. read more

I went in for a simple cleaning and left feeling like I needed a considerable amount of dental work done, of which no other dentist office has mentioned. I felt like I was being pressured to schedule multiple follow up appointments and commit to spending a considerable amount of money to address issues that are frankly, non-issues. The dentail assistant even followed up with emails getting me to commit to the appointments!! Additionally, I had my 9 year old daughter in for a cleaning around the same time. When she was done with her appointment out comes the hygenist with a big estimate for additional dental work that she was going to need done; without the dentist or anyone discussing it with me first! I work in the dental industry and I love this place. Being in the business, there are very few I would let treat my children. Chad Boger has more post-graduate training than most dentists in the country. I trust him. I'm surprised by some of the reviews here, this place is top notch. I find it important to be presented with all the possibilities when it comes to health care. Don't you really want to know all the options? I would find it a betrayal to be told, all is well, when really some improvement could be made. A dentist would be remiss to not discuss all treatment options, even though it upsets a few to learn they might have a situation, and that healthcare is not free. I seek the opinion of a healthcare professional to learn about my condition, and if I do not agree, it does not make them wrong. When it comes to insurance and estimates, from my viewpoint, it boils down to a lack of consumer understanding. A dentist cannot control or really predict what an insurance company will pay or deny. We are a family of five (two in ortho) and all our experiences have been extremely positive. If you want comprehensive treatment, this is your place. read more

When I called to question the bill we received I was told their prices are "competitive". REALLY. I've seen more than my fair share of great dentists over the years--some right here in the Twin Cities as recently as one month ago, and some out of this area. None have been as insanely priced as Boger Dental. We made the mistake of going there once. It will never happen again, and I will definitely be pointing everyone I know in another direction should they be looking for dental services. My employer was switching insurance companies so I called the front desk and asked if they took the new insurance which I was told yes so I felt completely comfortable signing up for the new insurance. I brought myself and my daughter in for a cleaning and then afterwards found out that they didn't take my insurance.....now I'm stuck with a great big bill! Thoroughly disgusted by their treatment of my 17 year old son. He was a new patient and while there are no complaints about the treatment, he felt he was being browbeaten to approve additional services and even prescription toothpaste (for sale at Boger) by both the hygenist and dentist alike. I have no problem with healthcare providers recommending additional products and services, but once the patient declines it's time to move on. They even went so far as to try to contact me, twice, before my son left the office in an attempt to get me to overturn his decision. In fact, I called the office prior to the appointment and specifically pre-declined the aforementioned service. Makes me feel like they are trying to sell as much as they can to whoever they can, especially since "Insurance is paying, so why would you care?" seems to be the prevailing attitude in healthcare. The fact that they tried to ram these products and services down the throat of a 17 year old makes it all the more detestable. read more
