After many headaches of calling agents and getting no follow up, I was told that the vehicle would be taken to a car service company in their "good hands" network. After requesting for an agent to document the cause, Allstate told me that the service company would be able to determine and document the ultimate cause of the accident as "mechanical failure" so that my premium shouldn't go up. I waited a few days and called again only to find out that an agent did actually need to be sent out because the car company didn't feel comfortable determining the cause of the accident. That was 3 days wasted with no progress made on my car, and I was the one physically having to call to handle it when the "good hands" that I was supposedly in should have been on top of this. Finally, they told me that the cause could not be determined and even though the accident was NOT my fault, they were going to raise my rates. I then proceeded to ask why the customer should be penalized for something I didn't do, and the agent told me that the same thing would happen if someone got in an accident due to black ice. They would be charged more because it's their fault they were out driving. Sounds like a huge money making tactic to me, and they should really be called "Allsnake". We will not be returning to this company and would not recommend it!
