The following might help people. There's a fundamental problem with the relationship between ALE…read moreSolutions, your Insurance Company, and the reality of your insurance policy. If your homeowners policy covers loss of use to your home, you probably have a time frame and dollar threshold based on the rebuild cost of your home. "Unlimited" is usually based on cost of rebuilding the home. And there is probably a "reasonable accommodation" aspect mentioned in your temporary housing options. Reasonable is open ended, but at the very least based on how many adults and children lived in the home, and given local ordinances on how many people can occupy a rental home or apartment etc, reasonable generally means you need x amount of bedrooms and something on par with your home. (also including kitchen, bathroom, pets) Your insurance company contracts out finding temporary housing to ALE, who is always going to be limited to what is actually available. DO NOT ALLOW ALE or your Insurance company to put you in a hotel, extended stay, or rental home if it DOES NOT MEET THEIR OBLIGATIONS TO FIND YOU SOMETHING EQUAL or reasonable to your home. And yes, the Insurance company might use unethical means to deceive you of what your entitled to. ALE has an up and down reputation, but it has a lot to do with your Insurance Company not meeting their responsibility of finding a reasonable accommodation. If the only thing available is 3 hotel rooms at the local Marriott. And ALE can't find you a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with a fenced backyard for your two dogs. YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT to tell the Insurance company the 600 foot 2 bedroom home offered by ALE SOLUTIONS isn't good enough. You have every right to refuse those offers if they don't meet the contractual obligation in your insurance policy. Stay in that Hotel. Yes, the Insurance Company is going to spend 15,000 dollars a month and wants you out of the Hotel. It is not the customers fault that the insurance company did not realistically handle the housing shortage issues in a market. Nor is it the customers fault that they hired ALE Solutions who doesn't offer a sensible market rate to the Insurance Company on hotels stays, and extended stays. You probably can find a cheaper extended stay rate then ALE Solutions did. In all reality, ALE doesn't have people negotiating rates with hotels, or rental properties at reduced rates. You might think they did. But they don't. You will eventually have an Insurance Adjuster (possibly lying to you) trying to tell you, that you must move out of the hotel because (it's expensive for the Insurance Company). But again, it's not your problem that your Insurance Company is lazy and doesn't have good business practices. ALE is only going to offer what is available. And the entire country has a housing crisis. Good luck finding a month to month temp rental. Don't do it, tell them to honor the contract and F off.

They sent me down the wrong housing department for several weeks while i was stuck in a hotel. Then when they did get me to the right department the people cancelled my hotel before i got into my long term housing without any check in or communication about the new property starting or the hotel ending. Also had me pay a deposit for the wrong departments housing and i have been inquiring weekly for a month now about getting it refunded and never get any return calls or emails. Still trying to track down the refund for something i never used. Rude, worthless people. I cant wait to see what other issues pop up during my stay with the company until my home is rebuilt. State farm should not be doing business with them and just pushes us to them so they dont have to deal with anything. Everyone wants money but doesnt want to do anything for it.

It sadness me that I am having to write this today about the unprofessional customer service I have…read morereceived from Jay Janese personally. My experience with him has made me rethink the future of State Farm continuing to be my insurance provider. I had an issue that I spoke to Jay's office about. I was of course upset about the issue and at the end of the day would have just appreciated an apology for the inconvenience. However, I received an unapologetic response with a finger pointing explanation from Jay. He decided that instead of apologizing and trying to ensure me this would not happen again, he continued to blame my old agent and myself for the issue. At this point I explained to Jay that I no longer would like to do business with his agency and wanted to switch to another agency. I requested the info from him and was only told to call the 1-800 number and good luck as he hung up on me. This now leads me to today. I was informed by the agents office I would like to work with (Michelle Twitchell's office) that Jay is refusing to allow my policy to be transferred. He has now denied the transfer 3 times and will not discuss why he is denying this. I did call today to inform him that I would like for him to stop denying this and to accept that I would like to transfer my policy to a new agency. His response was "Whatever! You got it buddy" than as he was hanging up he called me a a-hole. He may have thought the phone was already hung up but non the less, I was able to hear his remark and I am not pleased. Jay needs some coaching on humility. He is in a position of privilege and needs to understand this. I was a customer who felt that State Farm did me a disservice. I admit that I have some responsibility in not realizing the mistake earlier, but all he needed to do was say " I am sorry for the inconvenience and I assure you that you can trust your policy in my hands." Not to have been given the responses he gave or to have dealt with his continued unprofessional manner. On a side note,Michelle's office has been very helpful and understanding. They have continued to keep me in the loop and communicate where the process is at with being switched over. As for now I am just looking to switch agents, however this experience with Jay has not created a raving fan for State Farm. I am looking forward to the continued helpful attitudes from Michelle's office for future questions that I may have.
