After weeks of poor communication and multiple follow-ups on my part, the crew finally showed up on September 17th with less than an hour's notice. The owner, Nick, called me irate about our "newly installed lawn" -- even though he knew about it, had been on the property on August 27th, and we had already discussed sprinkler shutoffs in advance. His tone was so aggressive that I felt threatened and uncomfortable speaking with him, and from that point forward I directed him to communicate with my husband instead. The crew left, then later returned to begin installation. The foreman admitted that the wet ground was actually caused by a neighbor's sprinklers, not ours, and was segregated to a small portion of the yard. Despite assurances that excess dirt would be raked out along the fence line and moved to low spots throughout the yard (and any remaining dirt to be placed along the side of the house), they left a truckload of dirt in the middle of our backyard and did not rake any dirt out along the fence line. On top of that, the double gates were installed backwards after having in depth conversations about how to install the gates and which side on the double gate would be the main door. The excessive conversations happened mid-install when we were told that if the double gate is installed on the side of the house we originally requested, it would be installed 8 to 12 inches off the ground (obviously unacceptable to all parties). When I raised concerns, the company agreed to fix the gates but ignored the issue with the dirt. Instead, they demanded the remainder of the payment and even came to my front door during the workday to collect, despite the job being unfinished and not as agreed. In the end, I had to rent equipment and spend my own time moving the dirt myself as well as contracting a lawn care specialist to replant the grass that was mutilated from the large pile of dirt left in the center of our yard. This was an unprofessional and disappointing experience. I have attempted to speak with DeFazio Company regarding these issues, but they have continued to demand payment without the willingness to work towards a resolution. I expect my final balance to be adjusted to reflect the work I had to do myself, along with a formal acknowledgment of their mishandling of the project. If this occurs, I will update my review to acknowledge this.

This year when they came out to open the system in early May, I told the tech that I think they had missed a sprinkler head. he said there wasn't one there. I said yes there was, but he said again there wasn't. he left without checking. so about 2 weeks later we noticed standing water. we had originally thought the cable company had broken a line so we called them out to fix it, but as we all stood there we found that it was a head that was not popping up. When Husney comes out, it is their job to make sure all heads are popping up and working properly. so I called Gayle (I believe she is the owner) and told them they need to come out and complete the job. a different tech came out and not only checked the head in question but he kicked the ground in another area and up popped another head they had missed. so when they presented me with the bill I refused to pay saying they should have completed the job earlier in May....especially since I had told them there was a head there. About a month later, I got a refund for my advance payment for shutdown service. when I called (twice) about it Gayle had one of her office personnel return the call and tell me they cancelled the contract because I refused to pay the bill. Not only is this poor customer service to a long standing, good paying customer, but to have someone else call back instead of Gayle herself shows the unprofessionalism in their organization. I would not recommend this company to anyone! If I could have given them a zero score, I would have !
