All I need, in life really, are sleeping cats and shelves and shelves of book. it is in a great spot within Bay View that is near coffee shops restaurants, breweries, bars, etc. I always enjoy walking into a used book store. The smell of vintage and well-loved books is a magical thing. Most of the books I picked up were reasonably price and in great condition. The owner (maybe?) was welcoming, helpful, and ready to answer questions about the shop (and cats). Such a quaint and beautiful environment to wander about and find a book (or more) that supports the community. Also, support local, independent bookshops. So much of a recommend!

Stopped by Lion's Tooth recently in an ongoing effort to visit any and all bookshops in the…read moreMilwaukee metro. Lion's Tooth is a small, hole in the wall, bookshop nestled in Bay View. What it lacks for in size, it makes up for in curation. These booksellers know the Bay View audience and have thoughtfully handpicked their stock to suit. I noticed that they have a few bookclubs--I can't remember all of them but there is one that focuses on books about wine. So, if you're looking to learn more about wine, you may have found your spot. They have a nice selection of social justice books and have a solid supply of graphic novels as well. For myself, I was able to pick up a collection of short stores while I was in. What a gem of a spot! Get to it!

This place smells kind of like armpits. It's not terribly clean…read more But to me, this place is kind of magical and oddly charming. It might not be this to you. In fact, I'm guessing this place isn't really "for" most folks. But they have TONS of books. Great books. Seriously. They have an extensive-yet-curated selection of books; it's clear that whoever is in charge of stocking these shelves knows what's up on the real. The quintessential independent bookstore: like, one dude painstakingly stocked these shelves. Priced really right, to boot. Records, too!

I love old pages with a hint of yellow. It's my jam. I stumbled upon this place while trying to get my friend's small child to fall asleep (no joke). I pushed a strolled back and forth while I browsed books. This place is so magical, it put her to sleep! The shop owner was really great, taking my $20 and forgiving me on the cents I owed. He says he's good to repeat customers, so I will most definitely be back!

It was dead silent for a period of time before she grumbled about the Christmas books being on sale, then proceeded to loudly crunch on nuts or whatever it was she was eating. Eventually another older lady came in who she seemed to be friends with and they were talking together. My husband told me he heard the lady working tell her friend "I don't trust those guys." I looked up after this and she was glaring me down through the window between the children's room and front desk. Immediately I put down what I was considering buying and left. Never have I felt so unwelcome in a store and am still bothered by the experience hours later. Regardless of this experience, the selection of books is very poor and there are no prices listed. Are we to assume everything is MSRP? Please tell me you aren't charging $30 for the years old hardcovers on display.
