This is a very small, mostly takeout restaurant. The "decor" looks like it came from a landfill, and they're really not set up for inside dining. The service is brusque and all business, typical for this sort of restaurant. The food is plentiful, tasty and a good value. We had Hunan chicken, happy family, crab rangoons and pot stickers. All were freshly made and very good. I recommend Rainbow House for takeout. read more

Been craving hot & sour soup for awhile, the wonderful thickened broth with deep color from the 2 types of soy sauce, the traditional wood ear mushrooms, the heat of white pepper and the sour from vinegar. You know - Chinese takeout hot & sour soup. So I ordered that and a shrimp egg roll with sweet and sour and hot mustard sauces. What I got was a thin egg drop soup with a few white mushroom slices and a little chili oil on top - not anything remotely resembling hot & sour soup. Giving them 3 stars for the shrimp egg roll - it seemed homemade, with the cabbage still bright and crisp, and pieces of shrimp were nice sized. It was a treat. Got a watery sweet & sour sauce and no hot mustard, although she asked me twice what sauces I wanted. These guys seem to be the go-to for typical Chinese take-our in the area. I'd give something else a try if nearby, but I'll make me own hot and sour soup. I can shoot you a recipe, if you'd like. read more

Stopped here on a whim a few weeks back. The staff were very friendly with each customer. Making sure their order was correct. The portion sizes are bigger than most other Asian restaurants. Food was tasty. The spice level was not as hot as I expected but was very good nonetheless. Will return again. read more

Photos of the Rainbow House on-line are very deceiving. They make you think it's a real restaurant, when in fact, it is a take out food service. When we entered the restarant the few tables there were dirty and had not been cleaned. We decided to try there food and eat it there anyway, in spite of it's poor appearance. It was poorly served in extremely cheap plastic dishes with cheap plastic ware. The napkins are so thin, they are not usable as they disintegrate upon use. It takes several (10) napkins just to wipe off your hands. The food was placed on our table in a bag although even though we were eating in their facility. The food was absolutely the worst Asian food I have ever tasted. The beef was so tough my dog wouldn't eat it. The beef tasted at least 3 days old. The vegetables were NOT fresh. We will never eat or order food from Rainbow House again. read more

It's well known NWA has a huge shortage of good Chinese food. Been here four years and haven't found the best place until now. Rainbow House in Pea Ridge is worth the ten minute drive outside of the Bentonville bubble. So good we've been here four times this week alone. Lots of veggie options if you're watching your diet like us but great traditional options too! Szechuan Tofu, Ma Po Tofu, Lemon Chicken, Cashew Chicken are all absolutely delicious! The food has truly gone down hill and smells rotten most of the time. The customer service is always so rude and hateful. What gets me is the little boy who is FORCED to work. He's a very young child who makes it clear he does not want to be forced to work. The cashier and cook are rude enough without this poor child being so upset at the register. read more

I recently purchased Moo Goo Gao Pan and Szechuan Chicken combo meals with extra egg rolls. First off the gal at the counter tried to get a young boy I would guess around 10 ish to help out in the kitchen make my fried rice. He refused saying he didn't know how. She again tried to encourage him as he had made it before and he refused again. The resulting dishes, other than the eggs rolls are very bland and tasteless. My daughter told me this the last time she went but I thought it might be a one off as I always enjoyed the food in the past. I am sorry to say this but I will no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone nor frequent it again. read more

We absolutely love Rainbow House and the family who goes above and beyond safety precautions both pre and post pandemic. We always get several large to go orders and lay out dinner buffet style at home and always have tons of leftovers. We've given this place its last chance. Last night: Sweet & Sour Chicken jerky, General Tso's Chicken Jerky, and even terrible fried rice. We usually eat Chinese food once or twice a week and this place is permanently off our rotation. It's like when they put up their 'Covid Wall' they stopped trying to make good, quality food. Usually you know what to expect from a tiny Chinese place, especially in a small town. But this place surprised me. I had their General Tso's for lunch, and then the coconut chicken for dinner, and both were amaze balls. Not only was the food good, but the service was fantastic too. Usually I don't expect much by way of service from a Chinese place, but the girl working the counter was not only very attentive but was a great conversationalist. Might I also mention that this place has a really cool sink in the bathroom.
