We had a bath tub refinished by Miracle method. They cleaned the tub, but did not remove the…read moreplumbers putty around the drain. When the job was complete, I was able to wipe off the new coating as easily as removing playdoh. They removed the overflow drain cover during the prep / etching process. Then put it back on and masked it off during the glazing process, so the area behind the overflow was not glazed. When I went to put my new overflow cover on, I found they just glued the old one one. When I removed it, it took the brand new glazing finish off with it. The bolt was broken that holds this cover on, they just glued the bolt head on to mask the problem. This bolt also holds the drain pipe to the tub, without it, water will leak behind the tub, cause mold and possible flooding to the downstairs neighbor. Update, about a week later. I extracted the broken bolt from the drain pipe using a little PB Blaster, heat and working back and forth. MM sent a more experienced tech to re-do the previous job. Looks fine now. Considering the mistakes that were made, and the cover up to hide the broken bolt, I'm not changing my review rating. The first tech clearly had no common sense, not what I would expect from a $1k paint job.

He was very detail oriented at each step from the beauty and quality finish, the caulking, and the subtle ridges on the bottom of the tub to avoid slipping. I was also impressed with how smoothly the shower doors operated on the tracks after he re-installed them - better than before. Additionally, he showed me a couple of "insider tips" how to clean the grime buildup from the shower doors correctly so they looked almost new once reinstalled. First, everyone laughed when I told them a contractor told me two weeks start to finish... and dang if they didn't get close. Two and a half weeks and only because they found a few unexpected obstacles. (Not their fault) First, I'll say the whole team was amazing. I hate workers in my house but Jose became a fixture. Part of the reason they went over a couple days is probably because my husband liked talking to him (don't tell Matt). Jose was so great, and had such attention to detail. He was telling us about potential annoyances and giving us solutions before we could even think of them (and I think about everything!). All the other guys, Mike, Juan, and Rafa, were just as great. Matt came by just about every day to check on progress and address any unexpected issues. When things did come up they didn't take the easy way out, they made sure it was fixed properly even if that meant ordering a new door or trim piece. Matt took every idea I had and ran with it. Even added some things I didn't know existed, like a cool corner pull out, which impresses everyone. I got my touch sink, kick out trash, pocket doors, and pull out pantry drawers. I couldn't have asked for more. I think many people came here looking to get cabinets refaced. But I'm here to say ask them about brand new cabinets. The cost difference is not as drastic as you would think (although not insignificant). But for a kitchen I will live with forever it was worth it. Also worth noting, I was stressed about added costs. Matt assured me from the beginning his goal is to keep the end price as close to the quote as possible. And dang if he didn't mean it. Our end invoice was just a couple hundred dollars over the initial quote because of those unexpected issues. To only have to deal with one team for the whole project (well two, I got a separate contractor for the floors), was such a blessing. Please do yourself a favor and call BCR.
