Not sure of what to do, I asked the lead supervisor on the job, Gene, if he had any recommendations on a contracting company for me - here the recommendation for First Coast Contracting (FCC) came in. Not any of this companies fault, but the whole job took around 2-3 months to complete - waiting for permit approval created the longest delay. But I found the owner, Ray and supervisor, Jason, highly professional throughout the process. Thankful that Ray was patient with me when I messed up on a payment a couple of times. There was a lot of work to be done. I was surprised how young the first crew was. They tore down the things that needed replacing - repaired and replaced the header and necessary 2x4s excellently, as confirmed by the inspector. The process was rough for me mentally because dealing with two significant projects simultaneously brought great stress my way. But I persevered! I was there everyday throughout both FCC and Reunity's work and saw that all FCC teams that worked on the house preformed well. This included a tear down to reveal the extent of the damage, getting the boards, etc. to replace them, resealing the new installed plywood and siding in the end on the outside. There was one new sheet of plywood that needed to be installed on the interior, and Clovis handled that magnificently! There were a few quirks on times of arrival on a couple of occasions. This mostly was from the younger team, but I have no complaints about their work and neither did the inspector. I was going to write four stars for FCC, but after looking at only one challenge for me about them, I can keep it for five as I would use them again and they do the job fully and correctly. I'd only say too, that it is seemingly pricey. But I'm not an expert on how to rate them price-wise when compared to other contracting companies. People do get free estimates and FCC is highly rated on Google as well. Recommend: HIGH

I had multiple companies come out and quote me for a METAL roof -- specifically standing seam, NOT corrugated. There's a lot of strong competition out there, so I was extremely picky. These guys didn't just try to compete, they went above and beyond to stand out. The install came out amazing. Were there a few issues during the process? Yes. The ladder crew damaged some stucco -- they fixed it. The pool solar removal got a little messy -- they fixed that too. That's the difference. Problems happen on big jobs. What matters is whether a company takes responsibility and makes it right, and they absolutely did. The attention to detail impressed me too. They even painted the roof pipes black so everything matched cleanly. Small touch, but it shows they actually care about the finished product instead of rushing out the door. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with the final result. Check the photos below. The roof speaks for itself.

While this leak was noticed after their industry-lagging 5-year warranty expired, a roof should last longer than 6 years before a significant portion needs to be replaced. Additionally, if you do go with this company, be leery of their warranty since they informed me that even if this leak was discovered within 5 years, it still would not have been covered because they claim it is because of bad flashing, which they did not replace in the reroof.

These days in Florida, you almost always have to lawyer up before they'll pay a claim, and then the amount they offered was a joke, like for a small repair...my whole roof needed replacing so we settled on an amount that only cost me $1050 out of pocket. 500 of which was my deductible. The claim was filed back in 2022 before Florida changed their laws, which favors the insurance companies more and screws the consumer. I had to pay $116 for some wood damage, but that was reasonable, in my opinion. Once we got a date for the work to start, they were on time, delivering the dumpster the day before, and hauling it away the day the job was completed, which was only two-day job. Jay Geuder was the contact with whom I dealt with, and he was pleasant to deal with and explained the process, helped with picking the color, etc., and followed up after the job was completed. Blake also followed up the day of, but I was not home from work yet so I couldn't really provide any info about the completion. So, from my experience, they've been a good company to deal with.

When my insurance company started to "slow role" me and pushed back to do a repair instead of a replacement, Jay and Eco Restore provided legal support to get a full roof replacement. The Eco Restore crew got the old roof removed and replaced in one day. And the cleanup was very thorough.
