They have created a second home for our children where they feel loved, respected, and cared for. They wake up every morning with excitement to go to school. Since our children started attending Pomegranate, their childcare-related illnesses have subsided. We attribute that to the perfect cleanliness of the space and the much lower number of children in the group compared to other schools. Ms. Maria cooks homemade, healthy lunches for all kids every single day, and the kids love it. Our children love their teachers, Ms. Irina and Ms. Samantha, and greatly enjoy working with them. They've learned a lot very quickly and seem very excited about the learning process, which feels like play for them. The classrooms are beautiful and cozy. Children literally fall in love with the space the moment they see it. Holidays at Pomegranate are always fun for the kids, with many organized activities (e.g., Santa visiting and giving out presents). We recommend Pomegranate Schools to everyone living in the area. My child was once mistakenly marked absent and then denied her school lunch despite being clearly present. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and addressing how something like that could happen, the focus immediately became that my "words made staff uncomfortable." The same pattern repeated when trying to address failure to accommodate my child's documented doctor's orders. Instead of solutions or collaboration, concerns were reframed as me somehow violating policy or making staff uncomfortable. Even basic concerns about teacher behavior are turned back around onto the parent rather than handled professionally. Management is extremely difficult to deal with because ELOP operates separately from IUSD, and unfortunately the standards, professionalism, communication, and accountability feel significantly lower as a result. Parents should understand that raising concerns here often feels less like working with a child centered program and more like navigating defensiveness, excuses, and policy shielding.

One of the daycares in our neighborhood was at capacity and they highly recommended Massi- Givingtree. We've had our daughter here full time until she started T-K this year so roughly 4 years. Massi is incredibly patient, kind, and loving. She's also very reliable and trustworthy. This was a big deal for us since we don't have much family near by. She's even looked after our older son as well. Both of our children absolutely adore her. Massi feeds the children fresh fruit, vegetables, proteins and beverages. She teaches them, sings with them, and engages them with arts & crafts. My daughter loves her dearly like family. My daughter was so sad to leave because she is now close friends with the other children there and created such a strong bond with Massi and her staff. If you are thinking of bringing your child to Givingtree and Massi, you can feel confident that she will take exceptional care of your child as though she's looking after her own. The reason I pulled my son is because: the teachers seem burned out and don't seem to enjoy their jobs or excited to work with kids, he was still crying at drop off 6 months later, the communication was awful frankly. The problems started when they had turnover of teachers (2 new teachers in a 2 month period). I would drop my son off and there'd be a new teacher answering and I had no idea who they were. You can imagine as a parent how unsettling that was. I requested more than once to the Program Coordinator to please provide some information and communication to the parents about new teachers, and never have I received any. I even called the administrator to figure out what the issue was. I was told they'd send a newsletter out (this was 2 months after the teacher had already started btw). Never did we receive any information. I understand there's turnover at daycares, but to just completely ignore a parents request, one that I feel is pretty basic, is just unacceptable to me. Anytime I had a question or concern in general, I was met with a lot of defensiveness and I'm a pretty friendly and easy going person. I lost trust in the people running the Montessori, it made me feel like they were hiding something or just completely disorganized. As a parent you need to be able to feel like you can have easy and open 2 way communication with the people entrusted in watching your child. I did give them two stars because my son did seem to learn a lot during the time he was there, and the teachers were nice, they just again didn't seem to really love their jobs.
