The first couple massages were nice. But lately, something's changed. The last few times I've gone they always seem distracted. Their phones are ringing and they have to leave in the middle of the massage. Multiple times!! Then one of the ladies is yawning the whole time. LOL!! Today a lady was wearing a rain-like jacket and every time she moved it would just rub against the material and it was just super loud. I guess when you go to a place with "relaxation" in its name you figure you could at least do that. Kind of a bummer but not sure if I'll give them another chance. We had been living in the area for about half a year, and I was super skeptical about this place. We have tried several other places in the area, but none we were really happy with. It wasn't until my husband decided to give this place a try and persuaded me. The place is exactly what you would imagine a massage parlor in the mall would be like. It's simple, can get a big loud with kids running and screaming outside. However, everything is clean and tidy. They have the usual relaxing music plus the mini waterfall machine or whatever you call it, both going at the same time to help drown out the noise. The star of the show here is of course the massage itself. Every time we have been here, even with different people we have gotten, everyone has been very consistent with their techniques, knows exactly where all the knots and tight spots that need the extra attention are. They specifically focus on them until they feel like the knots have been resolved. Don't be shy to ask them to move on or be a little gentle. Overall, the price is extremely reasonable. We don't care much for anything fancy as long as we feel like the massage helped. They also offer loyalty program where they give you a stamp card for each massage you get. After 6 or 8 (i can't remember exactly) massages, you'll get a free one of the equivalent, even more reasons for us to come back.

He is in a small but clean and relaxing studio in Arroyo Grande. His deep tissue massage hit all the right spots, all the while still keeping me in a relaxing state. All past deep tissue massages I have had focus on finding a knot, and killing you until it hurts. His is based in kinesiology (which I didn't know about until I saw Shawn), but it is definitely something you need on a regular basis. This was my first visit to him, but definitely not the last. We know no one in the area, so we took a chance and called the number to set up an appointment; Shawn Cabalka answered the phone immediately, was available, and arrived within about 10 minutes; more importantly, he fixed the problem. Next day I was hiking on the dunes, pain-free for the first time in weeks. Came back for another treatment before we left town, it was that effective. Shawn is eminently professional, easy to reach, flexible in scheduling, and most importantly, knows anatomy, knows how to zero in on a problem and fix it.
