I visited this salon twice for acrylic nails and a pedicure. While the finished look was nice, I'm very disappointed with the condition of my natural nails afterward. After removing the acrylics, I now have "rings of fire" on all of my nails, which indicates they were over-filed. During one appointment, my cuticle was cut so deeply that it bled. My nails are now very sensitive, brittle, and damaged. I was also concerned about the cleanliness of the salon. During my second visit, I noticed the tools used on me were placed back into the same container as other "clean" tools instead of being properly separated for sterilization. That raised concerns about their sanitation practices. Although the final appearance of my nails looked good, I don't think the health of my natural nails or the sanitation standards were given enough attention.

I booked three services together for an efficient spa day, but waited about 45 minutes for my second service. My nail appointment then ran so long that I was late for my final service. Once I was in better lighting, I noticed quite a few hairs left behind. Mani/Pedi: Nope. I paid $120 for their top-of-the-line mani/pedi, and despite taking a full two hours, the service itself was surprisingly superficial. The technician seemed uncertain, worked very slowly, and didn't have the sponge needed for the French ombré gel manicure I requested. The pedicure had no polish, my toenails weren't buffed despite my specifically requesting it, and quite a bit of thick skin around the nails was left behind. I actually went home and finished the pedicure myself -- not quite the pampering finale I had envisioned. The technician replaced the hand and foot massage with a superficial application of lotion. By then, after two hours, I was late for my next service and just ready to move on. ‍Massage with Shannon: Absolutely. This was the redeeming service. I had a wonderful deep-tissue massage and body scrub that put me into a deep state of relaxation. The temple pressure during the scalp portion was too strong for me and took a few reminders to lighten up, but everything else was excellent. I understand businesses need policies, but I was disappointed there was no effort to offer any reasonable accommodation--such as a future credit or discount--for a circumstance completely outside of my control. As a local customer, what disappointed me most wasn't the policy itself but the lack of compassion, communication, and customer service during such a significant life event. If you cater to late-term prenatal clients, it's worth considering a policy that recognizes spontaneous labor can happen. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business based on how this situation was handled. Update: While the manager is standing by their cancellation policy, they acknowledged that late-term prenatal appointments are a unique circumstance and shared that they're reconsidering whether a separate policy should exist for situations like unexpected labor. They offered me a $120 spa credit as a goodwill gesture (with the original cost of my charged prenatal massage service being $240) I appreciate that they took the time to listen, reflect on my feedback, and make an effort to address my concerns. While I still believe there is room for improvement in how these situations are handled and the offer to make it right, I'm grateful my experience may help create a more compassionate approach for future prenatal clients.
