We stayed in the Trappers Cabin with our three kids and had a wonderful experience. The cabin is located offsite, which was perfect for us--it gave our three energetic boys plenty of space to play and be loud without worrying about disturbing anyone. The cabin itself is beautiful, cozy, and well-maintained. Everything was easy to find, and there were helpful notes throughout the space that provided clear instructions and useful information. It was a little tricky to find at first, especially since we arrived at night and weren't familiar with the area, but it all worked out. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming--we truly appreciated their hospitality. Highly recommend! read more

We stayed at the Trappers cabin offsite of the rainbow lodge. It was so nice to have our own space. We actually saved money due to the nice kitchen. We were able to cook most of our meals and just go out for the ones that we wanted to. The bed was super comfortable, and we loved the privacy of the property and being able to have our dog. We definitely plan to come back. This place is only 6 miles from town so you're close enough to get the town action but far enough away to have peace and quiet. Perfect vacation spot for fly fishing because you can park your boat upfront and have no worries. read more

We stayed here after making a quick trip for a wedding. We were very happy with our stay here altogether. The room was very spacious, neatly rustic and clean! We loved the deer antler decorations, very nice touch. We had a very nice room with 2 queen beds and felt right at home. We both had a very good night sleep. This is our second trip to Ennis and second stay at the Rainbow Lodge. Our first visit we stayed in a room at the main facility but this trip booked a 2 bedroom cabin in the heart of Ennis. We wanted to be walking distance to food since this trip was with my 77 year old parents. We arrived to be informed the cabin was rented for the winter season the day prior. Informed upon our arrival and not the day prior via a phone call when our reservation was being altered by the owners. Basically leaving us no choice but to accept what was offered us. The duplex is larger than the cabin but it's not as nice as the main lodge. When you view the picture of the lodge you see beautiful petunia baskets with flowers in abundance, a swimming pool, gift/tackle shop and warm inviting community. Compare this to the duplex picture I've posted. Not the ambiance I experienced previously and also not walking distance to dining the cabin we reserved in town offered. At least that is what it's online description boasted when we selected it. The duplex was clean. It has a small charcoal grill on the front patio. Three flimsy cheap patio chairs. It's fine but not worth the room rate we paid. It's great if you are traveling with a large group. It can sleep many many people but the kitchens are tiny. The rooms are clunky but what you'd expect from a home made into rental stay duplex. The size made it difficult to maintain a consistent temperature throughout. I really feel we got taken advantage of by the owners. I wouldn't have paid what we did for this. The cabin in town was leased out from under us and this doesn't compare to the main lodge ambiance and doesn't compare to the location in town of the cabin. Worked out for the owner but left us without an option. Not sure I'd trust the owners in the future for a third visit. read more

Great value! Cute log motel, drive & park coral style. Continental breakfast with home made baked goods. Beautiful summer annuals decorate the entire property. Clean, spacious rooms and well appointed rooms with darkening window covering ability so you can sleep in and wake up to awesome shower head pressure. Real nice couple own and run the place. We will come back. I'm not a fly fisherman but looks like they specialize in tackle. read more

Ed and Jeanne at the Rainbow Valley Lodge have built quite a wonderful little business there near Odell Creek and the Madison River just minutes from downtown Ennis. They are an incredibly sweet and accommodating couple who have a genuine passion for the area. The rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable, and the staff all makes you feel like family. If you're fishing in the area they are a one-stop-shop with all the flies and tackle you might need for a day in the water. They also offer guide services if you'd like someone knowledgeable to help introduce you to the local fisheries. The central location to a surplus of good fishing ensures that I'll make a point to stay here whenever I'm in the area. read more

This was certainly a nice place and met our expectations, but it's nothing special. Nonetheless, I'd recommend it if you're passing through. The room was clean and well-maintained. Free wi-fi was very nice to have. The TV is dated but the satellite service worked very well. Most importantly, the beds were very comfortable and the sheets crisp. Coffee, orange juice, donuts and muffins were available in the lodge office. read more

Stayed here with my friend over Memorial Day weekend on our way to Yellowstone. Nice owners. Cute, Montana cabin motel appearance. Grounds are meticulously kept. Lawn is, in a word, spectacular. Rooms are rustic themed with yellow pine walls and ceilings, antler light fixtures and fishing decor. Furnishings and plumbing fixtures are older and could do with an update but I must say our room was scrupulously clean, particularly when you consider the age of the fixtures. Our room was carpeted but it too seemed clean. The room had everything you would expect plus an unexpected rain showerhead amenity which was glorious. The combination of that showerhead, the perfect softness of the water and great heat led to one awesome shower experience. Very nice. Would recommend that owners consider changing the very dated and unattractive bedspreads. They're fishing themed but somehow the color makes them appear dirty, although I don't believe they really were. read more

We spent two nights in Moores Creek Hideaway cabin while we took part in the Madison Marathon. The marathon was gnarly but the cabin was wonderful and we enjoyed every minute there. We cooked a great steak barbecue on the grill, and slept well on the quality bed. The living room has lots of room to read or lay around, or whatever. We thought it was a great value compared to other things available in Ennis. We would easily stay there again, except next time we would stay longer. read more
