Brought a client to the Dr's office for an appt, & waited in front of the counter while the staff continued to only focus on their computer screen. The one that was attending to our needs was extremely rude, curt & not forthcoming or helpful with information in any way. I was able to joke around with the other medical records nurse closest to the entrance, who seemed cordial & pleasant in her interaction with us. The one who was tasked with helping us, definitely seemed disinterested in helping us in any way & totally lacked professionalism & basic customer service skills. I must admit that not receiving any attention upon walking in piqued my antenna to what kind of treatment we would receive. It may just be a medical office, but I still believe there ought to be some kind of customer service in dealing with your clients. In not knowing their procedures for new clients, you would think she would try to bend over backwards to provide us with the necessary information, but, unfortunately, I had to ask questions about everything, & whatever answers she had was very short & abrupt, no more & no less. Her demeanor & facial expressions expressed frustration & a laissez-faire attitude to us. She started to give us "marching orders" about what we needed to do, & she seemed totally perturbed when we had to go round & round over her lack of clarity regarding some paperwork. I finally stopped it & asked why she was treating us so rudely & if she had a problem with me? Her retort was it was my fault, to which I said OK, & apologized & said let's start over again. At which time, she called the Dr., who summarily walked out with arms folded & in a belittling sort of way told me to treat her staff nicely. What??? Are you kidding me??? In either case, so as not to exacerbate the situation, I again apologized & continued to take her marching orders. Finally, it was time for us to see the Dr. privately, & again I apologized to the Dr. for what transpired in her waiting area, but she simply dismissed it. I'm giving them one more extra star only because of the other staff member present who I could tell through her facial expressions & mannerisms was very apologetic for the rudeness of the other staff member. The Dr. was professional about our reason for being there, but in my opinion, should have taken the time to listen to my explanation of how we were treated in her place of business, especially since we were her clients. In this day & age, yes even clinics & medical facilities have to be held to a higher standard when it comes to serving the needs of the public for monetary gain. read more
