His recommendations for all aspects of the work were top notch and he was deliberate, patient and easy to talk to before, during and after our project completion. We were looking to re do our pool area and decking because the concrete deck around the pool was showing age, cracking and sagging in spots and the wood deck I had built around the pool concrete over 25 years ago was moving a bit. We had three different contractors provide specs and estimates. Two were stone guys who would replace the existing concrete and wood decking with stone. One of these contractors had done work for us before. I contacted Jon who explained the difference between doing the work with composite decking and stone. We also learned from a survey I commissioned that we would have issues with permeability if we went with stone. Ultimately Jon recommended we go with the Timbertek product for the decking which would replace all the existing concrete and wood. One of the reasons we chose Jon was that he served as our GC/construction manager for the work. We had numerous trades on the job including carpenters, electricians, pool people, demo teams, landscapers, stone masons, to name a few, and I did not want to be responsible for managing all of them plus overseeing the critical path. Jon served in that role wonderfully. Another really great thing that Jon did was recommend that we do the work in Fall '15. We originally wanted to have the work done in Spring '16 as our daughter was getting married Nov '15 and we, and my wife in particular, were a bit manic about having the work going on during the same time as the wedding preparations. We are both so happy that we had the work performed in the Fall '15. As I write this we are now enjoying our beautiful backyard. This was a major project and big $investment for us. I can relate one other specific instance of why Jon was the right guy for us. Early in the project, during the demolition and removal of the pool concrete my wife Nancy was freaking out. I called Jon who came over immediately and explained to us both that this is always how it is at the beginning of these type of jobs and that this was the worst part and all would be well. We were both relaxed because of Jon. Lastly, it has been ~7 months since completion of the work and there are a few minor items that are still being worked out. Jon has been great in communicating and sending his guys over to deal with these few, minor matters. Again, we highly recommend Jon Kontz, Plant Design, for any home project, large or small. For a number of reasons I was never happy with the enclosure. I was sure that there must be a better way to enclose a pool, but short of converting it to an indoor pool, I was clueless. None of the local pool companies was of any help, but fortunately I found Pool & Spa enclosures on the web. As others have written, John and Alex are absolutely great to work with. Their enclosures are everything they say they are. The engineering and quality of construction are outstanding, as is the performance of the enclosure. Today, April 21, the outside air temp is 78. Inside the enclosure the air temp is 97, and the water temp is 83. Even though my pool is unheated, I have been swimming in 80 degree water since late March. Previously with the screened enclosure my pool never hit 80 until May. Ditching the screened room and replacing it with a sliding pool enclosure was a great decision. The new enclosure has exceeded my expectations in every way. Great product from a great company!

Be careful with this company…read more We switched to EVO Pools a few years ago because we needed a reliable pool service to open and close our pool. They are a local company as well and seemed reasonable the first year. Last summer, we had them open and clean the pool. They showed on time and communicated arrival. When they arrived, many of the workers (while friendly) don't speak English and so there are a few language barriers during the process. Many times the workers will just instruct to call the office to discuss any questions or next steps. So, asking them about their process or what should expect is futile. A day after they left, the pool was not clean (debris at the bottom and algae on the walls). I called and emailed and the response was that it may take a few times to clean the pool for it to be truly clean. And they would come back "for a charge" to clean it again. What?? And honestly, if I didn't pay A LOT of money to open, I wouldn't have been that upset. So, I simply remembered that I would need to add a cleaning next year and worked to get the pool clean on my own. We used them again this summer, but this time I ordered a cleaning with the opening (as a separate item to which they charged me an hourly rate). The pool reps came (same workers) opened the pool and cleaned it. They let us know that someone would be back for the full cleaning a day later. GREAT! They came back a day later (I was charged 1.5 hours) and cleaned the pool. When they left that day, there was still algae and other sediments in the pool. My husband and I thought this would be cleaned by our filter, expecting that the walls and floor were scrubbed and this is what caused the cloudiness in the water. Two days later when the water cleared, there was still algae on the walls, floors, and around the lights. I reached out to express my concern and the response was "it may take more than a few cleanings" and they were happy to come back out and CHARGE ME AGAIN!!!! It was clear that the work/scrubbing of the pool walls, around the lights, in the creases of the stairs, etc wasn't done at the cleaning. We will never use EVO again. I give them 2 stars for communication because they do quickly respond and especially quick to tell me that they would happily come out and fix the issue at MY expense. And if you have money to burn, you could just have them come out 20 times to clean your pool until it's done and ready for the summer!!
