I have never written a negative review of a company before. Unfortunately, Bob Whitaker of Aqua…read moreRenovations is incredibly unprofessional, dishonest, and unethical. I highly recommend you do not conduct business with this gentleman. As other reviewers have previously written, he is a one man "company" who runs the business out of his Doylestown home, has no real employees, hires lowest bid subcontractors to renovate your pool, has changed his company name numerous times, and according to several other pool renovation companies I have reached out to fix this mess maintains an extremely poor reputation in the industry. We paid him an initial deposit in June 2021. Months passed with nothing happening. Out of the blue, he then proceeded to demolish our family's pool last fall with two young men showing up unannounced at our home without the required township permits. The work was rushed, sloppy, and shoddy. Our automatic pool cover track was removed and bent in the process. The mortar was not properly and completely removed so more demolition and prep work will still need to be done to prepare the pool for its next phase of renovation. Gallons of saltwater were dumped onto our grass, plants, and trees. Our pool was left filled with debris. In addition, the sloppy demolition may have damaged the plumbing which will now need to be pressure tested. Bob Whitaker had no supplies when he demolished our pool. He failed to reserve and secure our necessary materials. He gave my husband the run-around via text messages for nine months. And has left our family with our four year old son pool-less for the upcoming summer season. He refuses to answer calls or return my husband's deposit. Even though, his incomplete and sloppy demolition has provided no savings or value now that we need to hire another contractor to renovate our pool. I hope my warning can prevent someone else from making the same mistake our family made retaining Aqua Renovations' services saving unnecessary stress, unpleasantness, inconvenience, frustration, and the wasting of hard earned money.

Our experience with Anthony & Sylvan Pools was incredibly disappointing and, unfortunately, became…read morea source of stress and frustration that continues to this day. Once the contract for our new pool was signed, communication declined dramatically and customer service became extremely poor. Our pool was one of the first projects started in the spring, yet it wasn't filled with water until September. The company would begin work and then disappear for weeks at a time with little to no communication about delays or scheduling. One of the biggest issues involved the plaster finish. We paid extra for a dark blue pool color, but the finished product was nowhere near what we selected. Instead of a rich dark blue, the pool ended up a light baby blue/sky blue. In addition to the incorrect color, the plaster contained visible footmarks, streaking, and other cosmetic defects. When we raised these concerns, we were repeatedly told that acid washes and treatments would resolve the issues. Multiple acid washes were performed, but nothing improved. The color never changed, and instead we experienced significant wear and damage to our filtration system from the repeated treatments. After months of excuses and failed attempts, the company finally agreed that the pool needed to be replastered. We were assured that the new plaster would be darker, stronger, and a permanent solution. Unfortunately, after the very first winter, cracks appeared throughout the pool and sections of plaster began flaking off. When we contacted the company again, we were told that because the pool was not actively losing water, the cracking and deterioration were considered "normal" and would not be covered. This review is actually a very abbreviated version of what we experienced. For more than five years, I attempted to work with Anthony & Sylvan to address these issues. Each time I was met with delays, excuses, or outright refusal to honor what I believed should have been covered under warranty. What was especially discouraging was hearing from multiple employees and subcontractors who came to our home over the years that our situation was not unique. Several indicated that customer complaints were common, that warranty claims were routinely denied, and that customers were often delayed and redirected until they eventually gave up pursuing repairs. At one point I considered legal action, but was told by employees that the company had attorneys readily available and was largely unconcerned about lawsuits. Whether true or not, that attitude reflected the overall experience we had as customers. A swimming pool should be a wonderful addition to a home and a source of enjoyment for a family. Instead, every time I look at ours, I am reminded of years of frustration, unfulfilled promises, and a significant financial investment that never delivered the quality we were sold. Based on our experience, I would advise EVERYONE to choose another pool company what you may save in the short term is not worth the frustration and end product

If we got the unit that we agreed on it wouldn't be so giant in the space. Thermostat has been wacky since February. He told us needs to be replaced. We bought our own Google Learning Nest thermostat off Amazon, and you heard it here first folks, DON'T DO THAT! It wouldn't work and I regret not letting Joe provide it himself. To be clear - I intended to post this review as soon Tri-County Residential Contractors had…read morefinished their work here - my apologies to John for taking so long! In the aftermath of the unexpected passing of my sister, who had completely withdrawn from the world - from me, as her only surviving family member, from her neighbors, and friends - I was suddenly presented with the opportunity to move into my family home in Upper Gwynedd Twp. early in 2024. I had moved away in 1986 to get married, have kids, and then moved to New England with my then wife, who had originally come from Rhode Island, and still had family there. For reasons that we will never fully understand, in the years after my mom had had a debilitating stroke, and had to be in an assisted living home, my sister had allowed this magnificent home to fall into a complete state of disrepair. When the furnace stopped working a couple years earlier, and with a basement fuel oil tank that needed to be replaced, she chose to rely on the two fireplaces for warmth, only, never repaired the furnace, and lived without hot water for the last two or three years of her life here. As one might expect, that led to issues in the home that needed immediate attention upon my arrival in March. I went onto the popular "List" website to find an HVAC contractor to come in and repair a leaking pipe in a hot water baseboard heater and to get the furnace started (at this point, I still wasn't aware that the fuel oil tank was no longer approved to hold fuel oil). Two or three different contractors quickly responded to my request on the "List" website, and although I was entirely naïve as to what steps to take next, I had learned from other experiences in my life that it's always a good idea to look for independent reviews of various services, products, and contractors prior to moving forward with a purchase, or a contract. Sure enough, the two or three contractors who had jumped on my request through Angi only had so-so reviews, at best. I wasn't impressed by any of them, but in searching for reviews on them, I kept seeing very positive reviews for Tri-County Residential Contractors right here in town. I reached out to Tri-County and spoke to John Brady, who set up a time to come over and get the restoration started. A couple days later, he stopped by and welded the leaking copper pipe for the heat in the sunroom out back, then advised me on a couple of steps to take next, before moving ahead with trying to get the furnace fired up. When I certain there were no more leaking baseboards - I chose to isolate one bedroom for the short term, as a cast iron baseboard there was leaking and my preference was to try to replace that baseboard, rather than installing the slant / fin / tube baseboard that John was ready to move on, had I wanted to go in that direction - John came over to take a look at and work on the oil-fired New Yorker tankless hot water furnace, which had not been fired up in several years. Because he knew that I was not sitting on a lot of cash, as I was in the process of settling both my mom's and my sister's estates at that point, he tested the furnace, including the relay and the zone valves, and was kind enough to give me the results. He guided me as to exactly what he wanted me to buy - I went onto eBay to get what I needed, with the relay having been discontinued by Honeywell in 2012, but I found a new one there - and what I needed to do to install the parts. I was able to make those repairs myself. I went to fill my fuel oil tank and spoke to the big indoor / outdoor company in Souderton. When they told me they would not fill my existing 60-year-old tank, John gave me the name of one of his vendor friends, who wound up installing the new tank and saving me hundreds of dollars versus what the Souderton firm had quoted. John came back and was able to fire up the furnace, and it's been running dependably ever since! I can't recommend Tri-County Residential Contractors highly enough to accurately reflect John's service, pricing, professionalism, quality of work, follow-up, support, and reliability. Hoping I can stay here - there is still a lot of work to do to bring the house back to its original glory - and I won't ever call anyone else. In fact, next summer, we have to get the central AC running. I'm probably going to need a new unit, and it will be John who will do that work for me. Sincere thanks to you, John!
