Just received my wife's video for the Bellflower HS 1968 reunion; excellent all the way around. Great photography, great editing, but most of all excellent job by the video interviewer who talked to all the attendees and got them to tell stories, aspirations, and personal tidbits. I see a lot of negative reviews here because people don't realize the work involved. Weddings and reunions peak in the summer, creating a backlog in the winter of work, post-production editing, and video creation when they are done. The worst thing to happen is when a bride or reunion committee calls up and says, "oh, we have one more thing to add, please". For all the people who did receive your videos later than expected, I hope you go back and correct your totally erroneous reviews. I was not able to attend my 50 year high school reunion but was told that this company filmed it and would make a video for purchase. On October 13 I sent them a check for $33.95 which was quickly cashed. As of today, December 19th, I still have not received a DVD. I have called multiple times only to be told they were extremely busy but that it should be sent within the next couple of weeks. I've been hearing that for over 6 weeks. Don't know what's going on, but they had time to cash my check! Where is my DVD???? Be careful before doing business with this company. read more

Richard personally did the filming of our 50th reunion in June 2018 in Fresno, California. Somehow he managed to stay almost invisible, but captured every wonderful second of our event in perfect detail. The DVD is 80 minutes long and was available for purchase within a couple weeks of the event. It contains a beautiful portrayal of our venue, the decorations, food, ambience, personal interviews with almost everyone (and we had 250 people....!) and so much more. For those of us who attended, watching the video to see who we didn't get to talk to was great. For anyone not attending, this is the perfect way to feel like you did. I highly recommend hiring this company to film any important events you have coming up - from the samples I watched to our actual DVD, they do a fantastic job in creating a very cool memory of these once-in-a-lifetime events! read more

We had Raines Video Productions Video tape our South High School of Denver, Colorado 50th reunion. The crew appeared to be doing a good job however we have not seen the final product. It was promised to be in our hands in approximately one month after it was filmed. Our reunion was in mid September, 2018. This is now January 5th, 2019 and still not one classmate has received their DVD even though their DVD or DVD's were paid for by Credit card or checks were cashed by Raines. I myself called to see what the delay was, only to get a recording telling me that no one was available to take my call and leave a message. I am still waiting for a response to my message. Classmates who have been able to contact Raines were told that the DVD's should be arriving by the end of December at the latest. We can understand that due to the many venues that Raines Video Productions handles there can be some delay, especially if extra footage is requested. In our case no extra footage was requested after the fact. Our suggestion to Raines is don't take on more than you can handle or get more personnel hired so that you can handle the business that you have. In reading other reviews, we can see that there are people who are happy with the final product. If and when we get our DVD's and they are of the high quality that some people have expressed then I and other classmates of the South high Class of 1968 will be happy to write a good review concerning the actual production of the DVD. Classmates raved about the quality of the video, especially the "roving reporter" interviews with very resourceful questions. Richard was desperate for a videographer to work a reunion in Boise, ID. He offered a very small rate of pay but was seeking people with the equipment and not a professional videographer. I needed rent money and I responded. I was clear with him that while I knew how to work a camera, I was not a professional and it was clear that he understood this. It has now been several weeks since pay was promised and I have not been paid or responded to by Richard Raines. I caution anyone seeking to work for Richard as a videographer or purchasing class reunion videos to look elsewhere. Better services for similar prices exist and are not nearly as smarmy. I wish I would have done more research before I agreed to take 6+ hours to work a hot, crowded event and hire an assistant I am unable to pay. read more

Five stars for the video/dvd production end-product for the 50th high school reunion. Richard interviewed the classmates in a way that brought out their personalities and interactions with each other. The lighting, and scene transitions are well done. You can view examples on his website. I placed my order by phone, and he said I would receive the DVD in two to three weeks. The DVD arrived nearly 5 weeks after ordering. Bottom line for me is that the DVD production is excellent, and if he would just give a realistic delivery time, it would be 5 stars overall! You can order the DVD even if you don't attend the reunions, so it is a great way to catch up with classmates. I recommend the service for the outstanding product I received. read more

I finally received my video after waiting nearly six months. It was well done and very enjoyable to watch. I was concerned by previous reviews that I would never receive it. However my assumption is they are small and their output is big and it takes them a while to edit, produce, and mail out the videos. Be patient it will arrive eventually. read more

This guy should not be doing business since average consumer is not able to get his attention and the product, which has been paid for, in a timely manner. I had to provide a proof of payment by sending him a copy of the cashed check, and even then, I had to get the organizer of our 40th high school reunion involved for him to respond to my phone calls and emails. After about 45 days of wasted effort, the CD arrived without any acknowledgement of his incompetence or an apology. Interesting thing about the whole matter was that most of my classmates received their CDs and it didn't take any effort or cost for him to place a CD in the mail. Because he didn't have the common sense to do that he is deserving of a lousy Yelp rating. read more

Sent $35 in early November for a tape of my high school reunion. Still no tape as we enter the New Year. Before Christmas, the company said they took on too much business to send the tape on time. Subsequent calls and emails go unanswered. I filed a complaint with the BBB, where the company has a B- rating. They don't accept credit cards which is another warning. Our 50th reunion was in sept of 2014. I paid my $30 +tax and never received the video. So far no call back when I complained. I actually saw a friend's video and asked for my $$ back. I never expected them to send me a refund but I thought a call back would be nice. I think that's a huge amount to charge considering it costs pennies for them to copy it. When the company was slow in getting the video to me, I became concerned and called them. My phone call was returned immediately and was told I would receive the video soon, which I did. I wish I could choose a MINUS 4 stars rating. Raines Video Productions was hired to videotape our 50th High School Reunion in Albuquerque NM in Sept. 2013. They seemed to have been videotaping our reunion for 2 events covering 2 days. The middle of October I ordered a dvd of this event, they cashed my check Oct. 30th. It is now Jan. 6, 2014 and I still do not have my dvd. I have called several numbers - no answer, I have emailed - no reply. Finally, a classmate was contacted and told the dvds would be mailed out Dec. 15th. Jan. 6, 2014 is here and nothing. After finding these other reviews today, I don't understand why this company isn't being sued - they will be soon because all of these Baby Boomers who had their 50th class reunions videoed by this company will not allow this rip-off to continue unpunished! read more

UPDATE May 2017 Finally received my video several months late but at least the did finally DVD arrive. DVD was a good production. I would highly suggest Raines Video take more attention to delivery, maybe use UPS and charge more to the customer, rather then using the post office. Changing star to 4. I emailed and they claimed my video was sent with a batch of others, yet no video. I asked him to resend with tracking. Only received a lame excuse that US Post Office does not offer tracking. WHAT? My 50th high school reunion was in mid-Sept., 2014. The original information letter in Oct. said the video would be ready in 2-3 weeks. When it wasn't ready I called him and was again told it would be a few weeks. I asked him to transfer some video to DVD for me - and I would pick up the completed DVD and high school video at the same time (he is in Portland, Or. and so am I). It has now been 3-4 more weeks, no video and he hasn't converted my VHS to DVD yet. I am going to pick up my tapes from him tomorrow and will find someone who will actually do what they say they will do in the time they say they will do it. Excuse - he has been very busy and people want their video my Christmas - well, so do I and it doesn't look like that will happen. Would never recommend this company. read more

Since I was busy making sure everyone was having an enjoyable time there were classmate visits and parts of the central program that I missed. It was a moment of joy to be able to see and those friends and listen to all of the program in your video. The videographer did a great job gathering small groups to share their individual memories as well as getting shots of all of the fun. Receiving my copy took just a couple of weeks longer than what we were told but I think it is better to be edited correctly than have it rushed. One nice benefit was that classmates who could not attend the reunion still had the opportunity to see and listen to their friends from the past. My video arrived about 3 months after our 50th reunion. :( But it was really well done. :) I had just watched a few minutes of it, when I put it on the roof of my car while getting something out of my pocket. I then drove off, it fell off on the road, and I found it a day or two later, with tire tracks on it. No longer viewable. So I left a phone message with Raines. I asked for a replacement and offered to send back the damaged one. I also said that if they required it, I would just buy another one and pay again. I got a call back from Richard, he left a message and said just throw out the old one and we'll send a replacement, no charge. You'll have it in a week. :) :) :) Very happy graduate. Of course it took 2 weeks. :( So I got a great product, good videos and interviews. And I got a free replacement after I accidentally damaged the DVD. Just had to wait a little. Twice. i had to wait three months before i got my video. they said it would be 80 minutes long and 62 minutes was printed on the disc. it ran 59 minutes. however i have nothing but good things to say about the video. i was unable to attend because of another conflicting event. they interviewed many classmates and they included a reading of classmates who had passed away. it was very well done and well worth it. i had to wait but i did get the video and was completely satisfied with it. read more

I phoned in my order because I had some questions, left a message on their answering machine, they got back to me the same day, took my order over the phone and charged it to my credit card. Today is October 26, and thus far, those of us who sent our money for a copy of the video have received nothing! Hillside NJ class of 1966 50th reunion. Held Sep 24 2016. Got their letter Oct 13 2016. Sent check the same day. Called 3 times; all 3 calls got return calls. On Jan 5 2017 was told "will be mailed in 7 days." On Jan 27 2017 was told "should be out this weekend -- Friday or Saturday." Received in the mail Feb 18 2017. Zero stars for truthfulness and timeliness. FIVE stars for good work editing and putting together the whole thing. Average rating, erring on the side of trying to be positive: three stars. The WORK is excellent, the business management is sadly lacking -- but they DID return the phone calls. read more

Ordered a class reunion video thru Raines Video and paid for it with my Visa card 7-29-13 for a cost of 33.95. The delivery date said 2-4 wks. They ignored about 5 e-mails I've sent and ignored some of the voice messages. I managed to speak with them twice and each time they said the video would be sent out in 1 week. The organizers of the reunion have sent me a message that they keep promising delivery dates but it appears that we may have been scammed. read more
