Canes is pretty good chicken in Dekalb/sycamore. My mom and I tried it one day after some shipping. Really enjoyed the sauce! An update. Despite the corporations shortcommings, the staff is friendly and does their level best to accomodate. I would still avoid using the app and their hours leave a lot to be desired, but they still are among the best chicken in the area, with only two other places in Sycamore and Dekalb for chicken as of this writing that, in fairness, are not chains. Really hope this one sticks around and corp looks at the issues I listed seriously. read more

The chicken here is okay but the sauce is what gives flavors. They have sometimes messed up my orders but for the most part they get them right. I love coming through the drive thru to get their chicken. They almost had five stars from me, but the issue was I couldn't see their menu. Probably technical issues but other than that my food was fresh. I've tried the Crystal Lake location twice. Food was OK but overpriced in my opinion. Only have had carry out, so can't rate the service.

Let me preface this by saying I've spent over 20 years working in retail and other customer facing jobs. I can honestly say that I've never once in my life yelled at or harassed a retail worker (and still didn't, for the record). I try to go out of my way to be as nice to them as possible because I've been in their shoes. I've been the one getting yelled at by a customer with a shitty attitude over a minor mistake, so I know how often people can make their lives suck, and it's not cool. Now all that out of the way, this person should probably be fired because holy crap, there's no way this is their SOP on customer service. My wife and I went through the drive-thru, and the employee literally refused to take our order three times unless we said "chicken" first. They've got kitschy catchphrases, whatever, I get that it's their brand. When your customer doesn't feel like being patronized and just wants to order some chicken, maybe take the fucking hint instead of playing asinine word games. "Hey what's kickin', want some chicken?" "Hi, still looking, it'll be just a minute." "When you're done pickin', just say chicken!" *takes a minute to figure out the order* "Okay I'm all set, can I get a Caniac comb..." "I didn't hear 'chicken'." *Are they fucking serious?* "...I'd like a Caniac combo with..." "I still didn't hear 'chicken'." "Okay, no, seriously, if you don't take my order I'm just going to leave." "That's fine, you just need to say 'chicken'." There's no way that's how this person was trained to deal with customers. I didn't cuss at them or insult them, I didn't yell, I barely even raised my voice as I got irritated. I don't know if this was an employee having a power trip, or a supervisor who drank too much of the koolaid on the importance of their corporate-mandated slogans, but it's completely fucking nuts. If I ever told a customer I wouldn't help them unless they jumped through hoops for me first, my ass would be fired, and rightly so. And for the record--based on my previous experience with them-- the sauce and fries are good, the chicken itself is just mediocre. read more

This Raising Canes has some really good chicken. Everything seems consistent, including the people's comments about the Bathroom doors. After I was done eating, I went into the restroom to drop my deposit, however, When I closed the door, I almost shyt myself because of how earth-shatteringly loud the door was. I went here to pick up my order and it was pouring rain, I thought since no one was in the drive thru I could ask if they would give me my order at the window so I wouldn't get soaking wet. This raising canes has the loudest most earth shattering door in the mens restroom. I mean LOUD. It closed behind me and I was having war flashbacks from the raw decibels vibrating my ear drums. Employees are nice. Scenery is cool. Overhyped food. Don't get me wrong, the chicken is amazing. The fries are a solid 3/5. But if you're expecting something revolutionary, don't. Definitely better than other fast food chicken though. read more

horrible... We went to Cane's after having rough day. Orderd 25 pc. chicken tenders pack and 3 "Frie packs" for a total of $52.96 through the drive thru. Payed for it and we were told to park "at the curbside pickup section" and that they would bring it to us, and so we did. or atleast tried to. it was full. so we waited untill a person left the parked. order placed at 4:10 AND WAITED A FULL ON 25-30 MIN for 25 pc. chiken tenders, note: IT TOOK THE TIME TO ORDER AND GET TO THE WINDOW to get a 50 pc. chiken tender pack last time same place. We walked inside to see wtf is going on and ITS STILL NOT READY. Then we attempted to cancel the order but then "MAGIC" happened and it was there. so then we did not cancel. we asked if there was sauces in there, they said yes. gusse what, no sauces. NOT 1 SAUCE. Came back in and got the sauces. TOOK OUT 40-60 MIN out of our sunday. WHAT A SHAME. so next time, when you consider going to Cane's, think of this review and what could happen. read more

The last time I went there I had gotten a gift card for my sister, When I received the card the cashier said the money was on it. My bank took the money out of my account too..I went to the restaurant to order some food $50 worth. Upon paying, the card never had the money on it and the cashier took it. I obviously didn't have any money other than the gift card so I had to tell them to take it back. read more
