Always a favorite for late night on campus and after drinking at Molly's. Been eating the BBQ wings for years now, never fails. Way better than Bdubs! Support small businesses during corona! My boyfriend and I ordered lunch specials- I got 8 piece wing and he got 3 piece tenders. $16 and tons of food, fries and a drink- a can of pop. In honor of the late, great Rick James I wish I had more hands so I could give this place four thumbs down. And here's why: 1. I ordered a gyro plate and catfish via Uber Eats. When the driver arrived there was a pizza puff and some other random white fish. We asked the driver to take it back and get the proper order. He took the wrong order, but never went back to the Sharks. 2. I called the Sharks to let them know my order was incorrect and that I would like the proper order. The guy stated that they don't have gyros and asked if I wanted something else. Why is it listed as an option if they don't have it? Fine, I'll take the catfish from my original order and catfish nuggets as a substitute. 3. Twenty minutes later and nothing back from the Uber Eats driver, so at this point it's been over an hour since I placed the original order and I decide to drive to this Sharks myself. 4. I roll outta bed, 7 months pregnant might I add, dress myself and my toddler to go out in the cold and drive to this Sharks. At this point it's been at least 30 minutes since I placed the alternative order. We get out of the car, walk inside and there are two other folks waiting on their food. I asked the gent if my order was ready and he states that they hadn't started it yet. Really bruh? It's been 30 minutes and the place ain't busy...! 5. Finally my food is ready after I complained about being pregnant and having to drag my 2 year-old out in the cold to retrieve food I already paid and tipped a delivery driver for. This dude offers me a soda...smh! What the heck is that supposed to do? I want a dang refund, but whatever. I'm so hungry and the baby in my belly was probably starving too, so I left with my food and toddler in tow. The lack of empathy and apology was great (please know I'm being sarcastic). And to top it off, the food wasn't even good. It was like eating fake Sharks. Nothing even close to being yummy like the Sharks spots in Chicago. Sharks in DeKalb is a horrible service. I ordered a 100 pieces of chicken and Sharks allowed a random person to take my order without confirmation. When I called, they refused to replace it and it was for a memorial service. I was completely in shock. I do not recommend. read more

I live a long way from Delalb and only come to visit a friend. I make sure no matter what happens to stop at this restaurant. I have never had a reason to complain the staff is extremely nice and the food is always fresh. Hands down the best chicken I have had in my life. Head my word, make sure you get the lemon pepper seasoning. read more

I've been meaning to try this new place for a while now. Fish and Chicken are the advertised specialties, so I went with the old standby of fish and chips (I love cod). Both the fish and fries (not proper chips) were pulled out of the freezer and dumped into the deep fat fryer. The fries are decent, they have a good crisp to them and have a rich flavor. The fried fish, on the other hand, ruined the experience. First off, it was frozen. Second, the cod is sliced so incredibly thin that each bite contains more breading than fish. When I could actually taste the fish, it lacked flavor. The fish tasted faintly of cod. It is also worth mentioning that the tartar sauce comes in packets. Market as a fish place, and at least that should be fresh. Greasy college food at best, probably won't return. read more

Food is over-salted on every order. Delivery orders typically sit there for 30 minutes before pick up and the food is cold when it gets to me. I've called several times about the quality of the food (fish overcooked & dry or under-cooked and slimy), cold food, etc. The typical answer is basically "too bad". Sharks is a great chicken and shrimp dine in restaurant joint. I usually get their Chicken Philly, it's their best over the 4 years I've been coming here. I also like their chicken sandwich, and their red velvet cake is drool worthy. Their dine in atmosphere is rather bland and boring, but the food is delicious. A great place to head to! read more

Very lackluster. I went in to order the $5 buffalo wings for my lunch break. When I received my order, I asked if they had any ranch dipping sauce (as shown on their menu). They said I only get the sauce that was on the wings. Strange, but whatever. I sit down and see that they gave me honey wings. I bring it back up and wait for a good couple of minutes because the cook completely disappeared. When he finally returned, I say they gave me the wrong order. The cook begins to argue with me that I ordered the honey wings (which I know for a fact that I didn't). He offers to make me a new batch, but by that time, I needed to get back to work. My family and I have ordered from here a couple of times. I have always tried to give people and places the old "benefit of the doubt", which is why we've ordered from here more than once, otherwise that would not have been the case. Our first experience ordering from here, I placed the order online and when the food was delivered, I noticed that there were a couple of mistakes made. For one, we ordered a 2 liter Coke but they bought us RC (Royal Crown) which is not Coke and it doesn't agree with my boyfriend. Also, we ordered the 30 wing party platter, which says that it comes with a 2 liter and fries. We had to call back, once the delivery driver left, and inform the staff that we never received the fries that were supposed to come with the chicken. The second time that I ordered from them, the order was also placed online that time. I ordered a Pizza Puff and Fries for my daughter off of the side order menu and a few other meals for the rest of my family. When the order arrived at my home, I noticed that the 2 Orange sodas that were ordered was changed to 2 Sprites and the 2 liter Sprite was changed to a 2 liter Orange soda, which was fine but it was not what we ordered. Also, I never received the cake that was included in this order but I did receive the cheesecake (so at least my boyfriend was happy with his dessert). And, my daughters' pizza puff was slightly burnt at the bottom so she ate the edible parts and had to throw the rest away. I tried to give this place a chance since I remember Sharks from when I used to live in the city and I absolutely loved them but the Sharks in DeKalb has definitely left a "bad taste in my mouth" and I will not be ordering from them anymore. Maybe they have better memories if the customer goes into the restaurant and orders but when it is an order placed online and for delivery it seems that they just cannot (and do not care to) get it right. Also, the customer service is not the greatest. Over the phone, it sounds like a bunch of teenagers work here and it seems like they all have attitudes when you call to correct something. Needless to say that both of my experiences have been unpleasant with them and we will not be ordering from them anymore. They got our order wrong one time too many and it is time for us to give some other restaurants our business. At least the other restaurants take time to read and ensure that your order is correct, if you place it online. Just dropped $17 plus for 2 fish "dinners" here. both the menu board and print menu list fish dinners come with fries, coleslaw and bread. I get home with fish and fries. I called to rectify the items I PAID FOR but didn't get and spoke with someone who seemed disinterested and claimed they don't include that anymore... Really? The pizza puff was under cooked and doughy, and the fish was more breading than fish. We ordered our dinner off of campus special; the campus special menu stated that the $5 dollar special included drinks and the website prompted us to choose our drinks, therefore it was reasonable for us to expect drinks. The delivery person (who came an hours and a half after we ordered) didn't bring drinks, so we called to asked why. The manager was so ridiculously rude and proceeded to argue with us about the fact that the website was wrong. Well, that's not our problem. I always order the fried chicken wings with mild sauce. Twice I had it delivered and they were super-fast! Third time I ordered carry-out and had the wings with lemon pepper which was delicious. The store was clean and the staff was very polite. I miss this kind of chicken being from Chicago, and this satisfies my cravings. Im from the south suburbs of Chicago so Sharks is not new to me. I actually had two surrounding my house so I always walked there after school. They didn't deliver where I'm from so I was Glad that DeKalb's Sharks delivered. Boy was I wrong! I tried to call and cancel part of my order that I made mistakenly on the website but the worker didn't understand what I was trying to do. He still charged me for my old order and didn't even give me what I wanted on my new order! He never gave me my money back either! I never had this experience at Sharks back at home.
