This shop has done welding and machine work for some personal projects. The prices are reasonable and the work is done right and on time.

First off have been coming here for about 6 years with decent customer service…read more Came in to purchase 6 gauge standard expanded steel a few days ago. Was told over the phone that they were sold in 4x4 sheets. Got to the store and they said they could only sell it in full sheets of 4x8 (not a big deal). Ended up paying to have the 4x8 sheet cut. Got it home and realized the ends were even and the center was off by 1.75" (not even close to being straight), it was dome shaped. So 4" were wasted and I had to make two additional cuts to get it straight. Then brought it to my fabricator and it turns out it isn't even what I had ordered. It's flattened, not standard like what I ordered and confirmed (didn't know there was a difference). Came back to get the correct stuff and they said there was nothing they could do about my previous order because they had cut it. $180 down the drain for a piece that was not what I ordered and not cut straight. Not even a partial refund or anything on the next correct sheet. Had a good relationship with a few of the employees but this is the last time I do business here. UPDATE: Spoke with Shelby who provided great customer service unlike the female I had previously dealt with. Ultimately, a refund was issued and the mistake was corrected. Very disappointed that it took a bad review for them to finally correct their mistake, but am happy with the outcome.

I recently worked with Efficient Ironworks and couldn't be happier with the entire experience…read more Paul, the owner, is truly exceptional. My deck has a lot of odd angles and was a complicated project, but Paul made everything feel easy. He was extremely communicative--texted me back right away, came out immediately to give me a quote, and always answered every follow-up question I had. It was genuinely a pleasure working with him. My custom-designed railing (64 linear feet) was hot-dip galvanized and took about six weeks from start to finish. Paul recommended a matte black finish because the hot-dip process can leave slight irregularities, but it ensures the metal will never rust. He was absolutely right--the final result is stunning. The railing was installed the day before my birthday party, and we made it just in time. All of my guests and neighbors were blown away by how beautiful everything turned out. Paul is professional, reliable, and highly skilled. I would honestly ignore any one-star reviews--they do not reflect the quality of his work or service. I look forward to hiring him again in the future for a security gate and more ironwork projects. Five stars, easily.

Thankfully we found Paul and Isaac at Efficient Iron Works. They worked with us to come up with a design that was clean, decorative, but not too ornate, and gave us several recommendations for what would look good. They were responsive, professional, and finished the job sooner than expected. The quality of their work exceeded our expectations and their price fit our budget.

I had hired another guy that did a horrible job attempting to install my new gate but had to stop him as he was damaging the concrete mounted posts and had no experience. But lucky enough Abe the owner of Level Up was referred and his expertize was exactly what my project needed. He concrete mounted my new gate and fence. Abe and his crew made sure it was straight, secure and installed correctly. His skills had him modify some metal brackets to secure the gate and upgraded some bolts and screws to much heavy duty versions for better reliabitly. He was dealing with sloaped concrete which made our project more challenging to make it look level and straight. We could not be happier with the result. I only wish I met him earlier. Abe was fast with response and availabity. He was extremely professional, knowledgable and a pleasure to work with. He cleaned up the site and even took it apon himself to remove all the old fence, trash and boxes from the jobsite. Really going up and above expectations. I would highly recommend Level Up Fabrication and Construction. They are a metal fabrication company but they are much more than that.

WARNING!!!! Michael Orlando, dba Santee Welding, may know how to weld, but he sure knows nothing…read moreabout fabricating or cutting a 90 degree angle, for that matter. He obviously does not have the proper tools to do anything but weld two pieces of metal together. I bet he doesn't even own a tape measure....he couldn't even center a piece of metal for me. I asked him to weld one prototype for me. After a one month delay due to his saw blade breaking, I finally stopped by only to learn that he had cut and welded all 64 pieces that I had ordered. NONE OF WHICH I COULD USE!. Words cannot describe how awful they looked. There were no square corners. Instead everything was cut free-hand. It looks as though he tried to grind the cuts to make them look straighter. An impossible task as they were so poorly cut. When I told him his work was unacceptable, I received an email from him stating that there was nothing in our agreement that said how much "deviation" was allowed. Forget deviation....I cannot describe how poorly they looked without using profanity. A child with a pencil and ruler could have made a straighter line. Too make a long story short, I told him to keep my $1,000 deposit. I would rather cut my losses short than deal with someone that lacks any abilities when it comes to welding. I went to Santee Welding because I am a return client to this establishment. Unfortunately, the gentleman that used to own Santee Welding has passed. Now there was a class act. May he rest in peace.
