Friendly group of guys doing professional work. I recommend them for welding jobs done right with a fair price. They repaired my aluminum 25gal diesel tank in just a few days. They were honest about the life expectancy of the aging tank but saved me over $700 on a new tank, by reinforcing the bottom. Upon refilling with diesel, I discovered a leak behind a mounting bracket. (Hidden behind a weld). I took it back and they fixed it while I waited. About 15 minutes. Went in to see Ramon, and offer money for a tee shirt. (He said "thanks, most people don't offer to pay, they just want") He asked how he knew me, I said " we use your services at our shop" he smiled and acknowledged. I said while I'm here, I would like to see if you have any small scraps that I could make some shackle mounts for my Jeep bumper. He said " hell, I'll just make it for you, those are easy. I just need to know the bumper height. Oh, and do you want to buy a hat? " "No thanks". " You should buy a hat"... I took that to mean we will be square, and bought the hat I didn't want". I came in a couple weeks later, told him the bumper height, and hole diameter. He said "well, did you make a template?" I said no, you told me you have made these before and you just needed the height" . He went over to a bench grabbed scissors, and paper and quickly cut out a template and said " see, that wasn't so hard was it" ( in a very condescending tone). I called the next day, and the next. A week later I left a message saying" I'm on my way down there". He was cutting the part while I walked in. He said he didn't have the metal he wanted, so he used some scrap. I wasn't going to complain for something I was getting for free. Then I said " I know your busy, don't worry about rounding the edges, I will take care of that. He used a punch to make the hole ( which wound up being the wrong size (gave him the wrong hole size)). I mentioned that the punch was a cool way of doing it. He responded with this isn't my first rodeo" ( also in a condescending tone. I thanked him and was about to give him $20 to show my appreciation, and he said "oh, that will be $40". I just stared at him with my $20 in hand like he must be kidding, he wasn't. I handed him the $40, still waiting for a "just kidding" The quality was terrible. I should have stuck to doing it in my garage with crude tools, but again I thought he was extending a professional courtesy. I found a set on Amazon that were thicker, rounded, finished and drilled for $29 w/free shipping. I feel like such a fool for letting him talk to me in his condescending manner, handing me a piss poor product, after implying he would hook me up. Our companies have a good report, and I thought that meant something. I would hate to see how he talks to strangers, and what he charges them read more

Called them about a small welding job on my mothers walker. They invited me to come in so they could look. They happily took the walker in on the spot and fixed it within 15 minutes. Everyone was happy and outgoing and despite the fact that this company does large jobs like armored trucks etc they were happy to take it on. I have had two projects done by them now; fixing a broken tab on my rear bench for my KeyWest 225 WA and helping to reinforce my hardtop when some of the factory welds started to show hairline cracks. As the name states-they are Chingon! My boys have a crazy project they wanted to do for a long time and it was outside of my and grandpa's skillset and tool box. The owner, Ramon, was a straight up guy, a real old school man-like you'd see Eastwood intro to that kid in Gran Torino to, though with a kind demeanor tossed in. The boys showed these craftsmen their CAD design and they recommended a type of steel that would be best. Off my boys were to the steel shop. Once we got the steel and brought it back they were ready and willing to make the boys crazy idea come to its next stage of life. From the sidelines outside of shop my 4 boys watched as Prometheus, or was it Vulcan formed their raw materials into a giant 4' steel wheel. I am sure we will be back many times as my boys grow to men and continue to MAKE things, learning men's skills, and finishing off their project and moving on to the next. I needed to do a keel extension to increase the righting moment on my custom built 55' sailboat. I spent months prepping for this project; I interviewed about 8 metal fabricators, 3 riggers, 3 carpenters and 5 boatyards before commencing the project which was very, very involved (I'm a Mechanical Engineer and anal about everything) Two boatyards on Shelter Island recommended Chingon for the keel construction (which was adding a section on to the existing steel fin for my fin and bulb keel), and I must say he did an outstanding job. This part of the project was the most critical. These guys can make anything. Ramone is a genius I had a number of people look at my boat to try and figure out how to mount an autopilot, they scratched their heads. In 2 minutes Ramone figured out the geometry and made a template and had a mount fabricated in a couple of days when everyone else said it couldn't be done. It has worked great for years without any problem. I have gone back for all sorts of welding projects and they are always super helpful, reasonable, professional, great to work with and share ideas and deliver on time.
