So I struggled to write this because I used to love this restaurant. The portion sizes were…read moresignificantly shrunk, and the brewed coffee was horrendous. I usually get a latte there but decided on a regular one, that was a mistake. Their food did taste good, and their chutney was still delicious but the service was a bit gruff. They weren't rude by any means but I was ignored for 10 mins just waiting to ask for a takeout box. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed and probably having an off morning, so I didn't take it personally. But when I'm paying $30 for one breakfast bowl and a coffee, I'd expect more than 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half and a few mushrooms in it. The food is delicious but you're definitely overpaying and 50/50 on the coffee lol

In search for weekend brunch this place came up we thought of trying it out. Parking in streets is…read morenot existent. Had really look at side streets a bit far to get one. All the nearby spots are reserved for the apartment dwellers in the building. Ordered a Huevo Ranchero ($16) - which came with scrambled eggs two corn tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and a side order of fries. The eggs could have used some seasoning even with salsa it needed something extra A Vegan Breakfast Bowl ($14) - a mixture of tofu, spinach, mushrooms and tomato chutney - which somehow tasted to all 4 of us like onion chutney. The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The order did take a long time, the table not clean when we sat, no condiments on the table and coffee refills slow. An extra star for giving tons of vegan options

My husband and I had breakfast here together on a day that we were both off from work. While it was not fancy, it was very affordable and tasted good. Queensview Cafe is located on the main floor of an office building. However, it's open to the public, you don't need to work in the building to access it. It is hidden away around the back of the building and is not visible from the street, so unless you're looking for it, you'll likely never just stumble upon it. Well, unless you actually work in the building or are going there for business. Anyway, y'all know I love those hidden spots! My husband had the full breakfast ($7.50) which came with 2 eggs, toast, home fries and your choice of meat (bacon, ham or sausage), and a large coffee ($2.50). I got a breakfast sandwich ($4.50). My sandwich came on a toasted English muffin and had bacon, egg and cheese in it. I forgot to say no butter on the bread, so it was generously buttered, which some may like, but I prefer my bread dry. It was too greasy for my liking, but that was on me. Otherwise, the sandwich was tasty. The bacon was crispy and the cheese was well melted. My husband liked his dish. He enjoyed the home fries which were crispy and nicely seasoned, although he noted they were a bit heavy-handed with the salt. I had a cube and I would agree. His bacon was also crispy. His eggs were over-hard like he requested. He has no complaints about his coffee. The place is very spacious and feels even bigger due to the high ceilings and tall glass windows. Very nice ambiance, especially for an office building cafeteria. It's open to the public, so you don't have to work in the building to access it (like you don't need a building pass or anything like that). Service was courteous. And when we left they thanked us for supporting their business. Their hours are limited. They aren't open weekends or evenings, so their target demographic really is the office building workers. They sell lunch as well and have items like burgers, fries, soup and sandwiches with also reasonable prices. I regret not knowing about this place when I worked in the area. Free parking is available in the office building parking lot. (30)

My own mom would make this and she would also come here to eat! The potatoes are natural and fresh and crispy. Not at all over seasoned or oily! My salt loving husband thought it was a little bland, but I was happy that it was better for his heart! Just look at this menu! We're here in Ottawa for a tournament and decided to also order wraps to have for lunch. We haven't eaten them yet but the smell and look is amazing. This is a smaller restaurant with only one server. So don't come here if you're in a rush. But the portions are big and the food is fresh so it's worth the wait.

I honestly don't know how they do it. Prices are incredible, and the only place (that I know of) that has breakfast meat options other than bacon/ham/sausage. Gyro is my favorite, but you can also choose a hamburger patty, or chicken breast. The only con is that, because all the food is made to order, if you are in a large group, and the place is busy, you'll be waiting a long time for your food. Fortunately, the coffee is hot, and your cup is always being filled by Mom, while Pop is busy doing what he does best. Again, I don't know how they do it, but I'm REALLY glad they do!

Great salad with each - very fresh greens with a touch of dressing - went perfectly with the crepes!!!!! I love the crepes with egg but I am super queasy about the egg being done just so - I told the waitress how I wanted the egg and she listened carefully and then repeated my description and asked if she had it right. Egg came perfectly prepared. It made the whole meal an experience as well as a perfect breakfast! 2. Waitress / Service: Just excellent We started outside and it was a tad cool so she asked if we would like to go inside - which we did. Each of the staff we came in touch with was warm, friendly, helpful. We've been to a lot of restaurants and this was just excellent. 3. Restaurant: This is a beautiful setting. Trees, flowers, tables out- side and inside; tables on the porch (with swings); clean, hats can borrow if you forget yours and the sun is bright - but you really want to be outside! 4. Prices were reasonable! You can often get l of the 4 and I sometimes get excited if I can just get two of the 4 -- but this place was the whole package - ALL 4! And if you have children, they have a playhouse - outside! Two little girls were having a grand time when we left! I highly recommend this place!
