My husband and I had breakfast here together on a day that we were both off from work. While it was not fancy, it was very affordable and tasted good. Queensview Cafe is located on the main floor of an office building. However, it's open to the public, you don't need to work in the building to access it. It is hidden away around the back of the building and is not visible from the street, so unless you're looking for it, you'll likely never just stumble upon it. Well, unless you actually work in the building or are going there for business. Anyway, y'all know I love those hidden spots! My husband had the full breakfast ($7.50) which came with 2 eggs, toast, home fries and your choice of meat (bacon, ham or sausage), and a large coffee ($2.50). I got a breakfast sandwich ($4.50). My sandwich came on a toasted English muffin and had bacon, egg and cheese in it. I forgot to say no butter on the bread, so it was generously buttered, which some may like, but I prefer my bread dry. It was too greasy for my liking, but that was on me. Otherwise, the sandwich was tasty. The bacon was crispy and the cheese was well melted. My husband liked his dish. He enjoyed the home fries which were crispy and nicely seasoned, although he noted they were a bit heavy-handed with the salt. I had a cube and I would agree. His bacon was also crispy. His eggs were over-hard like he requested. He has no complaints about his coffee. The place is very spacious and feels even bigger due to the high ceilings and tall glass windows. Very nice ambiance, especially for an office building cafeteria. It's open to the public, so you don't have to work in the building to access it (like you don't need a building pass or anything like that). Service was courteous. And when we left they thanked us for supporting their business. Their hours are limited. They aren't open weekends or evenings, so their target demographic really is the office building workers. They sell lunch as well and have items like burgers, fries, soup and sandwiches with also reasonable prices. I regret not knowing about this place when I worked in the area. My own mom would make this and she would also come here to eat! The potatoes are natural and fresh and crispy. Not at all over seasoned or oily! My salt loving husband thought it was a little bland, but I was happy that it was better for his heart! Just look at this menu! We're here in Ottawa for a tournament and decided to also order wraps to have for lunch. We haven't eaten them yet but the smell and look is amazing. This is a smaller restaurant with only one server. So don't come here if you're in a rush. But the portions are big and the food is fresh so it's worth the wait.

Both the lunch and breakfast menus were available as it was just after 11. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and my husband had the workman's plate. The chicken sandwich was very saucy (Korean chili sauce) which was a nice touch but a tad less sauce would've been good. The sandwich was yummy but not the best fried chicken I've had. The fries were yummy and plentiful. The eggs on the workman's plate were a bit over cooked as my husband had asked for over easy. But overall, he enjoyed his meal. Will be back to try more things!
