Love this place for its atmosphere, its dedication to the local music scene, and of course all of the wonderful people you will run into there. It it quite large and includes a generous outdoor area during warm weather. You can hang out in the "diner" (literally an old diner), go into the downstairs bar and play pool or listen to the jukebox, or go upstairs and hear live music. The beer selection is mediocre and the food is absolute crap, but the place has a certain charm that I can't quite put my finger on. read more

Ralph's offers a friendly, comfortable atmosphere and a variety of local music and performances. The bartenders are extremely attentive and provide wonderful service! It is amazing place to catch a good show, and I was pleased to find they offer tasty veggie burgers for those of us less inclined to eat meat. My omnivorous friends inform my that their regular burgers are delicious as well. read more

I learned how to drink at Ralph's. At first it was Bass Ale, then Guiness. It soon turned into cocktails ranging to simplicity (vodka-soda, disaronno on ice) to the not so welcomed complex ones (tequila sunrise? What was I thinking???) Needless the place is classic, and the older I get the younger the clientele is and the more welcome I feel. It's a royalty thing. read more

Best chilli and burgers around! I've been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. Drinks are strong and the bartenders friendly. Only about 4 things on the menu, (burgers, chilli, veggie burgers, and dogs now I think) but the amazing taste of food more than makes up for the small selection. I go here just about every freaking night after work... well more towards the weekends of course, thurs, fri, sat kind of deal. It is just the BEST bar in wormtown. Everyone gets along, bartenders are all uber friendly, lots of room, and you can even sit outside with your beer. They trust you to not actually cage you in. It's such a clash of the social world here. But in a good way. As people have said before, you'll see a jock talking to a buisness ma, or a nerd talking to a popular kid the punk talking to the hippie. It's like highschool, but everyone gets along, and once you step in, you're all the same anyways. This place just gets better and better every time I go. Even my parents went there when they were my age... i just gotta carry on that family legacy. :) read more

I walked in to the empty diner on a Saturday afternoon and asked the bartender a series of simple Yes or No questions - each of which he chose to answer with what he clearly thought was a clever reply instead of a Yes or a No. I was prompted by the emptiness of the bar to ask straightforward questions such as "Are you guys open?" and "Are you guys serving food right now?" Both of these were answered with snark instead of Yes. I wasn't offended by this. I was hungry enough to overlook his rudeness and not try and out-clever him. This exchange culminated in him telling me that maybe I wasn't asking the right questions. Except that when I got around to ordering a burger the bartender never asked how I wanted it cooked. I didn't point out the irony. Apparently he went ahead and assumed I wanted my patty overcooked and tasteless. I don't require bartenders to be nice to me. I don't especially care one way or the other as long as they do their jobs. I would have been fine with the place, but when I realized it was amateur hour at the griddle I decided it was a bust. Bars are only as good as their service. read more

Delicious burger, cheap drinks, mixed drinks are generously poured. Excellent bartenders in both the diner area and bar upstairs- attentive, quick, and friendly. I paid $7 to see four amazing local bands upstairs. An intimate but lively setting with a pool table, full bar, and great sound system. Went here on a Sunday night. No one except my date and I were there. Saw a rat run across the grill, no joke. Then had the good fortune of having the 50+ year old pony-tailed bartender eavesdrop on our conversation and then interject his opinion. When he wasn't busy listening to our conversation and butting in he was off in the corner taking "off the record" shots. This place is a dump and the employees are shady. Worcester's best kept secret, but at the same time known far and wide. Very cool spot to spend a night. They have awesome live music and bonus points for the pool table and layback atmosphere. I love the downstairs bar but it's rivaled by the actual diner up top. Cozy and classic, there's nothing like devouring one of their awesome cheeseburgers and a cold beer with a black and white movie playing on the TV screen. read more

This is one of the strangest and most interesting places I've come across, really made for the amateur anthropologist. A tombstone sits right in front of the building (is that really Ralph?), an unexplained electric "G" buzzes from the side of the building, and the outdoor tables can only be scrap metal from Red Foxx's junkyard. It's called a diner but there's really not much for dinner except burgers. The joint in the movie Road House was more glamorous than this; the late Eagle's Drift in SF was comparatively posh. When you go inside the diner part, there's usually a movie on, though I was a little disappointed they stopped playing VHS tapes and started using Netflix (you can get that anywhere). Bartenders are friendly but they are not going to be super nice to you unless you have something to say. The arcade games are a huge plus - glad to have a place to play Ms Pac-Man and pinball. The jukebox is stacked, but the music from the upstairs live bands has already ridden the expressway to your skull. This is all kinds of wonderful. read more

I hadn't been here in years but went back recently on a date. The atmosphere was nice, we didn't go upstairs to the club area (that part has a cover) but the entire downstairs is free now. We just saw in the diner area and order burgers and a beer. Their menu is quite limited (burger and a bag of chips) but they might have also had chili there too. We only got burgers but they were delicious. Not only were they cooked perfectly but the meat had an excellent flavor to them. The texture and taste almost seemed like a ground sirloin burger rather than normal hamburger. read more

The cheap drinks and approachable social atmosphere are great but Monday nights are time to visit Ralph's, as they play host to the Dirty Gerund, a poetry slam featuring creative and talented artists from the local community and farther afield. They're also a live music venue and serve a decent hamburger (and chili and that's it). On occasion, the drinks seem a little pricey if you order something unusual, but a handful of inexpensive beers help even it out. It's less about a giant bar selection and more about the panel of exciting events and tolerant bartenders. Plus, your friends said they were going. read more

this place is real nice for a cold beer on a summer day. you can sit outside and hang out with friends. it is a really unique bar set in a rustic location. I enjoy the beer and it is very nostalgic! read more
