Great Italian ice second to none. Just as good as there original place on Staten Island.

went for ices after dinner tonight, like I've done many times before, but this time I thought I would buy A pail/bucket (whatever it's called) to bring to my grandkids I am visiting tomorow. Bucket of rainbow water ice $22.75 no problem, but when I asked them to give me a few small paper cups they wanted to charge me .15 per cup. I'm sorry that's just wrong. I'll go buy a sleeve on my own. i know it's not a lot, but damn what kind of customer service is that! read more

I decided to come here to support local business and try their ice as a little birthday treat for myself. Luckily, this place is walking distance for me, but if you drive, there's a couple parking spaces. Ralph's itself only has one bench outside and no places to sit as it's a pick-up only shop (which is perfect for the COVID-19 situation). However, if you're with family or friends, there are available seats provided by Ocean Organics, the healthy cafe next door. After carefully reading other reviews, I took note of two very important points: * CASH ONLY! This has not changed. Unfortunately I'm the type to only carry credit card, so thankfully my boyfriend had cash and was able to pay. (I deducted a star because of this...would be nice to have more payment options like Apple Pay or credit card!) * CREME ICE IS KEY! Ralph's has a large variety of creme ice. Take advantage of what they offer by mixing it up! You can put two flavors in a small. We got a small cookies & cream and peanut butter cookie dough. Super tasty and a great combo for sure if you're into both peanut butter and cookies!! (Trust me, a small is enough to share for two people who've already eaten dinner!!) COVID-19 Note: be sure to be wearing a mask, and stand 6 ft. away from others not in your party. It does get crowded here on nice spring/summer evenings. Since this place is close by, I will be coming back to satisfy the sweet tooth every so often. They have other treats to offer: ice cream, shakes, edible cookie dough, and a ton of toppings! Being from North Newark there were two staples of Italian Ice "Ting A Ling" in Newark & Jackie's In Belleville. Nothing quite compares no matter how many places or years go by. I can say without hesitancy that they are as close to the best of yesteryear. Store front window serves while the Ice Cream which others have had is always homemade and top shelf, in my opinion the Lemon ice is what stand out. I can almost transport myself back to my childhood sitting on the porch with an Ice in my hand when I taste this, it's that good! It is better than Rita's or anything trying like heck to copy the original. It's not the original but it is dam close! read more

Ralph's is the bomb! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for my waistline) the location closest to me closed down so it's not often I get to indulge there. Recently following a gluttonous dinner at Palace Sushi my friends and I continued to make bad life decisions by going out for some dessert. Ralph's is right down the street from Palace so it was a no brainer. If you've never been here, this place is ALL ABOUT the creme ice. If the creamy deliciousness of ice cream made love to the lighter texture of Italian ice, this would be their baby. I got the carrot cake creme ice and was blown away by how much it actually tasted like carrot cake! A couple of my friends got the PB flavors which I've had before and are always delicious. Leave the east coast and you will be hard pressed to find any Italian ice at all let alone something this delicious. The flavors are on point and it tastes much more natural and less sweet than the processed stuff you'll find elsewhere (i.e. Rita's). I opted for a cream ice - always my go-to - in the refreshing mint chip that is perfect for a hot summer day. If you don't like this place, then you really don't like Italian ice. I haven't had any ice cream here but going to an Italian ice place and ordering a sundae is like going to a burger joint and ordering a salad (something I do frequently, nonetheless). Do yourself a favor and stick to what they do well and you will leave with a huge smile on your face, much like I did. PS - the place next door, Ocean Organics, is bomb and makes the perfect lunch to fill up before your delicious Ralph's ice. read more

This place is absolutely amazing!! We have been going to Rita's for years. Last week it was extremely hot and I needed a cold treat. I spontaneously stopped here and was not disappointed. The flavor choices are incredible. I opted for half chocolate and half coconut ice. One word describes it.......delicious. Went back today and got bubble gum flavor for the kids and key lime pie for my husband along with my favorite again. You will NOT be disappointed by going here!!! Gotta love Ralph's. It's a local hang-out for the area's teens during the summer. If you spend any amount of time outside at those picnic tables you will see about 5 kids you went to high school with come and go. As it is on the way to Seaside you usually get a long line of bennys during hot beach days, but its worth the wait as their creativity, flavors, and quality blow the near-by ritas (and all the little pop up Scara's over the bridge) out of the water! read more

We used to come here often but sadly the last couple of times we have noticed the flavor just isn't the same anymore. Other Ralph's have much better flavor, lower prices and more flavor options. We will have to stick with Rita's when in the Toms River area. read more

Ralph's is a staple in my summer. The creamy ice is incredible. I make it a point to try all the sugar free flavors to cut down on my sugar intake. You can't tell the difference between the sugar and sugar free! Always a small line at the window between 7 and 9pm. Enjoy! read more

I've been going here for years growing up in TR, and I have to say I am truly disappointed in what Ralph's has become. Ralph's used to have so many flavors to choose from, but going there twice the past few weeks the selection of water and cream ices are very limited in comparison to only a year or so ago. If that isn't bad enough, the prices have skyrocketed to $4.00 for a medium. I get it, it's Italian ice and they need to make some profit and afford to pay their one employee working on a Friday night, but again just a year ago with the amount of options, multiple people working, and reasonable pricing they had, the comparison to today is Day and night. I'm hoping they change come summer at least with their selections and number of staff on duty, otherwise I find it difficult for this place to be in business any longer. read more

TERRIBLE ITALIAN ICE! Go to Rita's. I went there & and one person was working the whole store. There was 4 (large) families ahead of me. After a 10 min wait & $5 later the Italian ice wasn't even good. Tastes like cheap water or sugar free. read more

My home away from home at home? Whatever- this is an outpost of the famous Staten Island Ralphs and is delicious. It's open April-Nov (why they don't stay open through Thanksgiving at least is beyond me!!) and boasts cheapy prices for the yummiest water and cream ice down the jersey shore. When I'm home for the weekend we go at least 3 times (or at least that's the goal)... yes....3x in 48 hrs... yupe. The absolute best place to go on a sunny day. I love italian ice and ice cream, but their milk-ice is the best. They have (probably) over 30 flavors of milk-ice alone. Some flavor examples are cannoli, cherry vanilla, cookies and cream, birthday cake, java chip, and my favorite, rocky road. Far better than the garbage that the other brand that relies on advertising over flavor. read more

I love Ralph's, but this location is just awful compared to the others. Overly sweet ices, and extremely limited flavors. It's literally giving the whole chain a bad name-- I thought something terrible had happened to their recipes until I stopped at another Ralph's up north and found all the flavors I love, unchanged. Skip this store and hit up another Ralph's somewhere else! read more
