This guy damaged my jacket and swore at me when I tried to stop sim It was surreal. My jacket had some small holes in it, so I brought it in hoping it could be fixed. Ralph pulled at the tears, making one noticeably bigger, at first saying he could fix it. Then he changed his mind, saying he can't fix it because it's poor quality. But he kept pulling at the tears! I asked him to please stop making the tears worse if he wasn't going to fix them. He immediately got super aggressive with me. I had taken the jacket back by now, and he tried to grab it from me, snarling "I'll fix the mother fucker." By then I just wanted to get out of there. For a moment, I thought he was going to hit me when I wouldn't give him the jacket. If he had been closer to me in age and size, I'd have been genuinely worried. Eventually he just yelled at me to get out, which I was already trying to do. As I was leaving he suddenly said "have a nice day" as if some part of his brain remembered that it's bad business to curse out one's customers. I still cannot believe this happened. I like Ralph, he's been working with leather for decades. I would highly recommend him for leather jackets. I brought Ralph an expensive cowhide jacket from Japan, he shortened the sleeves for me and did a great job. He said "this was the best I could do," but the craftsmanship was fantastic. I brought a second jacket, this one made from shearling, and he declined to work on it, since he wasn't sure he had the right set up for it in his workshop. TIP: If Ralph thinks your item is low quality- he will tell you to your face , although I came to realize what he really means it's difficult to repair in his workshop. My repair was a small job, but it received the same level of care and attention to detail I know he gives to larger more expensive projects. Ralph was extremely helpful and kind. I came to him because I purchased a pair of wedding shoes and the straps were too short for double strap but too long to be a single strap. I had brought them to a shoe repair shop prior and they had rushed it and cut them too short and the new holes they put in weren't done properly and uneven. Although Ralph told me he usually doesn't work on shoes, he was determined to do everything he could to reattach the straps with the remaining scraps and correct them to the right length. He tried a couple of different things and did everything he could dispute it being a difficult thing to fix. He is extremely knowledgeable about leather and takes pride in his craftsmanship! Ralph was able to flawlessly fabricate a custom set of replacement mats for my aircraft. I simply brought him the broken mats from my 1970 Mooney M-10 Cadet and he was able to fabricate newer stronger mats with even extra added nylon fiber to strengthen and thicken the attachment point that broke on the old ones from the factory. All of this he was able to do within 3 days and for an extremely affordable price. I was expecting to have to pay many hundreds to replace these pieces, but Ralph was extremely fair and worked with me to make exactly what I needed. I can't recommend him enough, after installing the pieces in my airplane they have held up tremendously well, look fantastic, and the precise dimensions were exact too the same manufacturer specifications as the originals. If you need small leatherwork or custom pieces, there is no one I would go to over Ralph. Just keep in mind that he's a small shop so he might not have every color of every material you need right away, but if you come prepared he can make exactly what you need. read more

this guy is a flake told me that the one hour job was to much work for him there is no parking at all he works out of a apartment that he lives in in the worst part of seattle on capital hill if he does not like what you are trying to do he will just say i do not want to do it went to a real leather worker that did car seats and tops had no problem he said the job would take one hour the old flake in seattle told me it would be to much work for him and also he told me that this is his retirment plan this guy is way out of touch with normal thinking the one hour job was to much for him to handle read more
