Ralphs tends to adjust the quality of their stores to match the affluence of the neighborhood in which they are located. This is one that Ralphs seems to have given up on without looking at the neighborhood it actually serves. I suspect they researched a radius around the store, but anyone south of the 60 Freeway is not really in the target demographic of this store despite the closeness. I sincerely wish this store was remodeled and brought up to the level of the Alhambra store. Until that time, I will drive an extra 3 miles out of my way to shop at the South Pas-adjacent and much better Ralphs where Atlantic and Garfield meet Huntington. read more

I like going to this particular ralphs because their lines go really quick. The reason why I give them five stars though is because of an employee (I believe his name is Jesus) who was kind enough to load all my groceries on the conveyor belt. I am 70 years old and have been a Ralph's customer for more than half of my life. I have been ordering cakes for almost as long. What a disappointment today when I called Ralph's bakery. The phone was answered quickly (which has not always been my experience). I told the woman that I wanted to order a cake for tomorrow. Without a second of hesitation she told me that it was "too late" to order a cake for tomorrow. I was stunned! In ALL the years that I've been a customer I have NEVER been told that before! She said 24-48 hours are required. SINCE WHEN??? AND if it's 24 hours she didn't even ask what time I needed the cake. I called at about 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 28th. I wanted a cake that they almost always have on hand. But just to be even LESS HELPFUL she told me that they don't always have that cake. No effort....and I mean NONE whatsoever was made to offer any type of service. How about checking to see if there was a mango mousse cake available that I could pick up today? NOTHING. How about asking if there was anything else with which she could help? NOTHING. I'm taking my business to Albertsons. You know what Ralph's is getting from me after this review? I really wish there could be negative stars... I very much dislike this Ralph's. I'd have to say this is the worst grocery store I had ever been to.. Terrible, Terrible customer service.. They say their lines are fast, which yes it could be true. Their "fast" means terrible manners & shitty attitude. Maybe it was just towards me being a young 22 mother, Because the woman behind me received the happy side of the cashier. Who knows, But all I know is every time I go, there is no one anywhere to help when you need something OR even know where that product is (Also superior grocery's {the really Mexican one} has way more oriental products than at freaking Ralph's) Almost every cashier I've had at Ralph's sucked... I went in there to send money through western union, Pat Caravarez told me she couldn't help me due to the fact that they didn't have a enough cashier workers until someone else comes in to help. So, another cashier came in & then I asked her if she could now help me and she told me she couldn't because someone else is leaving to lunch. Instead she told to come back And I told her I couldn't and she told me there's nothing she could do. I felt discriminated upon by this lady. She literally, made me wait 20 min to just tell me to come back some other time and she did not care that I couldn't come back later, she said there's nothing she could do about it. Like another reviewer said, this used to be a much nicer market, however, since I have been shopping here since 2000 it is really starting to go down hill and the service seems to be non-existent, except in the meat dept where they are actually pretty helpful. Parking here is really bad. I think a lot of people from the local community college park here and walk across the street. Lines are typically pretty long, because the their are usually only 2 or 3 cashiers for this huge store, and most of the time they are busy talking to each other instead of passing groceries over the scanner. On the good side, it is a large store and has a pretty good selection, and like I said earlier, the meat dept employees are good. The main reason I still continue to shop here is that it is a larger Ralphs than the one further north on Atlantic and it happens to be on the way home from work and is just down the hill from my house. However, because of the poor service and bad parking I do try to go elsewhere. read more

I come here weekly. The store is clean but their women's restrooms, always smell terrible, no matter what time you go there. (I never pass up a chance to pee!) Self check out is always open (when I'm there) and I find that the attendants at the self checks are a lot less friendly or, maybe I should say approachable. Most friendly staff are always the young baggers. They offer app coupons, but the app doesn't work on my phone. So that's kind of useless. Oh and parking sucks most of the time. Decent store but not the most friendly staff members. I like the Ralph's in Alhambra a bit better, although it's smaller. read more

I am super disgusted by the "cooked food area" of Ralph's. I had ordered scalloped potatoes and some chicken but the only problem here was that gross pound of scalloped potatoes I purchased. Well to be exact, it was more than a pound and i regret buying it all. I'm not sure if the cook changed but that potato dish makes me barf by the thought that it tasted like a 5 month frozen dinner. In fact it tasted like the Idaho "do it yourself" scalloped potatoes packet... Yuck!!! The sad thing of it all is that there was not even one SINGLE F***ING SCALLOP in there. I feel like I really got a slap in the face because Ralph's didn't have this problem before. The outside of the grocery store looks very modern and like it has been newly redone. The inside says otherwise. The store seems pretty dim, old looking in a lot of its fixtures and just a tad run down. The cashier was friendly but wasn't talking to us. She was talking to co-workers and wasn't really paying attention to us. That was rude but I guess I am just asking a lot of them, to be acknowledged and simply said "Hi." to. Whatever. I went to pick up a few last minute things for a birthday party that I was heading to. I noticed several things I was looking for was either out of stock or packages were opened and not the most desirable. I asked a few of the store's associates for some help but they either didn't come back to let me know what they'd found out or they just didn't have an answer for me really. If negative stars were possible, that's what I'd give. I visited the deli counter and there was a gentleman in front of me purchasing chicken. The attendant very kindly asked him if he wanted to pay there and he commented he had additional shopping to do. I was next and was given my order. No, she did not ask me if I wanted to pay there and when I asked to she stated I had to go to the front cashiers!!! I pointed out her assistance to the previous customer and she told me she had no working register. My disdain was so great I walked away before the words stupid b*tch rolled off my tongue. They have good customer service most of the time. When I was pregnant they would load my groceries on the conveyor belt even though I would insist it was ok. As you walk around their employees take the time to say hi. The lines usually go by pretty fast and they're likely to open another if the lines look long. read more

I understand these days are difficult times for everyone, that said, is the exact reason why i called the store last night to enquire about any change in hours for the general public and/or seniors. I called Saturday night and I was told the store opened at 6:00 a.m. for seniors. Then I asked if my daughter could go in with me to help me. The young man that answered the phone told me, "let me find out for you." He came back to the phone and informed me that the special hours for seniors was not taking place anymore, that everyone is allowed to come in at 6:00 a.m. His words were "Oh, they stopped that." I show up at just before 6:00 a.m. with my daughter. I was the 1st one in line. As I waited for them to open at 6:00 a.m., I was told at the door they don't open till 8 by another young man! When I informed him about my phone call of the night before, he said "let me ask, as I was off yesterday, so maybe things changed." Then he came back to tell me the store doesn't open until 7a.m.! I waited 1 hour and finally let in at 7a.m.. It's ridiculous that I was told on Saturday night they open at 6, and then told at the door they open at 8, only to be told again, they open at 7. Are you kidding me? There are still signs on the doors that say they open at 6:00 a.m.. I know things are constantly changing but they need to be on top of that and check all the flyers you have all over your doors and make sure they reflect the new rules!! This is my market, I love this store. But it was very frustrating as a senior for this to happen. We all have added stress these days. We don't need more. Maybe before you close each night or open each morning, have the correct signage on your doors!! And have an announcement for your employees so you can all be on the same page!! read more

Wow, this place looks great after the remodel. I used to shop here in the past when it was a dump. Hey, it was open late. Now it looks like a flagship store. 1) Nice aisles and decor. I actually want to loiter around just to see the new look. 2) Self-service registers. There are six of them so you can get in and out in a jiffy. 3) Red Boxes. There are two in case you don't have patience to wait behind that person who scrolls through the entire list of movies TWICE! But I give the guy a pass if he's on the cell phone because I know he's getting approval of the MRS. The only thing is trying to get in and out of here. It's crazy busy at this shopping center. Also, be aware of all the solicitors. Some dude just popped out of nowhere asking me if he can wash my windows for a buck. No thank you! I waited for 20 minutes to get a money order and yet I was still standing there waiting for someone to attend me and no one came to help me after I asked for help retrieving a money order. Why hire people if they going to do their job I worked in customer service for many years and if you're going to make someone wait at least acknowledge them that you will be there to help them and to thank them for the wait. The meat here is not good. I have bought pork spare ribs and had to throw them away. I bought shrimp here and they smell horrible. I habe bought ground turkey here and it smelt bad. They don't keep fresh meat here or store their meat at the right temperatures. Don't buy meat from this Ralph's. I returned the shrimp because it smelled so bad (fishy). read more

There are a few employees who are super friendly. *Clifton is one of them. He's a checkout worker and is always so so soooo friendly and asks if I need help out. *The young man who works in the meat department. He knows his cuts of meat and has helped me with salmon in terms of different ways to make it. *A manager Guadalupe is very professional in a non jerky kind of way. I've seen him deal with difficult customers and he never lost his cool or seemed rude. The parking can be annoying at times, but it is what it is. There's usually a security guard walking around the parking lot, so that's pretty awesome. I dig this Ralph's. Nice employees, decent parking and a clean store. read more

Not sure if all the employees at this location just hate their job or if they really don't know what they're doing. Specifically speaking about RANDY who is a "front end manager" or "supervisor." This lousy employee first of all didn't have his light on, on purpose so that no customers can go to his line because he's so damn lazy and doesn't want to ring. Secondly, I go to his line and he doesn't even say anything. No hi. How are you? Did you find everything ok? Nothing. This is a good Ralph's, their organic produce section is always fresh and well stocked, which is the main reason why I come here. I really like the layout of this place , I never take too long looking for something, unlike other supermarkets where everything feel like one huge labyrinth, don't even get me started on Walmart grocery section. The cashiers always seem to be in good spirits and their alcohol section is pretty good considering it's a Ralph's, not sure what else you can ask from a supermarket. read more

Horrible customer service, the cashier was impolite, rude and egotistical. Our cashier was Pat, we went to buy beer when we saw the promotion buy 2 for 11.99 each. We then proceeded to go to check out. As usual we wait in line and wait for our turn, then it is our turn and we got charge 16.99 for a case of 805 beer. We then ask the cashier, but she refuse to look at us. We proceeded to tell her about the promotion sign but instead of applying the promotion or explain to us what happened, she proceeded to took down the sign. She then refuse us service when we asked her why she did that. She responded with a rude and mean attitude. We then accept and leave the store, as we were leaving she check out a beer for guy who buy the same beer and got charged the same thing. He then complained about and without hesitant she applied the coupon for him. This is unprofessional and frankly disquieting. We then call customer which apparently tell us that there is no manager or supervisor we can't talk to at the moment. I totally respect that, the person that I spoke to over the phone was super nice and informative. Thank you all for listening to my complaint. I love Ralph, but with the customer service like tonight, I doubt that I will return to Ralph anytime soon. read more
