RACIST: did the online curbside pickup and got the notification it was ready for pick up. i arrived at the beginning of my pick up time, parked, and called? they said they'll be out shortly. 15 minutes later they said my order wasn't ready, so I'll have to come back later. i asked when it would be ready, they said they don't know. i asked if i should call later or if I'll get a phone call, they said they don't know. i figured I'd call later, so i drove home - which was a 20 minute commute each way. an hour later at home, i get a call saying they can't fill my order and that Ralph's was closing soon. mind you this is 6pm. i was a little bit shocked so i asked the girl again if that's correct. she said yeah. i pointed out the store hours listed said they'll be closing at midnight. she said "well the person who does the orders is leaving soon, so you'll have to pick up tomorrow." i asked how does the process work and she said to call tomorrow. i tried following up to see when i should come and is there a certain time or frankly if my order would be carried over. she said to call the store tomorrow. i got the hint "my kind" wasn't welcomed, so i decide to get off the phone and call customer service. i called customer service and i was connected to a lady that sounded like she was from the Midwest. pointed out to her my order number and email address. she asked to verify the name on the account, but i guess i had somehow the wrong name listed. she started accusing me of this not being my account, i didn't know my email address, name and she refused to accept any guesses (i use abbreviated forms of my name to avoid discrimination). i explained to her i had ordered several times online and i am looking at the order confirmation through my personal email. she suggested that i wasn't and that this clearly wasn't my account. i asked if i could be transferred to technical support to fix my account information and she hung up on me. i called again and this time, i got a minority on the phone and my issue was resolved quickly. basically i needed to call the store to cancel my order. i called the store and somehow was connected to somebody else from a different department (this is all within 20 minutes of the store telling me to call tomorrow). he said my order was practically done and i could pick it up. i politely declined and i explained my earlier experience of being told to basically come back another day. if you guys have a chance, support your local minority market. it's 2020 and it's just sad that racism is so virulent in our society and denying minorities basic needs of being able to buy groceries. read more

This Ralph's and it's employees are handling the pandemic and customers completely wrong. Complete mistreatment of customers and inconsideration from the management level. LILY a cashier yelled "Get a Job" at a customer after she denied them a sale for an expired license due to DMV closures during a pandemic. The Manager laughed when so. There is absolutely no reason to attack customers at a personal level like that. (How would she know someone's job status? And even more hurtful to know people have actually lost their job during this pandemic.) Excellent customer service on the curbside pick orders!! Me and my family have been shopping at this location for about a year now and with the pandemic happening currently curbside pick up was our next alternative. I must say our experience with their staff has been superb , extremely helpful and informative when it comes to any items that may not be in stock . There have been a couple of times when something was out of stock - when I wanted frozen corn or a frozen blend of bell peppers and onions - but they usually substitute it .Then when I arrive at the store, I tell them which space I'm parked at. An employee tells me about any substitutions or out of stock items, they load the car and I'm done!. They make grocery shopping so EASY ! From the cashiers , to baggers, to curbside employees. They are all very respectful, friendly and welcoming. Management communicates efficiently when my order may be delayed . I love that aspect of things . I would highly recommend curbside pick to the public if you are in need of groceries for the week or last-minute dinner plans . From my personal experience every visit has been handled in a timely manner . I would also like to add that they have done modifications to accommodate the public through this pandemic. They enforce wearing a mask and for me and my family that brought us a sense of safety and comfort . The store is always neat, organized and the staff is always willing to help . I would recommend this location to anyone and especially the curbside pick up . If you are a busy individual like myself who doesn't always have Time to walk around the grocery store. Just walked in through the front door and requested some paper napkins and Sanitation solution to wipe my cart down Since I had my kids with me and luckily this lovely kind and super helpful woman name Jake was so helpful and immediate to take action to please my need. And she went as far as walking outside with me to grab the solution for me. after that my son had a small blister in his stoe so I asked her if it was too much to ask for a Courtesy Band aid and she again Went as far as checking in several cashier stations for one I'm just really glad there's people like her in this world That even though we're in this pandemic she makes you feel so safe. This review is specifically for the Key Me (kiosk for key maker) inside of Ralph's. It was super convenient and I was already in the area, so decided to follow the quick directions and pay $4 instead of driving further to Lowe's or Home Depot. I noticed off the bat that the key was printed backwards and all the grooves were extremely cut sharp! I was hesitant but decided to try unlocking my door anyways. It didn't even budge ... The customer service was prompt and offered to credit or refund, so I really appreciate that. I think this could be an efficient tool, but they really need to make updates. read more

The feeling of wanting to take a shower after shopping here was undeniable. Absolutely disgusting. I try not to be a stickler but my experience today at Ralph's was beyond unacceptable. With the current COVID climate, this place was the Wild Wild West with few precautions in place. For starters, no shopping carts, no sanitary cloths to wipe down a cart if you found one. No one was monitoring the entrance/exit and people were literally on top of one another inside the store. The self serve station upon checkout was FILTHY! And there were no wipes or anyone manning the station to clean after customers. Honestly, I was cringing and holding my breathe the entire time. I honestly should have listened to my better judgement and just left, but I needed to get some essentials. If you must shop here, be cautious, wear your mask and bring your own sani-wipes! read more

No issues with the market...shop here weekly. But the bakery... I ordered my cake for 10am but called earlier to see if it happened to be ready since I was in the neighborhood. I was told it was ordered for 10:30am (even though I had the email confirmation with 10am) and they had a lot of cake orders so it was not ready. No problem. I can pick it up 30 min after I ordered it to be ready. When I got there to pick it up it sure did look like they had a lot of cakes to make and were in a hurry to get them out! We've picked up cakes last minute for birthdays and the cakes are yummy so we decided to pre-order our child's birthday cake since they give you options for colors and flavors. The cake itself tasted good. But why give us options if you aren't going to give us the colors we ordered. Not happy with the hideous torpedo balloons and the writing on the cake looks like my child wrote it while practicing cursive. If you're going for taste, tastes great. But maybe get a plain cake unless you like these "balloons" and scribble on your cakes. And why the ".." after his name...were they thinking of something else to write?? read more

Updated review based on the actions of management. I had an item missed during bagging at checkout last Friday. This was surprising since I had 3 items total. I did speak with them about it via telephone that day and went back today. Without much of a mention outside sarcastic comments, Aileen recognized who I was and provided a refund. Although it sounds like there was a discussion of what happened based on my telephone conversation and maybe a note under my card, it was very on point to recall the situation and provide the resolution almost a week later which was a refund. Came in for flowers early morning... the arrangement I wanted was $40 the flowers looked sooooo DEAD!!!! Manager told me they were fine.... I was so disappointed...I went to the Ralph down the street and I found the same arrangement for $29.99 Amazing service. I will never come back to this Ralph. This place is clean, stocked with products and smiles! There are employees available to help you out. The lines are short too. Don't have a bag and you have a few items? They aren't going to hound you about 10 cents for the bags. The parking can blow at times because it's a very busy shopping center. But even with the bad parking I like it here! read more

I love this Ralphs I always come here. Today I was in line and with this pandemic going on there are signs on the floor letting customers know where they are supposed to wait. Well this customer behind me was about a foot away from me (way to close for comfort) I'm pregnant and had my daughter with me. I kept looking back at the man making it obvious he was way to close. The cashier saw and said nothing, this was in lane one at 6pm. The cashier was nice my issue is that Ralph's should reinforce there employees to keep an eye out for this and step in and remind customers where they are supposed to stand (6feet away). This is probably the nicest market I've ever been to. I come regularly and the employees are very attentive and pleasant. They carry Coffee Bean coffee and I stop by the deli for some in the mornings. The ladies there are solid ready to help in that department. I used to shop here regularly and looked forward to seeing what was in store after renovations were completed. Come to find out prices have skyrocketed, many of the items I've purchased are stale or expired despite having a future expiration date, and lines are longer than ever. They've also added security guards who troll shoppers, forcing me to complete my shopping trip as fast as possible. I'm taking my weekly shopping budget to Albertsons just a few blocks up, or Vons in Mtb. Don't mind driving a couple extra miles for improved quality and comparable prices. read more

Terrific store. Very friendly and courteous staff. Great attitudes! Always helpful and have smiles on their faces. You can tell they like their jobs. The store was recently remodeled although it looked fine before. Everything is clean and in 100% working order. This is a credit to the store management. It shows everyone who works there takes pride in what they do. I would be remiss if I did not mention the fresh sushi ! Delicious and made fresh daily. I am a regular of this Ralph's store on Atlantic but lately it seems they have lost the quality of service I was used too. I understand these are difficult times for employees and trying to stay healthy is a main concern but besides the long lines and less open registers, the store just feels less concerned for its customers. I just can't explain it but the store has changed and not for the better. I was in the store on 1/17/22 and asked the cashier, "Marta", that I would like to put in an order for a item they were out of. She had me write all my information down on a piece of paper. I included my name, cell, the products name, price, UPC code and she told me she'd give it to the manager to order. On 1/19/22 I called the store and asked for the manager. The person who answered to me she did not know anything about any special order and to call the "night manager, Marco". And he works the night shift so I have to call him before he leaves at 8:30 am. I was in the store on 1/21/22 and asked the cashier if "Marco" worked that coming night, she said "I thinks so, just call him". Sat. morning I called at 8:20 a.m. and was told his wasn't in that day. I emailed Ralph's customer service, explained my issue and the return email told me, "sorry were very busy, here's $10.00 credit on your Ralph's account and nothing about why I emailed them in the first place. I've put in an order for this certain item many times before and always got my order in a couple of days. I am very disappointed with this store and will try going to the Ralph's in So. Pasadena and maybe their manager can get me what I want. But like I said, sadly the customer service in this store has changed. read more

Ran through the store rushing to pick some stuff up. Got into line and the cash register broke. I was nice about it and waited for it to reboot. The cashier decided to help other customers in another lane. I stood there as people were leaving. Then I told the cashier I was in a rush. They made me line up again to make the same purchase. Now I am in the back of the line again with 2 customers ahead of me and having to repurchase the same items. I didn't want to create a scene, so I held it in. Next thing I know, I am crying. I have been shopping off and on for many years at Ralph's in Monterey Park (330 N. Atlantic Blvd.) and it seems to be going downhill. Last week there were no check stands open (no checkers) so I had to use the self checkout. It was a major inconvenience because I had coupons plus a bottle of wine. (Alcohol cannot be purchased at self checkout.) I had to wait until an "associate" assisted me and she was not in a good mood. What a pain! Matt saw this Ralph's when he drove by here to get his hotel. Matt needs to get some toiletries and MAN items. Certain things he needs to get, because with the heightening alert on airplanes, he needs to get the neccessities in LA This Ralph's is the same supermarket as SF's Cala Foods. Matt was very fortunate that he brought this card here, in fact that is the ONLY supermarket card he brought with him. This Ralph's does not close, so Matt can sleepwalk to this Ralph's in the middle of the night. Matt bought a couple of toiletries and more snacks. I come here specifically for their fried fish, it is consistently good and affordable. Their cornmeal tilapia is lean and delicous; you can make a fish taco, sandwich, or eat it plain. The guys over in the seafood department are courteous, generous, and very kind. read more

More like negative 5 stars, for customer service out of all people the manager was the worst. Price labels in wrong place and manager wouldn't honor the price lable. Called it a customers fault when clearly they are stocked nice and neat in multiples under a price tag where they shouldn't have been stocked.They did a price check and then took the label off and denied sale for that price. What was the point of a price check??? All I wanted was to buy pampers for my baby but instead I was being argued with at the registered by the manager in front of everyone how unprofessional for a fucking grown ass woman with the title of a manager position. Complained to store manager and got my 2 boxes of pampers for 25 bucks each. I came here after midnight thanks to the guy right across from this plaza, from the gas station to be more exact. I come to the college near by and never knew they were open till that late. In fact, I had never been to this specific Raphls. The other night I was craving a chocolate milkshake and I needed bananas and we were out, I went hunting for bananas to food for less (they were too green), gas stations, CVS (no fruit) and ended up here. The store was slow and the service was efficient. I got what I needed and went home really happy to make my milkshake just to find out there was no milk. Haha just kidding.
