They are doing their remodeling now. Closing time is at 10pm, you show up at 9:40 they basically don't allow you to go in and shop. All I wanted was some tea and a lemon because I am sick. If you don't want people to come into the store at 9:30 then change your closing time. This is my second time here and both experiences have been great ones. Located in such a convenient area and with a huge parking lot, it's my go to. The staff are so helpful, always offering their help in different sections of the store, good deals on fresh vegetables and fruits. Everything that I needed was always fully stocked, lots to choose from in the seafood section as well so thats a plus. They offer plastic bags here but was informed today that starting tomorrow there won't be anymore, which is fine by me, so bring your own bags friends! read more

They recently renovated this location and moved everything around. The aisles are all jumbled than what I am normally used to but, you can still find things. I like this ralphs, cause the workers are super friendly and nice. Always willng to help and now that its all fresh and so clean clean, it's nicer to walk around and browse. I think they are trying compete with the asian markets too cause they have a aisle for asian food instead ethnic foods. LOL I thought that was pretty interesting. Store was clean but do not go to the deli during your lunch break. There is only one person assigned and wait time can be 15-20 minutes to be served. I also don't sense that there is much team work at this store because many employees, including managers walked right by when people were waiting at the deli counter without stopping to help or call for assistance. Their BBQ chicken is good but if in a hurry, would recommend Albertsons on Fremont / Commonwealth in Alhambra; better staffed with as good of a deli. read more

This is a Ralph's, so there isn't too much to say about it. This Ralph's is unique because since it's in Monterey Park, there are a lot of people who shop here who do not understand the concept of lines. I've been cut in front of three times for no reason whatsoever. So beware. But the best thing is that they have self checkout stations so you can easily bypass the long lines. Walked in around 10:30 for a few items as soon as Iam in I see no baskets around. I then proceed to buy some beer and as Iam paying the cashier says today it expired I can't use. He has the guts to say I "should carry a passport around" I reply as if everyone carries a passport around everywhere they go. I took it as racist comment cause Iam brown skinned. I like to shop at this Ralph's. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great service, however, they shouldn't let people bring their dogs or any other pets in the store. I understand if the dogs were service dogs, I have respect for them. But the ones you see here are not definitely service dogs. I don't want any germs or hair on my food. This review is for the hot chicken wings in the deli section. Both flavors, original & spicy were yummy, they taste similar to the ones from Kentucky. I like them more than Albertsons's, which are really good already, except a little bit on the salty side. The wings here are $6.99/lb regular price, but every few weeks they would be on sale for $1/lb off. Today it is on sale for $5.99/lb. By default, both parts of the wings (flats & drums) are mixed, however, you can request for either the flats or the drums. They stop making them by 7 pm, but as long as you call in and order before that time, they will make them for pick up. The wings inside the glass display are usually overly dry and kind of hard because they are normally fried for 8 minutes long. Today I requested for a shorter frying time of 5 minutes instead and my wings came out deliciously juicy, moist, and crispy! You don't need to go to any expensive eat-out for yummy wings, just grab them from the deli section of any nearby Ralphs. Service is hit or miss. Today is a homerun because I ran into 2 very nice Ralphs employees. I called 6 times but couldn't get through to the Deli. I decided to call the Bakery section instead, and luckily I got Marcella on the phone. She went out of her way to get Emily from the Deli to help me take the order. The grocery store is really nice and clean inside. Aisles always seem stocked even with all the traffic that goes on inside. On this day (a Tuesday night), I arrived at the parking lot where it was roughly 90% full. I was able to go get a parking spot immediately that was close to the store (lucky!). There are a lot of people crossing the parking lot, mainly due to the many different stores that surround Ralph's. There's an Asian strip mall across the street, a Ranch 99 market across the parking lot, and food trucks right in front of the market itself. Parking lots are big and spacious (more than the average Greater Los Angeles parking spot). The staff here is friendly. A few individuals/employees actually stopped to see if I needed help. It was probably because I was on my phone trying to download the mobile app so that I can get the max discounts on many of the products. The good thing about Ralph's, Kroger, and their family of markets is that they offer a ton of specials. So before you roll into these markets, make sure you have a card that's good to go. You can download the app on iOS and I was able to save roughly 40% off my bill. Last time I was in a Ralph's we didn't have a card, but the cashier was kind enough to scan theirs - allowing us to save roughly 30%. With grocery stores, I mainly value 3 things: stock quantities, cleanliness and cashiers per customer. On this day, almost every aisle was filled with cashiers, thus allowing customers to not have to wait so long. Express lanes (15 items or less) were open too. I took advantage of this and was able to be helped immediately. In the end, the lady and I are big fans of the Grove Farmer's market and Trader Joe's. We'll add Ralph's as one that can fit into our rotation. read more

I've always known Ralphs as a place where I can pick lunch from a buffet-style selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, and cooked dishes, and quickly pay for it at the self-checkout or a cashier, whichever is less congested. Not at this location. Stopped by before my first day of work in this area for a quick snack-- it was anything BUT quick. I was shocked and disappointed to see that there are no self-checkouts. There was only ONE cashier, and a man who bought the whole store beat me to it. Sigh. I realized that after coming this far, I should wait, so I waited. Strike one, but bearable. Any store can have a bad day. I came for lunch again, looking forward to a soup and something from the salad bar that I'm used to at other locations. There was NO salad bar, and the soup pots were almost empty. Lack of upkeep--at the other Ralphs locations, they ALWAYS make sure to keep their soups fresh, and refill them right away when they run out. Strike two. The above two experiences were just in one day. Any company can have a bad day, so today I decided to give them another chance. Stopped by in the morning again to grab something quick before work. There were NO cashiers. There was one register with the light on, so I lined up even though it was empty. Two cashiers came out. I understand they probably don't get enough customers to have the amenities of the other locations. But I wonder-- do they NOT have more cashiers and self-checkouts because there are no customers-- or are there no customers because it takes forever to process a transaction? I would be willing to deal with this if they had a good salad and soup bar like at the Ralphs locations in Downtown L.A. and the one close to LACMA. But not to get the same stuff I can get at the 7-11 across the street much quicker and cheaper. read more

On-sale deals often don't show up when you try to check out. You should always use self-check out and make sure deals (like 2 for $5) appear on screen. Great place to shop if all your local stores are closed by 10pm. The parking lot is huge and very spacious, so you'll never have an issue finding parking at night. I know they do share parking with Bank of America next door, so daytime could be hectic. Prices does not beat Walmart, but their hours of operations does. Great for last minute shopping and at least the store is well organized. Checking out was a breeze, and I do hope they start using self checkout to kill the lines. read more

Although this Ralphs is in a pretty convenient location if you want to buy some snacks before going to the movies at the AMC two blocks away, it is incredibly basic. You've got your produce, juice, deli section, bakery, and meats, but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the selection. For example, at other grocery stores you can find a huge selection of pre-marinated meats (perfect for BBQing if you don't want to do it yourself), but there were none to be found here. When I checked out the juices (both refrigerated and non-refrigerated), there were only a few shelves to choose from. This Ralphs is honestly a life saver! Stays open late hours and have always had everything I need in stock. On top of that, they have plenty of parking well around the building. To the right, they have a BoA and every night they have loads of food trucks that park right in front of Atlantic which attracts a lot of customers. Service is ok, which is pretty much like very other Ralphs, but what makes this one below average is that they never seem to have a full selection of items that the other Ralphs which is a mile down the street has. I was around the area yesterday for my volunteer work day. At noon time, I dropped by this store to do grocery shopping. I surprisingly found out the food section had sushi deals for $5.99, and it's very good quality (as good as those Japanese restaurant ones!!). I wish there are more Ralph stores provide same sushi deals, so customers aren't limited to only fried food, chicken wraps and crab salads choices. read more
