Ok good place to go fast and stocked I will always go to my local Ralph's for convenience

I have been getting my prescriptions at this Ralph's location for years and they have always been great. I don't know what's happened in the last year but getting my prescriptions in a timely manner has been painful. I shouldn't have to wait five days to get my run of the mill prescriptions filled. I certainly do not blame the pharmacists but I do blame whoever is running the show. Even when my work was no longer in the area, I kept my business there. Sadly, that will probably be changing. read more

DO NOT DO ONLINE ORDER PICK UP. They make it so difficult to refund missing items that you will just give up. We did an order pick-up on Monday. When my girlfriend got home she realized they didn't give us over half our order. We've called the store 3 days in a row and they keep giving us the run around. She finally got the manager on the phone he refused to help, saying that it had to be taken care of by customer service. Of course customer service is outsourced, so she has to go line by line on our order with someone who doesn't speak English well. This person told us she is reprimanded if she refunds our entire order. What a messed up system to potentially fire someone for actually helping a customer. Thankfully we paid with credit so we will do a transaction dispute. This store is losing probably ~$3k in annual sales from us over something that should be handled in 5 minutes. I don't think they pay anyone enough here to care about their job including management. That's too bad, we'll shop elsewhere. read more

I'd say avoid this location if possible. Employees here have an unnecessary level of attitude, even when asked simple questions such as item location etc. Julissa (one of the managers) being the worst. Extremely unprofessional and condescending. Having worked retail, I know dealing with people can be difficult at times. But bad manners are uncalled for, and only make the job harder. read more

"Keep your high standards. Lower your expectations. You'll be happier." That's what my friends always say. Sorry buds, no can do. In my mind's eye, standards and expectations are inextricably intertwined. So is how and where I spend money! In between appointments, a morning of providing quality service to my clients, it would have been nice to receive just a bit in return, even in a self-serve, grocery store. I combed the aisles for my fave vanilla Atkins shake to no avail. A produce guy said he thought it was shelved on Aisle 17 or 18. Already been there, no Atkins anything. My mistake for asking a produce specialist! Cross-training anyone? Customer service desk was un-staffed. Clock ticking, I headed to the check out. Asked my cashier if they still carried Atkins. "Oh, yes! It was moved to Aisle 2." I was about to spend over $100 and not even a, "Would you like us to get some product for you?" Nope. Just a, "Sorry about that. Will you need help out?" If my time hadn't been of the essence I could have forced the issue but the bagger stood there chomping at the bit for a break and I feared he would have gone missing trying to find Aisle 2. Hm, the unemployment rate is... P.S. Have had my share of grunt jobs; they formed my standards, the quality service I provide today, everyday! read more

They've made improvements to the soup, salad and sushi station. The soups are mostly stocked, they offer organic items and more selections at the salad station and the sushi station has higher quality items. As for the deli section - this is one of their busiest sections and they have changed their combo deals. Be sure to grab a ticket first, they will call your number and then you can place your order. There's also a noticeable difference in the level of customer services which makes it even more enjoyable to shop here! I also like their floral section! They get new plants for every new occasion. For example, they just received the 4th of July decorated plants today! This location seems to have plenty of fresh flowers and plants to choose from. The last few times that I've purchased flowers or plants here, I was helped by Lorena and she has always been very helpful. I've used their catering department a handful of times now for deli platters and I've been very pleased. The food is always fresh and really good quality and the portions are quite ample. You can't beat the price point! It's extremely affordable and as much as I use caterers for luncheons and other events, this matters to my budget. The staff here is wonderfully sweet and accommodating. They are super quick too! I goofed and put the wrong date on an order and when I went to pick it up, it obviously hadn't been prepared yet. Not to worry, 30 minutes later they had created a platter of 15 assorted sandwiches and two salads. The store itself is very nice. Always clean with helpful people and checking out is a breeze. Parking isn't an issue here with above and below ground parking. read more

Shopping here truly was a pleasure, as Yelper Juli D. said. Got here after 10 p.m., on a Sunday evening. Plenty of parking spaces and no construction going on. In the front, a dusty patio table for sale. Labeled $299, padded chairs included, it held no appeal. Did not check to see if the other "metal picnic tables" outside for patrons were dust free. Very nice selection of produce and the prices were less than at the Santa Monica Coop. Earlier in the evening there, paid $1.19 per pound for jicama. A whopping 79 cents per pound here. The organic kale, organic blackberries & blueberries were at least $1.00 cheaper too. Saved a bundle on items normally bought elsewhere. Now with the money saved, ha ha, got into some mischief. Breezed through the store's seasonal aisle. Browsed around and found golden eggs! Ok, they were fake, but looked real and would likely be a hit at upcoming Easter parties and more. They appeared to open and close just like those regular and iridescent colored plastic eggs. I intend to stuff surprises into them. Even send one off to Hawaii where my mom is now. Going to give one to a friend who is a "goldigger". Found a touching Easter card for my dad that said "Easter eggs may come by the dozen...but dads like you are one in a million. Love you Happy Easter". The bonuses were the floral and candy scented, bunny and chick stickers, stocked in the card section. Those scratch and sniff stickers what a find! Walked right up to the cashier with no one else in line. He was most courteous and helpful. Oh there was 1 other guy before me, but he said "go ahead" as he only had 1 item and raced back to get something else. Hippity hop hopped out of there in merry spirits. read more

I love my neighborhood Ralph's! Fully equipped with a Coffee Bean, deli, salad and olive bar, sushi station, bakery, sandwich shop and rotisserie station (known as 'the bistro'), what more could you ask for in a grocery store? What I really love about this location is the great service. All of the employees here are friendly and warm, hard to find in all chain stores. The Coffee Bean lady will offer to ring up the groceries I'm holding, the coupon passer-outer will lead me to my favorite cookies, and the cashiers are super friendly each time. A special shout out to the produce specialist who was re-stocking garlic when I needed a few. He spent so much time and concentration picking out the very best ones for me. He's also helped me dig around for freckly bananas when I wanted to make banana bread. He's amazing! Although I do the bulk of my grocery shopping at TJs, there are some times when you just need to go to Ralph's. (Kraft mac and cheese is a good reason.) I've always found great club card deals, lots of selection and fantastic service. read more

I was here the other day getting a banana and I walked by the raspberry section and witnessed a man opening the raspberry cartons taking out a raspberry feeling it with his fingers smelling it and then putting it back in the package and putting it back in the selection. I mentioned this to the manager Patricia and to the security guard and pointed the gentleman out to both of them and neither one of them did anything. Apparently it's OK to smell and fondle the raspberries and then put them back in this location of RALPHS. Disgusting! read more

This place is okay (3 stars) but what made me brought it down to 2 stars is solely based upon service which I will go into a little more detail below... Yeah, maybe the Ralph's at this location might have more options compared to other Ralphs, but it was painstakingly awful waiting for a sandwich to be made. I wanted to get one of the sandwiches at Boar's Head. As I stood there waiting for someone to help me out, I thought I'd ask the bakery department if someone could help me after standing around for 10-12 minutes? Someone from the bakery department told me to just stand there and someone should come in just a moment. Stood there again for another 5 minutes and saw someone coming and thought, "Oh, this might be my sandwich maker..." but I was wrong. Later I found out from another customer that you have to take a number from the ticket dispenser so I had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes just to get service. Good God it took 30 minutes... This review is for the manager Melanie S. (07/17/2020, at 6:58am). I saw postings indicating that state law prevents the purchase of alcohol through self-checkout. When I was ready to check out, the only available registers were at self-check out. I asked the cashier overlooking the self-checkout registers if a register was available for alcohol purchases, and she paged the manager. When the manager, Melanie approached me, I explained to her that I had an alcohol purchase and she looked at me like I was causing an inconvenience for her. I can tell by her demeanor and body language that she was not interested in assisting me. I explained to her that that is how I understood the rule, however, she made me feel as though asking her if a register was available for alcohol purchases was a grave inconvenience. She grabbed my cart and rang me up at register 7. She was going so fast at ringing my groceries up that I couldn't put my groceries on the belt fast enough. As she was ringing up my groceries, she threw my groceries, which included many food items, to the side as if they were trash. This is the food I was going to feed my children and she was treating it as if customers buying groceries at her store did not keep her employed as an essential employee. When I showed her my ID as requested, she told me to take it out the wallet with little manners, then scanned it. I felt that that was an unusual request giving that it was unnecessary, especially during the COVID pandemic. I have been shopping at this Ralph's since 2002 and cashier have always typed my birthday in. However, by scanning my ID, she made it seem like she was going to do her best to inconvenience me as much as she has been inconvenienced. When she was done ringing my groceries up, she asked if I needed help bagging my groceries. I politely declined. I didn't want my food to be banged up anymore then they already are. How she treated me by throwing my groceries and presenting such a negative attitude was unwarranted. What she was asked to do was not a personal attack on her. She was asked to perform a task well within her capacity and for good reason. If the rules have changed in regards to alcohol purchase in self-check out, all she had to do was politely inform me of the rule. read more

An OK location with sort of tricky parking - there is a garage underneath the store. Good selection though the store is a bit on the small side. Store feels very clean and fresh. I just had to dash in for one item before a meeting, but found the staff friendly and the store well organized. Another Ralph's winner... and another example of why I believe Ralph's is the best grocery chain in SoCal. read more

Haha! I come here whenever I am at my friend's in Santa Monica. He only seems to shop at Ralphs :/ I don't mind Ralphs, I actually think Ralphs is cool! I will give it 5 stars just because I don't hold any grudges against this place:) OMGSH! I will mention... how I was feeling a bit strange one day... and we parked downstairs because my friend likes to go through the elevators.. So I like going through the parking lot spaces (I didn't know there was one of those cement blockers in front of the parking space) AND i totally! ran over the cement... my POOR car.. I was like OH NO! I paused in between the cement blocker... and I was like "Do I HAVE to... go pass it?" Yep, I'm reviewing a Ralphs. I go out of my way to come to this location even though there is a Pavilion's and Vons within walking distance. I think I became hooked on Ralphs since my Studio City days. And yes, I'm one of those freaks; my favorite time to go is the late night. This Ralphs in particular carries 99% of the items that I shop for, and them some which is saying a lot. I always leave with something more than I should. I'm writing this mainly since I have to give credit to a great employee named Marcy. I get these coupons through the mail and I keep having issues with one item that won't scan. Not only did she make the effort to see the product scanned though, she even walked me herself throughout the store finding the stuff I was too stupid to find (or too short to reach). She was fantastic, going way beyond her means to help. When I thanked her after I checked out, I wasn't trying to stare at her chest, but that is where her name tag was since I wanted to get the name right. Thanks Ms. Marcy! read more

I visited this particular Ralph's every two weeks to buy groceries. I dont complain but I feel like I should say something about the Hispanic lady in the kitchen she is very very rude. There instead that I walk into the store to purchase food at the food counter twice she have just walked away and left me standing at the counter. But times I walked away to go get my other items that I am going to purchase. Then I went back to go and make an order for chicken she turned her back and walked in the back . My husband came to get sandwiches on Saturday she gave him sandwiches where the bread was stale and old. If she doesn't not want to help African American person why is she working with the public. When you approach the counter she looks and turn away. And these are the type people you guys hire to deal with your customers. I am so sad that people bring their beliefs into their work place. This review is based on a terrible order pick-up experience I had today: This message was sent to the manager, Shelley Guzman, via feedback. I want to be sure she sees it so I'm posting it here: TO SHELLEY GUZMAN: I understand that things are stressful now, however, I was mistreated by Emilio in the Order Pickup department today and it was inexcusable. I drove far to pick my order up. I had purchased 68 items. He came out with just 2 items. I told him I had 68 items. Emilio would not listen to me. I called and he kept slamming the phone down on me, he refused to take 5 seconds to check on my order. I called to speak to a manager and after almost 2 HOURS of waiting, finally, someone was able to go and find out what happened. When I had tried to modify my order with 2 items, I had accidentally created a 2nd order. I knew this because I had TWO texts to pick up TWO orders today, one at 9am and one at 11am. A manager, maybe it was you! went to that department and found my order. It had been sitting there, ready to pick up the entire time! Amelio tried to save face by saying it was "under 2 different names" but in fact, I had ONLY given him my last name and he didn't bother to check. SO even if one order was under my first name and the other was under my husband's first name, the last name was the SAME and I had only given Emilio our LAST NAME. All Emilio had to do was check under the last name. He didn't even apologize for making me wait nearly 2 hours and slamming the phone down on me and refusing to even take a moment to check on this! When I told him I have two texts saying to pick up 2 different orders, he said he DIDN"T CARE and slammed the phone down on me. Even if an employee is stressed, there is no excuse for this rudeness. I will be placing my pick up orders at a different location so that I don't have to encounter Emilio ever again. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I came into Ralph's yesterday and was assisted by Manager Melanie, she rings me through Quickly since I'm always in a rush. When I'm at the store I know that Melanie and Genovbia are the go to cashiers since they know exactly what they are doing. Not once have I ever had any issues with them and they are quick and to the point. read more

For a Ralphs, its really huge, clean, and well maintained, it looks almost new. Aisles are wide, great product selection, great deli area, helpful and plentiful staff, not bad! I came for some deli meats as a snack. They don't carry konbucha though, bummer. I don't know if they have additional parking below or elsewhere. They have a lot but it's not as big for what the store size is. Inside is also a Starbucks. read more

Its a Ralphs Fresh Fare, so it's a more upscale fancy ralphs with like wood panels and softer lighting. Staff seemed nice and knowledgeable, the groceries are at the expected prices for the most part. I find that their beer selection is decent if overpriced, same as their liquor. That is unless you're buying in bulk and get 6 bottles or packs then it's a pretty good deal. Pros:........$7.99 pineapple upsidedown cake. They got some fancy cakes in their bakery! Cons: nothing really it's your average grocery on the westside. read more

There's a pharmacist named Rebina (I believe that's the spelling) who went above and beyond to help me with vaccinations. I have been doing pick up at Ralphs since the start of Covid and it was great. If they were running late they would call you. I pick up every two weeks my last four pick ups have been increasingly worse, I have trie different dates and time to no avail. Pick Up today was between 11=12, I arrived at 11;45. Again an apology short staffed. Twenty minute wait for my order that turned into an hour. No one else was there for pick up. When I ask the person taking care of me, why he said it would take 20 minutes and it took and hour, he said you asked how long the wait was and I answered you......must have failed math besides customer service too. When you can not get your receipt on paper or on line......hummmm what is going maybe it will show up later. Really was so pleased in the beginning but today I was told the pick up mgr. and employees quite two weeks ago, well what about the past six weeks? I have seen people get angry and leave. Is it either time to look for another market or we have to deal with continual new hires and problems. Should we take their p u number, say we have arrived and then drive to the market so we do not sit in the garage with b.s. stories for an hour. I called the manager today with my complaint, then transfferred five time to try to find out what was billed to my cc. A head cashier was the last person to take the call, had the story 100 percent wrong and admonished me for yelling when there was so much static on the store phones, she was hard to get thru to, voice raised. Yes, we understand about Covid, when I have received calls to pick up later I graciously agreed to do so but the lame pick up people do not even make those calls anymore ! Good management would get to the bottom line of the pick up problems and smart mouths that have been hired. One time the guy told me to cancel my order and start over again and walked to another car. That person got made at him and left. Their attitude towards customers screams loudly they are not going anywhere in life. Beginning people were great and even had to beg a couple of times for them to accept a tip. Very disappointing....is Ralphs torquing people off and trying to make them go to a delivery service...never have seen customer service like this in my life. It is not Covid, it is attitudes. While a bit out of my way, Ralph's may very well be the best grocery store in Santa Monica. You may pay a bit more but the staff is friendly, the selection is awesome and there seems to be less hobos flinging snot on you compared to other Santa Monica super markets. The pharmacists here are super nice and helpful! I originally came here because Ralph's has a $4 generic prescription program (without any extra membership), which is cheaper than most insurance copays. I'm glad I came, because the pharmacists are so friendly. They also have a super fancy new-age blood pressure / weight / body fat machine that you can use (play with) for free while you wait. My only problem with this Ralphs is that despite having been here multiple times, I still sometimes drive by it. It's hidden! read more

I see some reviews here that just seem to be nitpicking. The bottom line for me is the store is big, with lots of items I couldn't find at the Ralphs in Venice, so I switched to this closer store to me. The store is clean and in every section, I have had people go out of their way to help me find items. The checkout is reasonably fast, and the parking is great. I go straight to the underground parking because it's easier to find a place close to the doors (elevator) and the parking spaces are wider. This is a Ralphs. I get the feeling that some people reviewing here would prefer to have it be a Gelson's with Ralphs prices. On the whole, I've been treated very well there. The prices are great if you know how to work the system, (digital coupons and such.) There are also items marked down for quick sale and I've yet to be poisoned by one of them. Every time I give Vons a try, I find out again why it is that I shop at this Ralphs. read more

This Ralphs is right across from my office building, so I'm a huge fan of walking over for a quick grocery run. Be it medicine, food, or booze, this location has everything! This location now has a Starbucks inside, which is odd considering that there is a location literally around the corner. I guess America is just getting THAT lazy. The salad bar is fresh, cheap and delicious if you want to come in to grab a quick box lunch and head back to work. They also have the hot plate bar and soups if you are craving those. All in all, the variety of product available here are great. I come because of convenience and great prices and so should you! read more

I came, I saw, I bought groceries for a reasonable price. But perhaps the best thing I liked was that I was looking for something in the frozen section, and the lady went out of her way to find it for me. Also I really like the parking lot. read more

SUSHI - We picked up some sushi last night and while the fish was fresh enough the rice was very hard and dry. Disappointing and not good at all especially since the sushi is made in house. Interesting there is a review from April here that also mentions the rice being hard. I think this needs addressing! read more

Clean, well stocked and vast variety of items in produce, dairy, deli, breads and pastries. I felt this was like a Swedish grocery store where everything was displayed well, and there were options of things that I haven't seen at other grocery stores. Prices were pretty fair. There are two levels of parking, one on the street level, which I never use because the spaces are tight. I use the lower parking garage, and take the elevator up. This trip I bought a variety of cheeses, yogurts, deli meats, produce and more! The quality here is much better than Vons. read more

This store is the worst. They have taken the idea of self check out to far. After eleven no cashiers are available except one who is manning the self check out stations. When I got in line there was an older gentleman who was very confused and could not work the machines. The machines also do not allow you to buy alcohol so 5 out of the 7 people checking out had "special" circumstances that required the help of the single cashier. She was doing her best but it was to much for one person. And I also understand that they don't allow alcohol purchases after 12. So a grocery store that is here to provide service is not only refusing to serve its customers by having cashiers and baggers, but it is eliminating peoples jobs to replace them with machines. This practice is also discriminatory to older people who can not learn the new machines. And to add insult to injury, this company that wants to embrace the machines and cold humanness interactions, doesn't even take tap payment from phones. Do not support this type Ralphs. And if you must go, please go before 11 so you support people who need to make money by being cashiers. Oh and if you need a bottle of wine... look elsewhere if it's after midnight. Excellent​ service in the ​Floral Department​​ yesterday around​ 5:30 to 6pm! On behalf of Toastmasters Santa Monica Club 21, I would like to thank the lovely professional woman who helped with the​ specialty balloons that I brought in to be filled with helium. I appreciated her taking the time with me, being communicative on getting these decorations blown up right. As some balloons needed tassels to​ be attached, confetti​ added, and some balloons​ were quite large! My speech club was having its 84th-anniversary​​ party, and I only had a short time to accomplish the goals of decorating with a​ 1930s vintage theme. Because​ of her timely​​ service, I was able to get back to the event place and have that room decorated in time with my team at Toastmasters, Santa Monica Club 21! In addition to the Floral Department​ service, the male employee at the door who escorted me to the floral department was attentive​. When you have employees​ like that, it says everything about the leadership. Thank you. I hope to shop there again. read more

WORMS IN WILD CAUGHT SALMON!!! I bought a piece of wild caught salmon this afternoon and we cooked it for dinner. After a few bites, we realize WORMS inside the salmon. We called the store a few times and finally reached the manager named 'Nancy' and explained what happened. She was not even surprised like it is very normal and did not even say sorry, just told me to bring the fish back so that I can either get my money back or buy something else. I wanted to make my point and said are you serious: you are selling fish with worms inside, didn't even say we will make sure the other customer do not have the same problem and asking me to bring cooked fish back to the store??? She just said ' let me transfer you to the seafood department' and we had a useless conversation with a guy who just packs the seafood. They do not care about nobodies health... read more

I used to shop here a lot, but it has gone way downhill. The uncaring checker charged me for plums and oranges, neither of which I bought. I had to go back into the store to get charged the proper amount for the potatoes and bananas that I bought. There was no apology from the checker who overcharged me for stuff I didn't buy. In addition, they were out of oatmeal, strawberries and my preferred brand of orange juice. In the future, I'll patronize Trader Joe's. read more
