I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years due to work travel. This is by far the worst. It would not have been so bad, had it not been for the "bait & switch". The two hotels where I would generally stay, were sold out. I did not want to drive too far out of the way for my morning appointment. Ramada, those are nice, right? Reputable? Mid-tier, according to the Wyndam website. The photos looked great...the price was cause for concern. Needed a place to lay my head so, booked online. Pull up and knew this was a mistake. Walked into lobby, thought well, maybe not. The lobby was immaculate. There was even a cozy fire going. Get to room, by driving to the other side of the hotel. The facade on the outside was falling off. Missing completely in places. Entry door to hotel does not lock. No key needed to get in. The bed and headboard looked new. That is where it ended. The bathroom was awful. Only the mirror light worked, so, it was dark. There was a huge stain on the carpet. The cloth chair looked stained and dusty. The non-carpeted floor looked new, but it was sticky. Completely uncomfortable all night...but for $55 should I expect more? @Wyndam should really look into properties bearing their name. read more

Do not stay here. The tropical courtyard and heated pool that is advertised are way too cold to swim and in the winter. I'm driving halfway across the country and wanted to take a break from a snowy road trip to spend the evening swimming, in a WARM pool. Not only is the pool much too cold to actually swim in because the courtyard is probably like 70°, My room is cold too? This is the coldest hotel. I've stayed in my entire trip. So much for my tropical poolside evening. This place is maybe half a step up from a super sketchy motel. The key to one of the doors in my room, that overlooks the courtyard does not work, and I was told to just prop my door open if I'm in the courtyard which is so crazy I don't even know what to say. right now I'm in my room, with my wool socks, on two layers on top, and my scarf wrapped around my neck and I'm still cold. The fluorescent lights make me want to stab my eyes out. I've asked them to turn the heat up three times. I want to leave and stay at a different hotel very badly.. it is clean. That is the upside. But it is very rundown. There is mildew on the rafters in the "tropical courtyard." My room is pretty dismal too. The main section is OK although horribly lit, but the entrance is disgusting. The hotel has a very 70s five and there's something interesting about it. This is a CAUTIONARY TALE for all travelers! We found a hotel by the Wyndham hotel group and it got almost 5 stars! So I booked it.. I THOUGHT! Somehow I got it mixed up with THIS Wyndham hotel. Ramada Wyndham. You can see by the pictures that the hotel is filthy and out of date. BUT the main problem is that it does not meet SAFETY FIRE CODES and SECURITY CODES. #1.) My husband is a Safety Instructor and a Firefighter so he always takes note of fire extinguishers etc.. The fire extinguishers have not been inspected for 2 Years. The law is inspection every year by a trained Expert and once a month by a visual inspection. #2.) The parking lot is NOT LIT- that is not only dangerous from a safety standpoint but is a SECURITY issue as well. #3.) The Pool courtyard area is NOT lit so passing thru is Scary and presents a major Safety and Security problem. #4.) With the lack of inspections and lack of cleanliness - I believe it is reasonable to conclude that the food preparation area would be a health risk also. We only spent the night because it was late and we had driven hours and were tired and honestly did not see the fire extinguisher violations until the morning as we were leaving During these times, many are more cautious about traveling- Ramada and Wyndham should be embarrassed. Soon as I walked in, it was extremely cold in the room. Come to find out the heater didn't work. I called front desk they urged me a maintenance man would come up to help. He did come up mad fix it. sadly this was the best interaction I had with the staff during my stay. Wouldn't recommend to anyone stopping through Clarion, Pa. You can find better I promise. This hotel is literally disgusting. I can't believe that the health department doesn't shut them down. The website is so wrong. The restaurant is closed....no breakfast.....filthy....filthy....filthy. I had a non-refundable reservation. I heard the place was disgusting, but I decided to go anyway....how bad could it be?.....right? I showed up, checked in, then checked right back out. I held up my end of the bargain by showing up. Ramada by Wyndham didn't hold up there end of the bargain. The staff didn't seem to care about anything. They even told me they would refund my money, but that never happened. What a shame! This property is an old Holiday Inn that Wyndham rejuvenated. The repaint was great and the flooring and other improvements were better than most I have seen. The dining room was very nice as were the meeting rooms. The only problem was the smell of chlorine in the dining room from the old type Holiday Inn pool in the middle of the hotel. The front desk staff could have been a little friendlier but I felt they were not used to being in the "Hospitality" business and seemed untrained. I lived in the area years ago, and this was a really high-class property. It is now a poorly-managed dump. No breakfast available because the restaurant is closed and no coffee pot in the room. Housekeeping never came to the room, not even to empty wastebaskets and freshen towels. Vending machines are cash only but the front desk can't change a 20. Door cards had to be remagnetized 4 times in 2 days. Sidewalk was covered in slippery berries and pavement is uneven and crumbling. You couldn't pay me enough to go back. Disgusting. read more

Everything was closed but not posted on the website or when we booked the room. When we made the reservation the price that was quoted was not what they told us when we got there!!! One of the worst hotels ever. How low can Raddison go? A worker doing renovations let himself in my room while I was on the can! The new showers are nice but have no shelf for soaps. The kitchen is slow and forgetful. My room keys had to be recoded every day. All smoking is outside which is fine but there isn't a single bench or designated space anywhere. Save yourself the aggravation and stay at the Hampton across the street. Update - I forgot to mention that there are no shears on the windows so you have to keep the blackout drapes pulled. read more

So I'm an avid yelper so this may be a long post. I'll skip how or why I found this place but just so you know I stay in a lot of hotels. Dozens a year and I always try to find the best deal. This place was higher priced but when I called they offered a coupon which lowered the price to 60$. The website showed free breakfast but there is no free breakfast unless your a member and you spin a wheel when you check in and win a free meal. Otherwise you get a 20% off coupon for the entrées (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) which for a 70$ bill amounted to 2$ tonight. The lobby and bar are beautiful!!! When you check in you think your getting some bang for your buck but it's all a facade. Hotel is dilapidated. Rooms have been touched up but still have saggy ceiling tiles and mildew smell. Shower is new but you have to climb in and burn yourself to turn on the water. (Poorly thought out. See pic) Restaurant was dead. Food was overpriced and not worth the money. They said 14$ was the going rate for a dozen wings. Now to the pool. My wife and I wanted to go for a swim but when we got to the indoor pool (which was in the center of the hotel and very clean) we were surrounded by a bunch of tattooed guys drinking and partying. I have tattoos too but they were pretty rough so my wife didn't want to swim in front of them. So all in all If you need to stay in clarion spend a few more bucks and stay in a nicer hotel. read more

We have had a very enjoyable stay here at the Park Inn. It is currently under reconstruction, so please excuse any signs of such. But we had a great breakfast from their restaurant out by the pool, we played billiards, played some miniature golf, and swam for a while this morning. We should've known better as soon as we pulled up to their marquee sign that was literally spray painted on. Let me start with opening the door to our room, we got smacked in the face with an horrendous odor. We look at the floor and it's old , dirty, and cut up in areas. Our beds were unmade and looked like they had been slept in. This place literally looks as though it was from the 60s-70s and has not been cleaned since then, there was an overall grimyness to it, and a yellow tinge. The ac didn't work, the windows didn't open, the shower was filthy, the phone used to be white and is now yellow. Small, old tv. Barely any plugs for our things. So I call the front desk just to get an answer to how old exactly is this place? I'm immediately met with aggression, she says in an attitude WHY. I said I'm just curious. She said I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY DO YOU WANT TO KNOW. So I explain to her the condition of the room and she said well nobody has ever complained. I said heck just look at all of ur reviews,90% of them have exactly all the things I just told you. She says (still with an attitude) I can get u one of the renovated rooms , I said why didn't you do that in the first place. She says I don't understand ur question. Unfortunately we had to stay because there wasn't another hotel for an hour away and we were exhausted.DO NOT GO HERE. Stayed here in the past when it was a Holiday Inn and recently stayed after it changed names/management. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel now. Price is mid-range for the area. However no free WiFi, no coffee, no breakfast. You have to pay for everything which adds up quickly. There is a bar at this location and it's not uncommon for inebriated guests to wander around. There's also a restaurant with a very limited menu and high prices. This location is notorious for being "loud" and good luck getting rest. The swimming pool has no lifeguard and there are groups of unsupervised children in the pool & running around the courtyard until it closes at 11 pm. Employees & management both do not address guests' concerns. The attitude seems to be "we got your money and could care less about your comfort." If you can afford something in a higher price range stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Clarion. If you're looking for something in the same price range as this Ramada Inn stay at the Quality Inn in Clarion, better service and great free breakfast. Extremely pleased with my stay. I was stranded in the middle of the night due to vehicle troubles and needed an affordable place to stay. Not only was it affordable but clean and very comfortable.
