This hotel is a basic, pleasant place to stay. Booked through Wynham website. Spring break so prices everywhere were very high and it was one of the least expensive. It is a little dated but so is grandma's house, right?! Bed was a king, comfy, soft sheets. Every amenity you might need from iron to a safe, to microwave, coffee pot & fridge were provided. Bathroom was very clean and safe. Huge carb-laden buffet with waffle maker. Concerned that the sausage gravy that was in a crockpot was cold and had to be microwaved on a Styrofoam plate. Cereals, pastries, bananas and apples, bread, bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, butter. But no meat or eggs. I always go for hard-boiled eggs if available. Coffee dispenser and Lipton. Juices. Milk. My kids would have loved it! The waffles smelled amazing! Staff at the desk are very nice and a guy was working hard in the massive laundry room (door was open and on the way to the front lobby) and several maid's carts parked outside the laundry. I know that many places are struggling for staff these days, and I admire the folks who work hard to provide for others. read more

I mean if you're expecting the kind of stay that they show on the commercials....prepare for a disappoint. But if you're a traveling drug dealer THIS IS THE SPOT!! Clients just patrolling the parking lot, no need for feelers. It has the perks: *pet friendly *pool (6ft deepest) *breakfast (well food anyway) Check in was smooth. Once we got to our rooms (we booked 2) we got to see the full glory of this place. Both rooms had the screens either ripped or completely stripped from the frames. Dont worry though, windows dont actually open. Water pressure is on point. If youre looking for a mock fire hydrant pressure, i have a skin condition and could not get a shower. The pressure in both rooms was intense enough to strip you of all dna. My room could definitely use a plumber to caulk the lining and do something about the spiket. Both rooms had a rather musty smell that you will unthankfully get accustomed to. My parents room had a rather vintage paper plate taped over the smoke detector, well what was ONCE a smoke detector. Took a gander under that plate to see the beautiful artisitc wiring now deemed useless im sure. The pool was decent for an outdoor pool, they even had noodles and toys for the kids. That was nice. Breakfast had no life. Not only my family but many others made remarks of disappointment. Biscuits and gravy from maybe a week ago? A waffle maker that maybe could use a clean up once in a while, but those were good. I was really hoping for some type of meat though, sausage or bacon maybe. Overall it was a dissappointment. One of the beds had wrinkled sheets and the other had smooth pressed sheets. Dried brown blood stains on fitted sheets. Floor not vacuumed. Carpet to bathroom floor can see dried hair. Sink had many cracks. Calking not clean. Sink next to ice machine has dirty open plumping. Looks like hotel had superficial work done. Surrounding sidewalk is very uneven. Overall did not feel clean. I paid $347.96 for two nights at this run-down cigarette smoke filled s**t hole. Yes, every time I stepped out of my room, I walked into a cigarette smoke filled hallway. I felt like I was in a crack house. They should have paid me to stay there it was so bad. Everything from the furniture inside the room to the beat up hallway leading there was about ten years past due for remodeling. There were thigh high weeds in the parking lot. Absolutely disgusting place to stay. Would not recommend at all! I've stayed at many hotels in Columbia for the last five years, by far the absolute worst. You've been warned, stay away. Not a single issue here. We were in town for a football game and everything was sold out. The front desk gal was so nice and helpful. The rooms were super clean. The bed comfortable. Never would have expected to enjoy this hotel as much as we did. It may be on the cheaper side but it truly doesn't feel like it once you arrive. We'll stay again. read more

Not the worst but it could be better with a little effort. I'm tired of hearing about how Covid protocols mean they can't clean a room. If a school custodian can clean a school during the height of Covid a hotel custodian can pick up dirty towels and leave fresh ones. It's just an excuse to cut staff. Our room was ignored and I'd like to at least get clean towels. Breakfast was okay, not great but fine for this place. I travel a lot (Hilton Diamond, Marriott Platinum) and this is the worse hotel experience ever. Dirty socks in room on floor when entered, floor clearly hadn't been swept, bed sheets were dirty, tub was filthy. Went to front desk to see about switching rooms and the response was, "we're sold out, so no switching". I then asked about getting a refund as I used points, the response, "your room was free anyway so I can't do anything". read more

When we arrived we were told our room was on the second floor. That was fine, however, we were not told that there is not an elevator. I am disabled and stairs are not necessarily my friends. I have been sitting in a car all day and my hips are sore. Once we made into our room, we found an in wall USB charger and tried to plug in our phone but it is not working. As we walked through the first floor hallway it completely reeked of cigarette smoke and this is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. I am just disgusted. read more

This place barely deserves one star. I don't even know how the place is in business. The only reason I'm okay with rating it a single star, instead of insisting that it deserves zero, are 3 reasons: the lady at the front desk was very nice, it was inexpensive (this could also be a con...you get what you pay for), and it is pet friendly. The room itself was DISGUSTING. I could barely get any kind of sleep, didn't even want to stay there, but my husband insisted it was fine for one night. It smelled like cleaning chemicals when we first entered the room, which seemed promising to me. The longer we were in the room though, the more I smelled pee. Very strongly. Musty. It made it hard for me to breathe. I'm guessing they douse the room with air freshener before you get there, but when it settles, you can smell the truth! I wouldn't allow any of my family to shower there, the tub was disgusting. The bathroom floor was sticky, and the carpet in the room also made my feet sticky. I laid down the bath towels provided on the carpet so I could avoid stepping on the carpet. It didn't feel clean at all. Our curtains were broke, so they wouldn't stay closed. I used my hair clips (pictures) to keep them drawn, because being on the first floor, didn't wanna risk waking up in the middle of the night and seeing anyone passing by the window, or worse, peeping in! Also, our sink wouldn't drain. I didn't mind the dated furniture, functionality and cleanliness are most important to me. But in case it's important to you, the rooms are not updated in the least. Toenail clippings in the sheets & pubic hairs on the toilet & bathroom floor. That says all you need to know about this disgusting & unsanitary hotel. The smell of deodorizer was overwhelming but still, no match for the stench of filth, mildew, urine, & god knows what else. The furniture was so beat looking, that I'm sure the owner found it on the side of the road. The sheets are no longer white but a dingy yellow color, mismatched & not clean. Someone's pet (I assume) lifted its leg on the bed skirt. The pool is supposedly still closed due to COVID, but every other hotel pool in the country is open now and this pool doesn't look like it's been operational for 10 years. Even if it was operational, the pool isn't more than a 5'x5' hole in the ground in the middle of the parking lot. No atmosphere, just asphalt. The hotel is supposedly undergoing renovations. The only evidence of this that I saw was mold being painted over on the ceiling of the lobby. The lobby smells like cigarettes, sweat, & desperation. Our room was so nasty that we forfeited our non-refundable $250 for a one-night reservation. The hotel owner has some serious cajones charging that much for such a dump. He clearly has never spent a night in his own hotel. STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!! read more

Decided to shock the pool at 11:00 AM. Kicked us out. Doing that at 6:00 AM when no one is swimming would have made too much sense. Phone does not work. Doors stick and smell like smoke in nonsmoking room. Sink faucet water is either super hot or super cold. You cannot adjust it and never know which it will be. Resorted to washing our hands using the tub faucet. Waffles taste like chemicals. Ridiculous. A couple hours later, and I can report a dead bird in the filter of the pool not properly dealt with, and right now, we are sitting in darkness. The maintenance man flipped the breaker off to a set of rooms and the office. They can't figure out how to get the power back on... read more

This place is extremely run down, the toilet moves, the walls are poorly patched up, the wall fixtures are hung up poorly and rehung up. Most of the lamps you had to click the button in just the right spot to get them to turn on. Furniture is super dated and cheap. Tub was stained, wore shoes in the room because I was afraid to touch the floor with my bare feet. I do not recommend this place and will never stay here again. Before posting my four star rating, I checked out all of the bad reviews for this Ramada and realized "ahh" because I paid a comparatively tiny amount on Travelocity for the room (I see other reviews mentioning 3 times the price here and for that rate I would give this place 1 star!), and we do not normally use any amenities like continental breakfast or request additional items from the front desk. For a clean and comfortable night's stay on a hiking trip this was great! We had a king room on the first floor and all was functional. It was very quiet all night, dark enough, A/C was cold, and the bed was pretty good with nicer linens for this price level. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer, iron and ironing board made for a nice little selection of extras. We just used the fridge to stow drinks but it worked well. The bathroom was a little strange due to this being an accessible room (not needed by us, but great that it's so well equipped). There were a total of 8 (!) grab bars in the bathroom along with a medical type shower chair...although I was very happy to have a nice tub and abundant hot water for my post-hike soak. Staff was friendly, other guests seemed pleasant, and this location is close to shopping, dining, and downtown (by car - not adjacent to downtown) as well as the Women's & Children's Hospital (not sure of exact name). The only negative thing I would say is this Ramada swimming pool is pretty pathetic. It is very tiny and right next to the highway. We didn't use it because there were always four or five swimmers in it during our stay, and it's so small it would be almost like sharing a large (cold) hot tub with strangers. No thanks! read more

To prospective guests: Be warned! Wife and I just drove in 1500 miles. Stopped to sleep here. Unfortunately money is more important to these foreign owned hotels. We arrived later than usual @ 300amand the clerk said we could late check out. She said 130pm. We said great!. Went to bed exhausted. At 915am the door opens and someone saw my nakedness. As well as my wife's. I swear we deadbolts the door... At 1045am the fire alarm goes off, intermittently for 20 minute. Next, at 1115am a guy knocks on the door. I'm still naked. Is there no peace??? I would have slept better in my car which is very small. A 1130 wife is in shower and I'm getting dressed. Desk calls and says he's going to charge 10 buck. I almost laugh right there! I told him wife is in shower. Makes no difference. I hang up. We head to front desk, manager starts blaming the fact we came in late as reason to kick us out and he has no control what night manager(sister) told us.so it's our fault ? Wow! Location seems a little dark. Lights were off to the building when we pulled up during the evening. Room was really clean and seemed well kept. The water was really hot in the shower and the beds were a little uncomfortable. The morning breakfast was ok, not really a whole lot to choose from. I give this place 2 stars, and that is generous. Everything, such as the bathroom floors, were sticky. The appliances in this hotel seemed to be over 20 years old. And the other reviews are correct when they say there is an overwhelming smell of cleaning product when you walk in. I asked for a crib multiple times, and the front desk people seemed to not understand what a crib was. Finally they got me one for my infant 3 hours later. They asked me to come pick it up from the lobby instead of bringing it up to me. I find it weird this hotel did not have an elevator. The hotel staff was friendly, but most were seemingly incompetent. The continental breakfast is nothing to write home about. It was $60 for one night, and I got what I paid for. read more

This is a mixed review. When I first arrived, I needed a place to sleep the night where I wouldn't get broken into, I could have a bed free of bugs, the sheets wouldn't be nasty, and the price would not be based on an hourly rate. I walked in there wanting to see a room up front because I had already viewed the Country Inn and Suites and they were asking for $100+. Ramada, $75. This visit occurred at 7-11-14, there was only one young lady to attend to me (she was managing the entire complex by herself, the phone was ringing off the hook and people were whining and moaning about getting their rooms) and she did a great job!! 5-stars for service. The room had a weird smell to it, which I isolated it down to the AC. Thus I couldn't have the room cool without the fishy/weird smell. (half-star off) The wi-fi also required restarting. (half-star off). There was this car that had car-alarm problems for a LONG time. I called down to the desk and she was able to get the guest to stop the noise, but they merely changed its parking spot (which was meaningless because the car still went off a couple of times during the night [half-star again]). For breakfast, the pickings were really not that great. I was hoping for some eggs and sausage, I got neither. They offered cereal, toast, and waffles. I think pancakes might have been an option, but I'm not a pancake guy and I had to figure out what I wanted to eat (another half-star). So the lady at front was VERY helpful even if the place she worked for was a dump. So she gets 5-stars and the hotel gets 3 (or perhaps less). I guess I got what I paid for.... read more

Where do I begin! First, do not, I repeat do not stay here! So many things that are bad not sure how to list. The place hasn't been remodeled probably since the 80's and it is in desparate need. Funny smell in the room. Not sure if it's the cleaning solution they use or they are trying to mask another odor. Whatever the case, it was disguesting. Stains on the sheets. They had been washed, but needed to be replaced, same with the towels. When i asked for additional towels, the woman at the desk said, they were out. (I think she was the only person working in the entire hotel). Poor temperature control. Sticky substance in the night table drawer. Gross! Also room seemed dusty, all kept sneezing and we don't have allergies. Didn't try the breakfast, had no interest. Two positives: wifi was good and the bed was fairly comfortable. We came to Columbia for a college weekend and this was the only room available, even 6 months ago. We won't stay here again. Would rather drive an extra 1/2 hour to Jefferson City if no other rooms are available, and that says something.. And the worst part, they charged $129/night for the room. A very standard and underwhelming hotel stay. The room was clean, the heater worked, and it lacked in any distinctive odors. That's all good news! But...that's also where the good news ended. There was no elevator--only a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nevertheless. The front desk could not offer a corkscrew. Granted, WE are the ones that forgot our own corkscrew, but it's a very small cost to the hotel and would have helped us out. They say breakfast is served between 6-9, but what they mean is "breakfast is over at 9." We showed up at 8:45 and there was one blueberry bagel and one plain one. The waffles were gone as was the sausage gravy. We waited at first for the final re-stock but it never came. When we finally asked about it, we were told "breakfast is over." OK, sure, it is NOW, but where was the food 15 minutes ago. The shower cycled between scalding hot and ice cold. I know, I know(!), Yelp readers, these are all very minor problems--some of which were brought on by this writer. But, these are precisely the kinds of things that a hotel worthy of higher review would take into consideration. Yelp says two stars is the qualitative equivalent of "Meh, I've experienced better." That seems exactly right. The rooms are clean and odor free; the bathroom had toilet paper; there were towels. But, aside from that, everything else was either mediocre or absolutely lacking. Oh! The wi-fi totally worked and absolutely did not suck. (Which has not been true at other hotels I've stayed in.) So there's that. Ha! After I hit publish on this review the hair dryer broke and could not be reset, and my Special Lady Friend discovered that the ice machine won't produce ice. YAY! Let's get out of here! read more

I stay in different hotels every week. Ramada has improved there rooms, but they are still very generic. Nothing bad in them now, but nothing stands out. Here is my biggest beef...having their breakfast go until only 9am. It is a pretty lame breakfast to begin with as the only hot item is biscuits and gravy (substandard biscuits), but hotel chains need to realize that a lot of their travelers work late at night and need to get breakfast past 9am. Here is another thing that hotels need to keep an eye on---the dry heating units that have 2 setttings--no heat or constantly blowing--no matter what setting you put it on. This was another problem with this hotel. The best thing I can say for this hotel was that I got a good rate on Priceline, so I didnt feel ripped off--just felt blah about it. read more

If I thought I could find another place to stay on homecoming weekend, I'd pack my bags and leave. The yuck factor for this place is a 12 on a 1:10 scale. Disgusting is putting it mildly. Just settled into our room. Older hotel, but clean. Got a GREAT Priceline deal, so excellent rate! Bathroom is small but very clean. About what I expected. Front desk just called to see that everything was ok. Not sure why, but ok... lol Kids and hubby are at the outdoor pool and I can see them having a great time! Happy with the standard. My Yelp pet-peeve is when people critique as though for a travel magazine. This is a 2-2 1/2 star hotel... And as such I'm giving them 4 stars for what they are. Get it??? This is not an upscale stop, but it's excellent for a bed and a hot shower. I didn't give 5 stars cuz of the toxic smell of cigarette smoke in the halls. I truly did feel nauseated. But in my room it's not as strong and and not as noticeable. It's a non-smoking hotel and I imagine they charge for violations... They should use those funds to clean the smell better. That's it. My only complaint is they stop serving breakfast at 9 even on the weekends and they do not keep the breakfast area well cleaned and stocked during breakfast hours. Maybe the Ramada was super-cool back in the 80's or something, but now it's just old, generic, privately owned, and slowly crumbling. Works for a quick overnight stay, but definitely nothing special--old, scratched up furniture, TV where you can turn it off w/ remote but have to turn on on the side of TV, broken phone, etc. Definitely in need of an update that you can tell will never happen. We checked in for last night. The rooms were outdated but seemed to be clean and everything seemed fine. Then around midnight a thunderstorm came and water was gushing in our room. I called the front desk and he told me there was nothing he can do. A little while later my husband woke up and his side of the bed by the window was soaking wet. Water was pouring into the electrical socket and into the air conditioning unit. We had 2 young kids with us. I went to the front desk and asked for a refund. The young man told me he couldn't give me one and if I didn't leave he'd call the cops. Then he offered a room directly above our room. There was no elevator and my 6 year old was asleep and is too heavy to carry upstairs. So we packed all of our stuff (at 2 AM) and drive 10 miles to a very nice Holiday In. Please don't stay here. I called and spoke with a manager this morning and he told me he could only give me a 50% refund. This incident was a FIRE HAZARD. Also the manager told me he was aware of the problem but hadn't checked into it yet. Worst hotel stay in years. Entire hotel smelled like a marijuana dispensary. My kids kept asking what that smell was. There was Mold and mildew all over the ceiling that has never been cleaned. Found 3 bugs in our bed. And then we needed to stay an extra hour because of our schedule and they said it would be an extra $10 per hour. Not worth the over charged price we paid of $108 for the Show Me Tournament. Usually this room is $65, but to be fair that's asking too much. Linens were clean. We were in room 231 and it reeked of smoke. Allegedly this is a non-smoking facility and it has been "years" since they allowed smoking in the room. That's not what this room told us. It was so bad my clothes smelled like smoke when not at the hotel. Even my mattress smelled like smoke. The entire place is very outdated. The carpet and mattresses desperately needs updated. The tub was peeling something. We stayed for two nights yet the cleaning crew never made it to our room. We did not have the do not disturb sign on our door since the room didn't have one. I did talk to the front desk and he took my info. Yet he did not try to alleviate the issues. I had to ask him for towels and bring them up myself. Breakfast was horrible with not much to eat (cereal, cold biscuits, cold gravy, waffles). Very disappointed with our stay. read more
