Based on multiple direct observations throughout the facility, I cannot recommend this location under any circumstances. The most alarming issue is the pervasive lack of cleanliness and hygiene across both private and shared spaces. Upon arrival, the hallway immediately conveyed a strong odor consistent with wet animals and bodily activity, setting the tone for what followed. Directly across from our assigned room, a door was left open to a unit that appeared to be in the process of being "aired out," with laundry bins and soiled contents visible--an unmistakable indication of unresolved cleanliness issues. Inside our own room, further evidence reinforced this pattern. The ceiling showed visible signs of water damage and permeation. Basic fixtures were either broken or incomplete, including missing or nonfunctional toiletry dispensers. When we requested body wash, it was not provided through proper amenities but instead handed over in a separate bottle, suggesting improvised rather than maintained standards. The sanitation concerns extended beyond the room into the hotel's shared amenities. The swimming pool was visibly unclean, and I personally removed debris from the skimmers, including dead insects and hair clippings. The Jacuzzi was in a severely compromised state--its water so opaque and milky that the bottom was not visible, raising immediate concerns about filtration and safety. Outdoor areas, while visually promising at a distance, proved equally neglected upon closer inspection. Seating areas were covered in spiderwebs and debris, and the surrounding grounds contained cigarette waste embedded in the landscaping. The entire exterior environment carried a stale, ashtray-like odor, making it unsuitable even for brief use. Attempts to utilize the space for a simple yoga practice were abandoned due to these conditions. Compounding these issues was a mismatch between advertised amenities and actual service. Despite references to hospitality benefits, basic items such as bottled water were not included and required additional payment. Even the so-called "complimentary" breakfast, which had effectively been prepaid under a nonrefundable rate, felt questionable to consume given the overall state of cleanliness. We hadn't planned on staying in Columbia this night. But it happened on our trip we needed to stop before we planned. This place had a room that wasn't as expensive as some of the other places we called while driving. I must say we nearly turned around and left the parking lot when we got here. No signage, bugs all around outside and a really run down look. When we inquired at the front desk, we were told they were going through an ownership change and a lot of renovations were being done. I honestly didn't see anything resembling construction. It was late, we were staying one night. I wanted to see the room before I confirmed and we were allowed to. Breakfast the next morning was what you'd expect at a sad little hotel. But we got out without bedbugs or some weird rash. I would not stay here again. Horrible!!!! Hotel is old and worndown needing a massive upgrade/update. Rooms look exactly the same as when we stayed 13 years ago. First room we went into smelled horribly of bleach and this was at 8pm at night. We found hairs in the sheets and..wait for it.......a FLAMING HOT CHEETO on the floor in plain view. We asked for another room and in this one we found more hairs in the sheets, a red stain on one of the sheets and.....A SLIM JIM WRAPPER by the bed on the floor and one of the small medicine cups on the floor too. My husband & I stay in hotels all the time. Sure there are things that aren't great, even a little dirty from time to time. I have never given a bad review. But this was THEE WORST experience I've ever had. While I was in the bathroom around midnight I could hear water dripping. I thought maybe the shower wasn't turned off all the way, but then I discovered water coming from the ceiling!!! I called the front desk & spoke with the staff. The guy said, "there's nothing I can do we're full. I said, "I can't believe your poor judgment to leave us in a room that has water coming from the ceiling." He responded with, "it's not poor judgment. I have no other room to put you in." The next morning we went to talk with a manager about it. The manager said, "oh yeah the guy last night refunded you your room." He did not even apologize!!!! read more

This was the best Hampton hotel experience we've had on our trip from Ca to TN and back toward Ca. Every one from the front desk to Eugena at the breakfast area were so genuine and helpful. The room was every bit as nice and quite. We even had help to remove the snow and ice from our windshield and windows. This hotel staff deserves a huge bonus of gratitude from the owners. read more

Kitten at night shift was so amazing and welcoming. We arrived tired to the point we were really out of sorts. And she was patient and helped us get the exact room we wanted. At morning we ate a really good great breakfast. I didn't get her name, but she asked my daughter if she wanted to get anything more before everything got cleared out. That was sweet. We did digital check in here... The only reason I gave 3 stars was the breakfast. The room is outdated, the bed feels like you are sleeping on a hard wood floor. It was clean but I'm telling ya... Review based on 1 night stay on the 5th floor (during pandemic): Traveling through the area and looked for a well reviewed Hilton property, this one popped up better compared to the other locations. First Impressions: - Hotel appears to be older, could use a renovoation - Room/Hallway smelled a little musty - Snack packet from previous occupants were left on window sill, trash/food under sofa bet...questioned thoroughness and cleanliness of the room PROS: + Pool was decent, not over chlorinated with good fresh sized towels + Power outlets by bed/nightstand were adequate with a pull out shelf CONS: - Bedroom smelled like cigarette smoke. Not strong, but definitely there - While the bedroom was spacious, the layout was not well utilized. Furniture such as the square ottoman were broken with wheels missing/broken off - Room did not feel clean as trash was found throughout the room, not sure if it was from just the previous occupant or previous occupants - 2 elevators by the front desk are slow if you have a high floor and have to make multiple runs to/from vehicle - Sign on rear building entrance (2nd floor) states "No Smoking", but there's a smoking station right by the doorway - No microwave in the room, have to use the one in the lobby - Bathroom sink drained slowly We let the front desk know of all the issues during checkout and received an apology. Hey guys.. this hotel was horrible!!! The showers were the worse thing here also! In the shower you either got burning hot water or freezing cold water. When we got in there I did not notice anything on the comforter it was a pretty room until this morning... this morning when we woke up I saw blood on my comforter. This may be the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The room was "sealed" and sanitized for us, even the remote control was cleaned. There are really cool convenience features that I wish I had at home like the nightlight in the outlet, narrow built in desk, and having the faucet switches on the opposite wall from the shower head (allows the water to be turned on without getting wet). The staff were all very friendly and wearing masks and socially distancing. The "to go" breakfast was not great but it was ok. The fitness center was also very clean and well stocked, though not particularly large, it got the job done. The bed was comfy too! I definitely plan to stop here the next time I'm passing through. read more

We stayed here for a short weekend getaway and had one of the worst experiences in a hotel recently. The room smelled- maybe of stale smoke? I couldn't pinpoint the smell, but it made our clothes stink. The sink's drain was clogged and the drain in the tub was slow. The next morning a condom was in the hallway when we went to breakfast and was still there at noon when we left. The breakfast was free and hot which is something we like in a hotel. Very modernly remodeled room and nice staff. Best comfortable Hilton model Serta mattress, wood tiled Bathroom, glass door shower, shelves for towels and items made this a unique stay. Breakfast was good fresh fruit and different choices of hot items each day made by a sweet kitchen staff. Coffee and apples available all day. And cookies at evening time. All staff from front desk to maintenance men on elevators were very friendly and gave great suggestions for restaurants and shopping. Thank you for a great experience. Notes: Pillows were flat but staff brought 3-4 more so we slept like bears. Typical Hampton Inn. Comfy bed and friendly staff. Lots of place to eat within walking distance of the hotel. My big gripe about the hotel was the layout of the room. The desk is facing the opposite wall of the TV, so I am unable to watch TV and work at teh same time. But the biggest issue with the layout is the lounge chair is in a spot that you can not lay on the chair and watch TV. Teh closet blocks the TV and you can not move it to see. So if you want to relax and watch TV the only option is to lay on the bed. read more

Beware of this Hotel! Room was decent, but clean. Check in staff was superb and very friendly. We would have given at least four stars, that is until we witnessed a terrible instance at the breakfast provided by the hotel. This particular hotel worker was using her bare hands, yes bare hands, to scoop shredded cheese and eggs into her mouth! Scoop and shovel, with bare hands! It's absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. No telling what the Health Department would think about this. We would stay in the rooms again here, but stay away from the contaminated breakfast. Workers have to eat too, but there are utensils for everybody, please train your workers to use them. read more

I had a nice & pleasant stay at the Hampton Inn, in Columbia, Missouri. I was there for my daughter's college graduation on Sunday, May 17, 2015. And I don't think I could've picked a better hotel to stay in. I posted some pictures, but unfortunately I did not take any pictures of my suite. I think I was tired from the long drive and when I saw the bed, I rested without much thought of taking pictures. But I will say the room was very clean, inviting and spacious. The bathroom was also spacious. I would recommend this hotel if you're in the CoMo (Columbia, Mo.) area. read more

Everything was great. Until we discovered at midnight that the toilet didn't flush! :-/ We got in around 7 ish and headed straight to dinner to meet another group of friends. By the time we got back to the room and discovered the toilet wasn't working it was too late for maintenance. And the hotel was booked solid so no changing rooms! Ahhhh I'm not gonna lie it was a total pain in the butt to have to traipse down to the lobby three floors down to use the restroom in the middle of the night. The next morning, upon checkout at 8 am, manager said they would fix it, but we were headed out anyway. They offered a reduced rate ($30 off our rate) which was a nice gesture I suppose. Overall it's a nice property, and we are platinum status Hilton people so we'd stay here again. read more

While not the most centrally located hotel in Columbia, this Hampton Inn fits the bill of a place to rest your weary head nicely. It's a hop, skip, and a jump off I-70 on the first exit in Columbia. The rooms are relatively spacious, and have been redone sometime this century. The beds are comfortable, and there's a flat-screen tv for all your viewing needs. My family and I stayed here for graduation weekend. When I booked nearly 9 months in advance, I was lucky to have been able to reserve enough rooms for all who wanted to attend graduation. I was able to cancel excess days/rooms as needed up until 24 hours prior to check-in, which was a welcome relief. The prices weren't the best, but considering that, along with football games, graduation is how many CoMo businesses make their money, there was no sticker-shock. Parking is included, as is a hot breakfast, with everything from eggs and bacon/sausage to freshly-made Belgian waffles. Space to eat your breakfast, on the other hand, is limited (particularly when there's a packed house). While this Hampton Inn won't be my first choice on return visits to Columbia, as I prefer to be closer to campus if I can, I'd recommend it to any visitor passing through. read more

Checked in and upon entering my room it stank to high heaven of cigarettes even though the entire hotel is smoke free. When I asked the front desk they simply told me to turn on my air and handed me a can of Febreze. I never got used to the smell--even the mirror stank of smoke when I leaned close to do my make-up. Breakfast was ok. Standard fare plus a few extras which was nice. The Hampton close to campus is MUCH better. They practically share a parking lot with the Burger King drive through and Cracker Barrel. Very disappointed. read more

We stayed there for Show-Me Games, where lots of kids were also staying - so all-in-all exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness. The beds were a little hard, but rooms were clean. We stayed overnight in Columbia this past weekend at the Hampton on Clark. I can't say much for the pool and various amenities as we didn't have much time to partake in say the pool or free breakfast. Therefore, I shall speak only of the service and room.....and perhaps location? The room was very nice - it didn't have that Hunter Thompson pre-madness appearance. The furniture seemed modern, and it came with a mini-fridge, which is always a bonus. The bathroom was equipped with extra towels - mega bonus. The water pressure was dangerous but amazing. Overall - the room was very clean and had no signs of extreme rowdiness. It was relatively close to the site of our dinner reservation as well and sits next door to a Cracker Barrel, which we enjoyed the next morning after we missed that all-star free continental breakfast. Overall - we had a pleasant stay. Will consider this particular location should we return to Columbia in the future. read more

If you are coming to a Mizzou function this is a great place to stay. It isn't walkable to campus from the hotel but the drive is on major roads and it will only take you 10 - 15 minutes to drive. This hotel is right off of I-70 and next door to a Cracker Barrel. The hotel is very nice and very clean! The price is reasonable. The breakfast is decent. I have been visiting Mizzou during the past 4 years and I do believe this is my favorite hotel. :) read more

The Hampton Inn Columbia is immediately off of I-70, perfect for a cross-country road trip stop. The hotel is as one would expect of a Hampton Inn with free parking, breakfast and WiFi. The pool looked nice. Ours rooms were immaculate, the front desk employee friendly and helpful and the convenience store adjacent to the desk well stocked with snacks and beer (Stella- hooray!). Note that the reception entrance is on the I-70 side of the hotel but parking around the other side (where you enter parking lot) allows you to use the back entrance- entering on the 2nd floor making it easy to unload. read more
