The room is so old and it smelled . The pillows smelled horrible! This place definitely needs to be updated especially since all come here from faraway to visit Mt Rushmore. The front desk people were not very accommodating- we asked repeatedly before our stay for a room on any floor but the first but of course they would not accommodate us and we ended up with a room on the first floor. Oh wow. This place was terrible. If we fell into a time warp and ended up back in the early 70's. This place would be fancy. This place needs a complete remodel. The water pressure was terrible, the hot and cold were mixed up, the toilet wouldn't flush unless you pushed it all the way and held it down for about 10 seconds, the TV was missing some labels of the brand, and I could literally probably change the channels with my toes. There was duct tape running across the floors at some points in the hotel. However, what made up for the poor building was the actual people that worked there. They were all kind and courteous and always willing to help. Would I recommend this place? No. If you're visiting Mount Rushmore I suggest you stay in Rapid City. I can give this place one star for the actual Hotel itself I would, but it was the workers there that pushed it up to two. I and by no means a hotel snob but come on. read more

We had never had we seen a room as small, slightly smelly and extremely outdated as this one. The minifridge was literally on the floor which has what appeared to be 20 plus year-old carpet. The TV didn't work, but the front desk sent maintenance immediately and although it took a lot of time, got it operating. After about 30 minutes the TV again stopped working, so we gave up on getting it fixed. The old bathroom was a decent size. The halls everywhere we walked smelled of a really strong bleach odor. This is the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. There was complimentary breakfast, which was what one would normally expect. The front desk was personally courteous to our complaints. We can't recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again. read more

Calling our room a suite is similar to comparing my looks to David Beckham. Most people won't agree especially my wife. Our room is a "suite" because it has a microwave and a fridge - did you all get that? And what's with the Jacuzzi in the middle of the room??? The beds were a touch lumpy. It's not all bad the staff was kind enough to get us the rolling bed. Our reservation was made 3 weeks prior to our trip same time as Sturgis bike week and this Ramada was available. Hotel was okay. We stayed one night and I didn't really have a problem with it - the room isn't huge and the bed is literally up at the wall, but the staff was pretty friendly. We did have an issue with our room not being ready til a bit after the 4pm check in time, but the cleaning staff was so nice about it and so was the front desk. There were also two guys from downstairs that helped us with our bags and that was great. The beds are comfortable enough, and the place is clean enough. It's nothing special, but it's fine for a night or two. read more

Although this motel is very close in walking distance to food bars & stores - not the cleanest -- while sitting in the bathtub one could see how filthy the toilet was around the rim - when you miss the simple stuff what else is missed ? I started to look around . While packing up the next day I noticed a RECENT blood stain On the blanket and the hotel covered it by there decorative sash that they put on the end of the bed. Made me almost throw up- because if they weren't willing to change the blanket what else did they change? This hotel is a waste of money. I can find a better place to sleep under the local bridge. Weird worker name "Jim" gave us grapes upon check in and was very upset when we said no thank you. Room smells like a overpowered dollar tree air freshener. Peep hole is plugged with toilet paper (NO JOKE, and we didn't put it there) so no one can peek at us. I got a zap when I sat on the toilet and the towels had mysteriously brown stains on them, that I can only assume is poop stains. Carpet was disgusting. The room was small. The pool was awful. Says breakfast on internet but "Jim" told us no. Lady that checked us in specifically told us "we don't have housekeeping everyday." The part that was concerning was the loud banging that occurred at 2am. That sounded like someone was renovating a bathroom. Finally we had enough and left at 3:30am we got up and left for home. read more

It was okay - the curtains were very thin, not like the normal light blocking ones in normal hotels. We had headlights and parking lot lights keep us up all night. The shower kept dripping and the hair dryer didn't work. Stayed 3 nights so no service. Not worth the hassle to ask for a different room. Would not recommend. read more

Nothing special. Had 8.2 stars on booking.com but unsure how it had that many. Drain in our tub wouldn't drain so we showered in standing water and it eventually drained after about 20 minutes. Shower curtain wasn't quite long enough to stay in the tub. Walls are painted bright red - for sure not a bedroom sleeping color. Beds were quite hard but managed to sleep in them. Quite a small 2 bed queen room very little room to move around. Overall I suggest a different hotel. Very pricey for one night at $170. read more

Very sufficient and comfortable hotel with a perfect location if you're visiting Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse Memorial. A few tings the hotel can't provide as publicized- No breakfast and no business center but that's understandable due to the Covid situation. This was a perfect stay for us. Priced appropriately and near restaurants and the 1880 Train ride. Only 2.5 miles to Mt Rushmore memorial and about 30-40 min from Rapid City Airport. I'll stay here again. read more

Might as well stay here because it's the best place to park for the fun parts of Keystone. Just call the front desk for a room, you'll get a better price with your AAA card than through the booking sites. Some of the rooms have the motel vibe door to the outside and some of the rooms might be too close to the indoor pool. Ours was too close to their laundry and had a view of the rock slide prevention fence. They don't have breakfast but the beds were really comfortable. No maid service because COVID-19 means you need to empty your own trash. Great location tho! read more

Parking with a trailer is awful at this hotel. Some rooms are outside rooms some are not. Our two queen beds set up is not like I have seen before. One queen bed is pushed up to the ac/heat unit. This type of room should only have one bed set up. read more

This is the worst hotel in Mount Rushmore area. Broken hair dryer, broken bathroom faucet, broken jacuzzi timer can't be turned on, too much chlorine burning eyes and skin, no coffee/tea maker in the room advertised to be included. The front desk refused to replace broken hair dryer and bring coffee/tea maker. Worst of all can't locate records of check in/out and dates of stay, waited for 20 minutes while having to catch flight at the Rapid City Regional Airport. Overcharged room and taxes checking out. Got a good rate through Hotwire as Custer was more expensive for just plain rooms. Outside is very quaint and the pool and hot tub were nice. The place was okay but it is in the middle of renovation so the border wall paper is half on and half off in the room. The rooms are pretty typical. Internet was so so. Staff was okay , nothing great. Breakfast is NOT included so we went on and found a great place in Hill City. Luggage cart fell apart and I had to fix it. Main lobby smells like straight chlorine and the hotel room is quite interesting... first off they only give you one bar of soap so it's either for hand washing or in the shower. 4 bath towels and two hand towels so we had to ask for extra towels. Our microwave is literally a pull out above the sink? There's no vanity so you can see pipes and wires straight under the sink. But you get what you pay for I guess and due to the location this is probably the best you can get. All I can say is the beds were comfortable with the pillow top mattress. I think I'd spend the extra hours driving to the next town to find a better place. read more

Although they advertise a full breakfast available, there is no doubt it is only seasonal. The manager of this hotel was absolutely the most unfriendly unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. He refused to identify himself other than "Jim". When I inquired about a number of issues his only answer was "I just don't care" and it was obvious everywhere. Stayed one night and it was good enough for what we needed. Could tell it was an older structure that had recently been updated (new carpet, paint, etc). Bedding seemed new, but when doing our requisite bug-check, noticed that the mattresses were stained and definitely not new. Did not get to use the pool, but hotel is centrally located and close to downtown boardwalk area. Had a breakfast promotion worked out with the Baymont while we were there since they do not have their own breakfast available. Would stay there again if in Keystone. read more

My trip wasn't for Sturgis but happened to be on the same weekend so the room was $160, I'm just as much a capitalist as next man so I accepted the cost, but when I woke up in the morning I wasn't even able to take a hot shower because there was no hot water. So the remodel is really nice compared to a couple years ago, the rooms are beautiful, found a dirty towel in the bathroom and the front desk crew just said yuck and sorry nothing else., But the smell of Caulk can be a little over whelming , suggest some air scrubbers to get the smell out. Most Ramada's offer a continental breakfast not this one cuz the over priced restaurant attached serves breakfast. So went looking for coffee and creamer, found the coffee but no creamer and I'm not talking about the powder kind. Rooms feel like Ramada but nothing else. We will look at other places to stay next time. Time to go to the store and buy creamer. read more

We stayed 2 night at what was suppose to be a newly renovated hotel.... let's just say they need to get their money back. The issues we encountered were a musty smelling guest room, loose tiles on the bathroom floor, sandpaper like bath towels and the swarms of bees and wasps when entering and exiting the building. The friendly staff and the closeness to Mount Rushmore and other points of interest are the only positives. This property is in dire need of some TLC from owners and management. read more

I couldn't place the smell in our room, but I guess it might be "earthworms and Lysol". If you have the misfortune of staying here, I recommend avoiding a room overlooking the pool area if you want to sleep before 10:00 pm when it closes. read more

The only thing going for this business is the location. The room was very small and the bed was pushed up to the air conditioner. The air conditioner didn't work on a day that reached 91 degrees. I immediately went back to the front desk to complain and was told by a front desk clerk that her manager Mr. Casey McNulty would not be returning for the day to refund my money and they had no other rooms available. After my husband stepped in and demanded he or someone in charge return to refund our charge since there were no other rooms to offer he came, but not without giving us attitude and telling me he doesn't need our business they do well enough. Do not go there. Told us what we wanted was available for 2 nights. after signed in, etc. then said mistake only one night but had similar for almost double nightly price. Tired so took for 1 night and said next night had cabin with view of Mt. Rushmore and 3 beds. did not tell us one bed was sofa bed with dirty sheets on it and you can feel the springs. So this place was newly remodeled apparently. They did the rugs and repainted. The plumbing wasnt. The staff was nice. The attached restaraunt was waaaaaaay overpriced. The best thing about this hotel was seeing it in my rearview mirror as I drove away . . . The Ramada advertised on their marquee that the hotel was "Renovated in 2018", but the utilities in my room alone made me ponder where the renovations specifically took place. The room was a few degrees beneath mediocrity . . . And that's just ONE issue . . . Though I should evaluate much more, I'll save time and only offer one more item: I arrived late at 9:45 PM, and had requested a "late check out" for noon instead of 11:00 am. The lady at the front office said she'd leave a few notes informing the cleaning staff and the morning manager of my late check out, as well as a note for whomever will be at the front desk in the morning. I watched her leave both electronic and paper notes. She recommended that I leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door -- but my room didn't even have a "Do Not Disturb" sign. I went back to the front desk to request one, but she said they didn't have any extras. Morning soon came and I LITERALLY had three different cleaning maids bang on my door: one around 10:30, one @ 11:05, and one around 11:20 -- and each entered without permission, even though I shouted from inside my room that I have a "late check out." Only an Asian cleaning lady genuinely apologized. The other two cleaning ladies acted like it was a hassle. I checked out immediately after and calmly explained my frustration to a blonde lady manager in the morning -- who acted real disinterested when I complained. She was even smug and gave me a sarcastic "Have a Nice Day" farewell as I quietly exited . . . The Ramada should be ASHAMED! First, I booked the room on the website very conspicuously depicting the larger bedroom with a workstation and a corner fireplace. But when I checked in I was given a "standard" room without either. The front desk just gave me a retarded and confused excuse pointing to the verbal description. My room did not have a work desk so they kindly offered to bring one or give me a $25 per night reduction which was acceptable. Room condition: Not entirely satisfactory. The carpet was very old and green ......and greasy with who knows what germs on that. Disgusting. The bathtub was cleaned but somehow a few body hairs from previous occupants were still in the tub per my wife who was grossed out. The billing statement came from my credit card and the hotel accidentally charged me twice as a duplicate charge. I called the hotel and they say they only charged once. I called Amex and initiated a dispute which will resolve that way. The fact that I was steaming pissed off about the room assignment not to mention after a long drive I was already tired and not in the mood to have the room argument, then additional hassles with the cuplicate charge this hotel gets a minimum rating of only one star and I strongly recommend you stay at another place in town. read more
