Do Not Stay Here! This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The halls smelled overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke, and the room was even worse. There were No Smoking signs everywhere, and they were clearly not enforced. The chairs in the room were filthy, and there were cigarette burns on the tub and toilet seat. The restaurant was closed, and the pool area was closed, with weeds overgrown. We didn't end up spending the night, checked out that same day, and drove back home. While checking out, I voiced my concerns, and the staff was unfazed. It was a waste of my money. read more

It is unbelievable that this hotel is in business. I read the bad reviews, but I would say it's worse than I expected. The room was absolutely filthy. There was flies everywhere, it smelled like there hasn't been airflow in years and my sheets were marked with spots. On top of that, every hall was had a security officer roaming around, and 3 security guards were placed at the entrance. I have never seen anything like it. The check in desk is hiding behind a massive glass wall, you have to talk through a tiny opening. It definitely made me question the safety of the hotel, as a young female by herself. My hallway had 3 chairs placed outside a room with trash all around it. It was truly a disgusting sight. As a woman, staying by myself...not acceptable. read more

I stayed here from July 14 - July 16, 2023. I experienced every negative thing communicated in other recent reviews of this Ramada - and much more. We had a catastrophic flood event in our hometown of Highland Falls, NY on 7/9/23 which caused many roads for miles around to be impassable - some collapsed totally. Presently, through a very long detour, there is only one road that can get one in or out of our hometown. Our home was subjected to extreme flooding on the property it resides on. On 7/14, our local police chief encouraged those of us who lived in areas that were flooded on 7/9 to evacuate the area due to predicted heavy rainfall expected for 7/15 - 16. I chose to stay at this Ramada because it allowed us to be in proximity to major highways that could promptly get us to my wife's extremely important medical appointment in Westchester County NY which was scheduled for Monday morning 7/17/23. Our stay began with 100% aggravation because the Ramada desk staff took a photocopy of my credit card number, valid through date, and 3-digit security code!! As a former credit professional, as well as a former retailer, I know this to be totally improper for them to have done. They had already processed my card and got an approval - what more did they need other than my driver's ID? After initial hesitation by the desk clerk to give me the photocopy he made of my credit card information, another person behind the desk provided it to me saying they had done nothing wrong. I completely disagree! My wife and I noted the Guest Service information within the Ramada Welcome binder about the availability of the daily (from 6am - 9am) complimentary continental breakfast served at the Cafe International Restaurant & Lounge located in the hotel. We attempted to take advantage of this guest service on 7/16 at 8 am only to find that the Cafe is no longer in operation. Nor did our room have the coffee/tea maker that is featured as an amenity on the website for this Ramada location! We ended up going to a local Panera where, for a modest breakfast of two bagels with cream cheese, one coffee, and one lemonade, it cost us a total of $17.55 (including $1.09 tax; $3.00 tip). Upon our return to the Ramada after breakfast, I decided to check out its fitness facility. Upon entering the Fitness room, I noted a strong odor of mildew/mold. It seemed likely that this smell came from the water-stained ceiling tiles. Also, the entire time we were there, the outdoor pool was inaccessible as it was covered. This Ramada location has a front desk that is surrounded in very thick glass (bulletproof?). You have to speak to the desk clerks through a small hole within the glass. There are security officers located throughout this facility. I was told by one of the security officers that they were there because of a large number of "asylum seekers" that were shipped here from NYC a couple of months ago. Other than this one security guard, none of the others that I greeted with a smile and a hello had the decency to reply in any manner at all. I am 65 years old. I have stayed in various domestic and international hotels, including Ramada, beginning at the age of 7. This is the most unpleasant hotel stay experience I have ever had. Ramada By Wyndham should be disgusted to be represented by the ownership/management of this location. After checking out today, I noted that my hotel bill, totaling $435.69, included a $1.89 daily line item charge, pertaining to "safe with limited warranty" for each of the three nights we stayed at this Ramada location. This Ramada's web page clearly states that the safe is an amenity. If so, why was I charged for it? I never requested use of the safe nor was I provided with a combination for it. I did not use it. I am a savvy user of social media including Instagram, LinkedIn, Yelp, etc. You can be sure I will be posting my observations and opinions about my unpleasant stay here - and I will be sure to tag Ramada when I do so. This was the most unpleasant experience I have literally ever had at a hotel - and I genuinely HATE having to write bad reviews (this is my first 1 star). So, my son and I showed up a little after 3pm hot and tired from being at the seafood festival in Beacon. We just wanted to relax in some cool air before going to dinner later. Well, we get into our room and I IMMEDIATELY spot a not tiny cockroach on the wall (if there is a cockroach within sight.. imagine how many are hiding?). I politely let the front desk know, and he gives us a new room. NEW ROOM IS DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE COCKROACH BEDROOM (SHARING WALLS). I'm like whatever, let's try it, I'm tired. I lay down on the bed.. COCKROACH #2 crawls out from under the sheets. Now I am completely and utterly disgusted and ready to go home.. we go to the front desk - still no apology or even surprise! He tries to give us a 3rd room.. no thank you sir. I am done. I leave and I will be fighting for a refund. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have pictures of these cockroaches. I have since called corporate (who offered me $400 off by next stay, but apparently can't do refunds) and they said to call the actual hotel for a refund. If I could give this property zero stars, I would. It's absolutely disgusting that they're operating a business here. The customer service is probably the worst I've ever encountered but honestly, I could've overlooked that had the room stood up to basic needs. Typically, we all want cleanliness at the very least. If I listed every issue we had, the review would take weeks to write so I'll just go over a few - we heard security jokingly speaking about the roaches in the hotel, completely gross. We had spiders in bedding, dirt and scum throughout the bathroom and AC that didn't work. Oh, and urine and red stains on sheets and mattress cover. I'm not sure if they don't have housekeeping or housekeeping just isn't doing their job. Our room was filthy, the smell of dirty shoes and dust filled the entire hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL My wife and I checked into the Ramada-Wyndham Newburg Hotel on Saturday, September 2, 2023. It was not the best Ramada (i.e., smokey) but we were heading to Jamestown NY early the next morning, a 5-hour drive. At 11:30 pm we called the front desk to complain about kids playing ball in the Ramada's back parking lot. The front desk said they would resolve the issue. The noise continued so we called the front desk at 12:30 am but no one picked up. The noise stopped at 01:30 am and we finally got to sleep at 02:00 am! Filthy place! You are better off sleeping in your car! First, there are two panels in the front by the front desk missing from the ceiling and a steady stream of water dripping down into buckets. Second, the carpets in the hallway are disgusting! They look like they haven't been cleaned in ages! For a non-smoking establishment, the hall is labeled with no smoking signs yet it stinks of weed and cigarette smoke. Third, the wallpaper in the room is peeling and you can see greasy finger prints all over the room, on every handle and every surface. For being in mid-pandemic where cleanliness is essential, this place fails many times over. Fourth, forget the elevator. Most rooms don't have access to an elevator and have you go through a labyrinth of stairs up and down to get to the second floor. Just a gross place that is overpriced for what they are offering. I don't even know if I want to give this place one star. It doesn't have an elevator and they put us on the second floor. The complaints on the room are as follows: the wall paper was peeling, cigarette burns everywhere, the room smelled heavily like smoke, the numbering system for the rooms was chaotic, I was quoted one price and charged a higher price, the door to the attached room was badly constructed and we put out suitcases and moved furniture in front of it for our peace of mind, the chairs and furniture were dirty and stained, we slept with the lights on. We slept there only because we were exhausted and the beds were clean. (Most of this we noticed after we woke up.) read more

The Clerk at the Front Desk is very rude. He does not handle calls well. Unfortunately, I do not have his name because he hung up on me before I finished speaking with him but he is working on Saturday, Feb 10 in the morning. Hopefully, this will let the Ramada Inn know who I am referring to. He does not have the professionalism to represent the Ramada Inn. All I did was call to be connected to a guest and he spoke rudely to me to tell me guest was never there when in fact I had spoken to the guest the night before and he confirmed he was there. My fiancé and I took an overnight trip to Bear mountain, we found this hotel online and it looked nice so we decided to stay. We got the jacuzzi suite for $200/night. First off, it is the middle of the summer and they do not keep the hotel air conditioned. It was about 100 degrees and took hours to cool the room off, and by cool off I mean make it tolerable, it never got cooler than seventy-something degrees not to mention as soon as you open your room door, you get smacked in the face with hot air. Everything seemed to be old, paint was chipping, the ceiling obviously had several patch repairs and he bathroom door would not even close and was splitting at the ends. Let's move on to internet. We were told on check in that internet is free and there is no password. There were 2 "Ramada" connections available but neither of them would connect. TL;DR: Cancelled our reservation with 0 warning and didn't help whatsoever. Do not stay. Hotel staff cancelled our reservation after we confirmed with them 3 times both our date of the reservation and confirming that we would be able to check in at a specific hour. We show up to the hotel and the staff tells us that they cancelled our reservation and that they rebooked our room. They didn't call or email us to warn us they were cancelling our room. They lied to us about that. Then, we asked for a solution and they said "you can book a smaller room for more money." When we said that's absolutely absurd they refused to talk to us anymore. This place is a dive placed in a shithole of a town. However, compared to other hotels in the area, I think you'll be higher to mid road with this one. Pros: they have a restaurant on site with full bar that turns into a night club on weekends. The bed linens in the room were clean. The night time front desk clerk was awesome when I misplaced my key. Cons: 11 in the morning on the dot, not 11:01 room service opened our door and shrilled, "check out." Calm down, I'm not exactly clambering to stay here... curtains were covered in something. The room we were in 117, had a window that was floor to ceiling which was kinda scary on a first floor. The refrigerator ticked non stop so I didn't sleep and the room was outdated and dusty. They definitely do clean the rooms but corners, under the bed and small spaces go unnoticed. No spare toilet paper in the room. Bathroom tub lever was protruding from the wall, not that it really matters if it works. I was told it was recently renovated? Damn must've been hellish before. Hallways were weird, although still first floor every 3-4 rooms had about a four step climb... I don't think this place is handicap accessible. Night club. We were there on biker night apparently. I wish I would have read these reviews before renting a room through expedia. It was late, my friend and I was renting for a night. We get to the hotel and a guest was yelling at the staff about roaches in his room. My friend and I decided to cancel our reservation We never stayed at all. The staff member tried to justify why there were roaches and offered us another room. We declined. He then said, you will have to go through Expedia but you won't get your money back because it's non refundable. I called Expedia, they tell me to wait 72 hours. I called back after 72 hours, for them to tell me the hotel staff said we did a no show and will not be receiving a refund. This is an older establishment with tired beds and outdated furniture. The WiFi is good and the service is great. From the front staff to the cleaning crew. The place is reasonably clean but it is older and well used. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves which is nice. The bathrooms are all right and the water pressure is acceptable. This place is slightly better than a budget cheap hotel. You get breakfast with your room stay which is the basic fair. The eggs are yellow and served as a puck and the sausage is grey and steamed. I believe they just thaw pre-cooked patties in the warmer. Fresh waffles are nice and they have other cereal and toast offerings. Really basic. They also have a bar restaurant on the premises. The drinks are expensive and the food is OK. I had a meal at Denny's which I thought was better and less expensive. The parking is good and they have a nice little laundry on the premises which works very well. For a sub $100 a night this place is fine. read more

I Stayed at the Ramada Inn a couple of weeks ago. The hallway and room smelled like marajuan. I asked for a non-smoking room. I was unable to sleep. It was a horrible experience. I had the gentleman working the front desk come to the room. He said I would be reimbursed for my stay. I was not reimbursed, the manager never returned my phone. Don't let the nice pictures on advertisements fool you. I heard From a few friends that Ramada is a really nice hotel, but this one, DISGUSTING! First time going in my room, it was nice until I had to use the restroom and saw a filthy toilet that left me scarred for life. It was traumatizing and I had goosebumps all over and everything else after that seemed dirty. The bedsheets had few hair strands and the pillow smelled as if they weren't changed. The AC kept making a weird sound every few minutes. It was too late and I was so tired to change room just to go through it all over again. Very dirty and outdated hotel. Toenail clippings and roach papers behind the nightstand. Bathroom door wouldn't shut. Peephole on the door was able to be pulled right out. Hallways smelled like weed. One of the weirder hotels I have stayed at... It is "2" levels but that depends on where you park and the fact that there is a 4 stair stair case every 15 feet in the halls (no elevators just full staircases in certain areas). It is like an MC Esher painting gone horribly wrong. The heating unit is right next to the desk...and the walls must be made of, I don't know, mesh. So if you are on your laptop at the desk.. your face is melting and your legs are getting frostbitten... seriously this was draftier on my nethers than a kilt in a hurricane. Temperature control was next near to impossible.. so I just wrapped up in the blanket to sleep as cold was the better choice. The room itself was fine, no big detractors. My room was clean (one of the non smoking ones). Functional TV, microwave and refrigerator. No problems with the utilities (shower, power, WIFI). The staff was courteous and check in/out a breeze. They have a fitness center although I worked crazy hours and could not go. No pool this time of year but man it looked a little sketchy out there anyway. Breakfast? Powdered everything... powdered milk, powdered eggs, powdered OJ, powdered toast man... stale english muffins... Breakfast Bouncer to make sure you were not pilfering the house. I'd skip the breakfast, Denny's (while not exactly avant garde cuisine) is just down the hill... literally. And heck there are tons of places within a 5 min drive including some dinners. In a pinch this place was fine to hang your hat for the night and an easy location off the highway for out of towners. read more

This is definitely a dated motel with a registration desk that resembles a fortress, a reception staff that speaks very softly and assumes you won't care. While it was basically clean, the carpet is stained, the decor hodgepodge at best. I will not consider Ramada a solid chain anymore, or stay at any others. read more

My first time, it took me 5 minutes to check in when an Indian female staff assisted me, my second visit I was met by a male Indian staff appears to be in his 30s: the room is $200+, can't recall exactly, I said last week I got it for $87+tax, he said the cheapest I can do for you is $141+tax, WAIT WAAAT!! This time I called ahead of time and I was given a quote of $107 by the female, now when I arrive the male tells me $141+tax the cheapest we have, I reminded the female of my call then she confronts him then he say yes yes I have one, and I wait 30 mins before I check in. He literally looks and behaves like he is stoned, he will just stare at the girls around and forget he has 3-5 people in line to check in, asked my id and returned it 4 times! utterly incompetent!! I wanted to give them a chance to make things tights apologize and let me know how they will take care of the matter and nothing. Arguably, a 1.5 Star hotel depending on what time you arrive and how soon you leave. Case in point: (1) If you arrive in the evening and the slow staff working the front desk, warn distressed furnishing in the lobby and lack of understanding the word housekeeping doesn't bother you...and... (2) You aren't disturbed by sleeping in a mildew-scented room filled with a worn-out bed, pillows that have the consistency of a shredded paper stuffed into a dirty pillowcase, and so much furniture in the room its impossible to move...and... (3) You leave before daybreak! Well, then you might consider giving Ramada Newburgh-West Point a 1.5 Star rating. However, if you happen to experience this place in the light of day then a 0 to 1/2 star rating might be in order. Unfortunately, we choose to stay here after a long late night drive so being in desperate need of sleep we didn't realize what we'd gotten ourselves in until woke to see the wonderment of this hotel in the light of day.
