The folks at the front desk were super helpful and kind throughout my stay. What lovely people they have working here. The lobby is chic and lovely and the restaurant looked upscale as well. My room was on the fourth floor and had a lovely view of the lush green fields and trees below. It has a king bed which was very comfortable throughout my stay. It also had a nice little kitchenette with a closer to full size fridge than you normally get in hotels. It als had a small seating area with a sofa and desk. Both of which came in handy for hotel working. It was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (including Starbucks coffee and Coffee-mate liquid creamer in the room!). Get to it!

I was in room 3, which is in the building closest to the road. As a result, I had a lot of road noise, lights in the window from headlights all night long, and the blackout curtains did not help. The bed itself was uncomfortable, especially the pillows. This is like a common theme for hotels lately: they're all buying the same pillows. They fluff up and look beautiful and all, but they're filled with nothing but air. The moment you put your head on them, you're laying on a thin layer barely a half inch thick. I spent about half the night sleeping on my arm before waking up to it numb, then grabbed my backpack and used it as a pillow. The light pollution into the room isn't limited to the roadway, either. There are bright lights behind the rooms, which shine into the windows. I saw some of the reviews mentioning the great continental breakfast, and I have to wonder if we stayed in the same place. I went down to breakfast, and there was a small table covered with plastic wrapped pastries that looked older than I am. I grabbed a banana from it, and left.

It looked like the motel had recently undergone some renovations. The sink was outside the bathroom area. The bathroom was a little on the small size. The refrigerator was nice sized. The main downside on the room was that the bed was on some kind of metal frame that echoed loudly when touched. The bed itself was comfortable. The staff was nice and directed us to the parts of town with restaurants. There is no breakfast, but the front desk has coffee, tea, oatmeal, popcorn and Honeybuns for the guest.

Unable to get to the town due to the flooding it took numerous phone calls with the hotel to get them to agree on a 2 room credit. This was not an easy task, despite the town being flooded and all roads blocked they said sorry we are open and it's our policy when you cancel day of not to reimburse. So we agreed to take the two room credit. Our first credit was able to be used. It took two phone calls to arrange but nevertheless they agreed to honor one credit. When I attempted to use the next credit they said it was lost. All room credits need to be used in same year (2023). So they received $180 we couldn't use originally because a flooding disaster and provided no service in return. This is a case of a business who knows despite what they do it won't matter because of the proximity to a University/tourist attraction like West Point. They don't care about customer service, or updating the hotel etc, they will get the tourists and the families who visit students money regardless. Throughout my communication they have been rude and spoke with a tone that was not professional. Again they can do this because they know all rooms will continue to be booked. So I know this review won't have an impact on the hotel but I firmly believe you get what you give. Sooner or later the hotel management will get a return on all the negativity they have given.

I'm not a religious person at all, but "God is in the details" and Dena is a miracle worker who doesn't skip a beat!!! From the amazingly soft sheets, the electric fireplace, the beautiful robes, the reusable water bottles, any toiletry kit you might need, a stocked kitchen with flashlights/bug spray/aloe vera/honey sticks for coffee/to-go cups, the best smelling shampoo, streaming tvs (which aren't even available in Manhattan hotels most of the time), and too much more!! I was just STUNNED at what an amazing oasis this was. The employees, and of course, Dena, were beyond nice and friendly, as well as the other guests. I went for a solo birthday weekend and had to take a mug/robe home with me! Dena even did a very nice and special gesture when she found out it was my birthday. I even extended my trip to stay longer. The history is rich, the facilities are updated and yet still have the necessary old charm, and the breakfasts are great.
