We came for an overnight stay to go to Carolina hurricanes game. We were able to check in early which was great! Staff was very nice and made check in very easy. The hotel itself is dated. Clean and grounds maintained . We had problems with constant smell of pot in hallways, the shower wasn't working right. When you pull the lever to make it turn into shower it acted like it was gonna come loose from wall. The shower head only trickled it never acted like it would be full shower. The bed was ok but pillows were very small. Prob will never stay here again. read more

Extremely convenient hotel to events at Lenovo Center. There isn't a crosswalk on the main road, but before/after events, there are cops directing traffic who should be able to make sure you're not squashed. The property itself is fairly spread out in one giant square, which though it meant you might be a hike from the lobby, kept it reasonably quiet. Easy and plentiful parking, hot breakfast was your standard eggs, sausage, and in my case, pancakes. I don't know that I would stay here if I wasn't going to a game, simply because you have to drive to get to anything else, but it isn't a bad option, and the area felt safe. read more

At check in I met Donovan who was super nice and helpful. Upon opening my hotel room, the first thing I noticed was how big the bathroom was! The room was clean and had a sliding glass door that opened to a small patio. The water pressure in the shower could have been stronger. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast and the attendants made my morning brighter! Everyone was happy and friendly. Beautiful sitting area in the lobby with a piano and fireplace. This hotel used to feel like a hidden gem but now really could use an overall refresh. It was a shame to see the nice bar open each night but no one partaking since the restaurant isn't open. Remote issues- TV channels go forward but not backwards and the same with volume- it would go up but not down- we would have to turn the tv off to reset each time. Room was a little damp and smelled musty/mildewy, had to go buy a gel air freshener and keep it open all weekend to combat the smell. Tub was stained and there was some hair stuck to the wall that wasn't either of ours. The pillows are also the size of sofa throw pillows and too soft, thankfully there were 4 on each bed to get the angle needed to sleep. The drain stopper in our sink was also broken so we had to adjust with our fingers which was kind of gross. Beds were clean though and housekeeping did a nice job. Happy to have microwave and fridge available. However we got stuck to a room really far back as well in a wing where we had to cross the entire hotel just to get to an ice machine- which had some brown crusty looking mold underneath it. First morning when we were walking to breakfast there were a few cockroaches when walking out of the wing we were staying in. One was cleaned up fairly quickly and the other we reported twice that sat there on the carpet and then finally someone cleaned it up. Thankfully we never saw any other bugs. Wi-Fi worked well for us so no complaints there. Breakfast was simple but nice and exactly what we needed each morning so it was much appreciated. The staff was always hustling to keep things full while we were in the restaurant. Front desk personnel was always helpful and nice as well. read more

Pleasant hotel stay if your only Going to be here for maybe a few days. I stayed for a full week so I noticed more issues than most, first the best experience was the bar! Super nice attendant and she was very knowledgeable in making drinks. Worse part is the repetitive breakfast, serving the few options they do have everyday makes it inconvenient, as someone like me doesn't eat pork and the only meat they serve everyday is pork sausage. So other protein options would be nice for visitors who aren't from the south who live, breathe, and eat pork. Not saying they didn't have other nice options but who wants to eat eggs and grits everyday for their stay.(They serve oatmeal, cereal, and bread, so I guess this is all they can come up with) Another downside is I ran out of toilet paper in my room and went to the desk to get more, she said they don't have any at the desk. So I would have to wait for house keeping, which is super inconvenient and to be honest really unprofessional, you mean to tell me not one of your employees can unlock a storage closet but house keeping ? So i really appreciate having no way to wipe my ass for a few hours ! I called the manager because they leave a note in the room to call them before leaving your review but of course she didn't answer, so I tried to work around leaving a review like this! Oh and don't have a lot of stuff and have your room anywhere near the early 200s, there's only one elevator so you have to walk all the way down and up then come back around if you have a luggage cart, which you would think since their primary demographic in the hotel is older people they would have something more convenient, however the hotel is very old so I guess they have an excuse for now! In the end you can have a nice 3 days here I wouldn't suggest longer stays for people in the travel industry however ! read more

This is my 4th stay here taking my dog to the nearby NC State Veterinary Hospital. They have special rates for patients visiting NC State and the proximity can't be beat. They are very dog friendly, the staff has always been very pleasant and accommodating and the rooms are nice and clean. I needed to ensure my safety by stopping at the front desk again regarding the eyebrow raising, way on the back side of the building, and low light parallel parking "spooky"! Subliminally I was saying "hey people will look for me if I'm missing". In return (0) lack of concern for my safety and (0) concern that I have a concern. I am a professional black women and stupid is still prevalent. My questions are still meter reader level 9 necessary. Anyways I left my favorite oldest of the old coat of many colors and GM Cynthia Nameth returned it to me. She made everything ok again for her I would make reservations because she cared. For what this hotel charges (@75/night), it cannot be beat. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. I felt very safe there even during a COVID surge. This is the first hotel I've been to since the pandemic that is serving a real breakfast, and it's amazing! Went because of the close proximity to the North Carolina State Fair. It's about an 8 min walk to gate 9. Staff was nice and it was an easy check in process. I will write separate reviews on the food as the have a restaurant on property. Rooms and bathrooms were a bit dirty, see attached pictures. I stayed on October 13th to the 14th, 2017 in room 176. I sat in the desk chair and found out that it was wet from the guest before. Pubic hairs were on the toilet and the wall by the bed had a stain. I am hoping they fix the problem, so next year during the fair, all will be corrected. The proximity to the fair it makes it very convenient. If my wife came with us, we would be looking for somewere else to stay. But, it was a boys weekend, thankfully. read more

Cozy and quiet motel. Perfect distance from PNC Arena (less than 5 minute drive or about a 10-15 minute walk if you're into that). Very friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable and, when it comes to hotel pillows I'm very picky, but no complaints here! My wife and I like to keep our room very cool at night, and the AC unit didn't disappoint. Our room must've been handicap accessible because the bathroom and shower were very spacious. Honestly, I can't think of a single issue. This hotel warrants the expression "You get what you pay for". I decided to take a trip and get away and went to Raleigh NC. I looked around online an found some reasonable prices and since it was just me, didn't anything to much. I found and booked online Ramada Inn on Blue Ridge Rd for a reasonable rate. The positives first, hotel is easy to find, in what appeared to be a nice area, close to highways and downtown. I arrive at hotel and I ask the female clerk, to I get myWyndham points and she replied " you want your points, you should of booked through us directly". Ok not off to a good start. Hands me a map and says " for this room your better off going outside, around the building and use the staircase". I grab my suitcase which I brought in and she clearly seen it and walk around the building and into the doorway/stairwell. Surprise it was a few feet from the spot 8 was just standing at the front desk. I get in the room, toilet running 24 hours per day, had to flush 2-3 times each flush. Shower- I tried pushing on the valve, turning the valve, pulling on it and no water. Finally after 10 minutes, I hear the housekeeping outside and ask them for help. A very nice lady, says " you need to pull on it hard ", ok- that was an experience. The mat for the shower was torn up and had holes in it. The next morning I go to check out, desk clerk head down behind some plastic. I ask what time is breakfast for their "grab and go", and she tells me time and says at the bar. I walk over to an empty bar area and a man in the next room is mumbling something through glass walls and places a white bag in the the room he is in on the shelf. I stand there and he keeps mumbling something. Finally, I say is that for me and he nods. " grab and got" = a snack bag worth about a $1.50 if that. I stop at front desk and I hand in the keys, never asked how was everything or anything. I proceed to tell her, as her head when back down to the counter about the issues. Oh ok, let me let maintenance know. Never once and apology or anything or thanks for staying at our property nothing. Friends, Remember "You get what you pay for" . read more

Chose this place because it was cheap and had great reviews and I see why. Everything is organized ,clean and check in and check out is a breeze. The only thing is it isnt near anything so if your looking for a hotel that has a lot of stuff near by this isnt the place for you. We came to the Ramada via a large group discount, and ended up paying less than I've paid for anything that wasn't motel quality. I thought it odd that, despite 4 days of luggage for two, the front desk sent us to the stairs to find our room, but that was quickly forgotten with the free Wi-Fi code and breakfast passes - you wouldn't believe what luxuries I'd give up for Wi-Fi. On the way up, we passed the restaurant and separate bar, and I was surprised to see dinner sandwiches available for less than 8 bucks. I last stayed at a Westin, with burgers almost twice as expensive. Our room's decor seemed dated to me, with elaborate gold light sconces, patterned drapes and one salmon colored accent wall, but I don't expect a Ramada to compete on interior decoration. Everything in the room looked new and smelled clean, and the bed was large and not broken in. The TP was institutional-grade single ply, it will remind you of elementary school for certain. On the other hand, they have the best, least offensive soap, "sugar citrus." I kinda wanted to take a bite. The breakfast buffet was... well, free, at least. Buffet eggs were decent, when they often aren't at a buffet, but the hash browns, caseless sausage, and bland pancakes were entirely forgettable. No obvious bread or cereal options. Service and friendliness have been great all around. I am giving them 4 stars because this is an excellent bargain for the no-amenities price. read more

I'd definitely never choose this hotel if I had to visit this part of town again. Positives: Toiletries smelled great, and you get mouthwash! Staff is super friendly. Parking is plentiful and all around so even if you're in a room far away from the check-in you can have a short walk from your car to your room. Free wi-fi is decently fast. Negatives: Old carpet, ripped wallpaper, musty smells everywhere that remind me of how a room smells when someone has smoked there before and you try to cover the scent up instead of clean it away properly. Breakfast was terrible. Just so bad. They didn't even have cereal as an option! Or yogurt! Or anything fresh except a few meager fruit offerings. They had this really gross fruit cocktail thing happening that made me feel like running the other way altogether. They'd be better off serving granola bars and yogurt with some juice. Bed was fine but the pillows are not meant for side sleepers! Bottom line: shell out a few extra bucks for something slightly nicer and just as close to where you need to be. read more

I stayed here twice with my boyfriend within the same week. Both rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. There's a nice snack bar in the lobby if you get the munchies. Internet and tv worked well. Things that were less than perfect, we found a few bugs on our second stay (imo not really a reflection on cleanliness, but maybe this hotel is due for fumigation soon...). The second room also must have been close to a water pump or other mechanical equipment, because there was a very loud knocking from inside the walls that woke us up in the middle of the night. Breakfast...it was mostly very nice, but there were no trash cans and this was a big inconvenience for guests. I could tell because when I got to the buffet there were discarded used silverware, plates, mini butter wrappers, etc. scattered around the food. It's gross to have garbage near the food like that. Finding an affordable, clean, well located, dog friendly hotel can often be difficult, but with the Ramada Inn we found everything we were looking for! Upon arrival the lobby was immaculate and we'll decorated. Our Front Desk representative was extremely kind and informative regarding the recreational opportunities and daily breakfast items available within the hotel for guests. Entering our designated hotel room for the weekend was quite refreshing as the room was clean with a well executed set up. Even with two full grown adults, the room had plenty of space to set up our four legged friend's food dish, water dish, and resting area. Since we were in the area for the North Carolina's Strongest Man and Woman Strongman Competition being held at Dolton Area, the proximity to our event destination could not have been better! In addition the hotel maintained a functioning elevator which was greatly appreciated by all of the Strongman competitors since stairs can be almost impossible after multiple hours of lifting. With the level of cleanliness, proximity to the event, and dog friendly atmosphere, we plan to use the Ramada Inn ever year during our visit to Raleigh for future Strongman Competitions! read more

We just stayed overnight here a couple of nights ago while a family member was at UNC Rex hospital. While the hotel is somewhat old and outdated, it was clean and very comfortable and quiet. There have been some upgrades (such as new carpeting in our suite). We were upgraded to a very nice suite and couldn't have asked for anything more. The young man at the front desk on Tuesday night was very friendly and helpful and made check in very easy. read more

I stayed in the hotel for surgery at the hospital. Overall, it's a decent looking hotel. I have concerns about management. We weren't able to check in until at least 45 minutes after the scheduled time. There was no apology, care or concern about not having the rooms ready. When we finally got to our rooms, the keys didn't work properly. We asked housekeeping for an additional wash cloth and bed sheets for which it was an act of Congress to acquire. We actually had to sign a form to get the items. We had a non-smoking room but smelled a great deal of smoke in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was inconsistent. The burger day one was great. Everything else was gross. It's a good location for people needing to be close to the hospital. They really need to step it up. read more

Going under renovations but did not interfere with our stay. Pool looks clean. Gym is adequate. Room is spacious. Breakfast is OK. Coffee and tea available 24 hours. Not advised for women traveling solo. Outside doors are left unlocked at night - even though they are supposed to be accessed by the hotel key. I advised the front desk of this situation, but they ignored. Also, the hallway was permeated with cigarette smoke and the perimeters of the hotel room was dirty. Breakfast is pretty dismal with limited selections. Bed and pillows are hard and water pressure is slow. I would not recommend nor stay there again. read more

My son and I stayed at the Ramada Raleigh last evening (17 March 2018). We were in town for the Flyers-Hurricanes hockey game and I wanted somewhere close to PNC Arena. Ramada Raleigh fit that request. When I checked in, the staff was so nice......thanks to Cynthia Nameth and her staff. The room was very nice and a gentleman brought a roll-away to our room within a few minutes. After the game several Flyer hockey fans enjoyed themselves in the lobby area where the fire was going and the furniture was oh so comfortable. Thanks to the entire staff at the Ramada Raleigh.....my next stay in Raleigh will be a return trip there! read more
