Took management 2 days after check out to call me back regarding my complaint. Manager was reluctant to give any compensation as complaint was made in the morning verses 10pm at night when the pool closed. I'm a Gold Level member of Marriott. This is the worst treatment I've ever had at a Marriott property in 20+ years of stays. Don't stay at this hotel!

Check-in was easy through their app - I was able to check in before I even got to the hotel, so all I had to do was stop by the front desk and pick up my keys. The woman working the front desk that day - Sherry-Lynn - was amazing and one of the friendliest people I have ever met. She made a point of asking how my day had gone whenever I returned to the hotel after a day out in the city. Such a sweetheart! The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. I made a couple of requests for the room through their app - extra pillows, that kind of thing - and they were followed to a T. I would recommend the Fairfield to anyone, and I will definitely be staying there again when I find myself planning another trip to the city!

Up the hill and across Water Street is the Crow's Nest, and down the hill is the waterfront/harbour. Fantastic location You'd be impressed as soon as you walk in, the view of the harbour entrance is great. There is a self-serve coffee/tea/water station, an optional cash shop for their Alt Hotel brand of shampoo/gel/lotion, a complimentary office workstation with printer, plus an assortment of sofas, lounge chairs and bar chairs. The main floor also has a suite of reconfigurable conference rooms and smaller meeting rooms The rooms are amazing! All the apparatus in the rooms are touchscreen activated. Don't be alarmed that the curtains seem worryingly see-through, just go to the touchscreen controls and lower the blinds. Stand-alone shower, nil bathtubs. There's an ironing board and iron. You get a Keurig with 4x kcups (1x tea, 1x decaf, 2x regular coffee) The double-sized bed is comfy with four enormous pillows. There's an ice machine on the third floor only The continental breakfast is a cold breakfast.... when I was there 17-21 Jul 18, they had an assortment of pastries, apples, bananas, cheerios and raisin brans, plus the usual coffee/decaf/tea/milk/orange juice. If you want anything hot (even if it's just toast), you'll want to head out for a hot breakfast Last but not least, the hotel staff are awesome. Would definitely choose to stay here again!

The room was clean spacious with comfortable chairs, abundant closet space, an in-room coffeemaker and microwave, and a king bed. The bed was little soft for my liking, but on it were a selection of soft and firm pillows (marked as such) to choose from. The bathroom itself was quite large. The large-nozzled shower head was high enough for me to stand under comfortably, and I'm 6'6". Bath products lathered nicely, unlike those at many hotels. There is some evidence of wear on the rug and furniture, but overall the room was in good condition. Even though it's on a fairly busy road, we never heard my traffic noise. In the lobby there is complimentary coffee in the morning, and fruit-infused ice water in the afternoon. Next door is a Horton's for a tasty, quick breakfast. Overall, a good value for what we paid.

Music throughout the hotel is perfect. Exile bar is beautifully executed and the bartenders are just what you want--attentive without being disruptive. I took the non refundable booking, never expecting a worldwide pandemic to hit. Although NO tourists from outside the Atlantic provinces were allowed to stay in hotels, this establishment still billed me the full amount for 4 nights and refused to provide a refund based on the fact that they could not legally provide the service they were charging me for. VERY Dishonest. DO not book this establishment. They obviously are too inflexible to provide a good stay. Also found out the "breakfast" part of the B&B is continental style left in a common room. After staying in various hotels across the province, it's nice to have a place in a large city (by their standards) where I can walk outside and have multiple choices for restaurants and bars. My room was large and brightly lit. Clean as well. Lots of TV channel options, and the TVs themselves were of excellent quality. A/C was a bit loud initially, but I eventually acclimated to it. Overall no complaints at all with the hotel.
